As amazing as it is with his baseline style of play, he's absolutely an ATG on grass. It boggles my mind to think that if he wins another, he'll have won as many as the great Borg.

Borg won his titles from the baseline too. Their styles aren't too far off but yeah amazing if Novak could tie Borg.

Laver: 4.

I think 3 titles is enough already, I consider Becker an ATG on grass, likewise Mac - Edberg too.

What is huge is that Djokovic seperated himself from those guys to stand alone at 4 in the Open Era.

Not sure what his exact point was, but it could have been either: 1) Laver actually won 9 Majors on grass; or 2) who knows how many Wimbledons he would have won if he had been allowed to play it his whole career.

I think at three titles it's going to depend on the all-round resume. Four or more guarantees status, two or fewer is no dice. But three can go either way. Edberg has four Slam titles on grass (two in Australia). Becker made seven Wimbledon finals, so he's in. McEnroe made five finals in a row (1980-84). Until Djokovic won last year, I would say he wasn't quite on a par with any of the three yet, although close to McEnroe, I suppose.

Eww what a gross question. Having to say yes feels like giving away a kidney.

Leading up to the 2011 final Nadal really looked like a shoo-in to be a grass court great.

Still 5 finals in 6 years (and 5 in a row in Wimbledons he competed in) is still a fantastic achievement for someone once labelled a “clay court specialist”.

Want some pats on the back? He is 4th Open Era in no. of Wimbledon titles, pretty useless question to pose.

Easily. He’s a 4 time champ and has made 5 finals a couple other semis; he also defended once. A better question is whether someone like Nadal is an ATG on grass with 2 titles and 5 finals (along with a de-facto finals last year)

Bc he got 2014 and 15 Federer instead of 06/07 Federer ;)

Thiem would never have held RG if he played 06 or 07 Nadal, or 18 or 19 Nadal. Irrelevant. Federer destroyed Murray in 2015 and everybody else but Novak was just better. End of discussion.

Fed has lost more than twice at Wimby last time I checked. Don't compare him to Nadal at the FO. And Murray? LOL! I never said Fed wasn't playing well, the point stands 06 Federer would have smoked Imhotep like a menthol. At the end of the day I already said I admit he's an ATG on grass.

He looks amazing in that pic

Yeah.... he was actually young :p

Lol. Yes in a hypothetical scenario of course Djokovic would lose. He never wins these hypothetical scenarios, only real matches. ;) The point is you're using age to lessen what Djokovic achieved at Wimbledon. It's irrelevant what 06 Federer would have done since he played 12, 14 and 15 Federer. Nadal has been injured a lot of the last year and still was untouchable at RG at 32 and 33 years old. At the end of the day he won 4 of them and beat Nadal or Federer everytime.

@RF-18 Um... sorry, you are absolutely dead wrong and obviously never saw Bjorn play.

He approached the net 146 times in the classic 1980 final against Mac and won 100 of those points. His net stats are similar in his other Wimbledon matches.

In an entire calendar year, Djokovic will probably not approach the net 146 times in all his matches played.

Yes of course! I’d love him to get one more, 5 Wimbledon titles would be so cool. A lot of people pre 2011 doubted whether Novak can even play at a high level on grass, so it’s been some run since 2011! He’s been very consistent too, only losing early in 2016.

We can't talk about all-time greatness on grass since the surface has dramatically changed since the early 2000s.

However, if Agassi could do it, I think Novak could have won Wimbledon in the 20th century too. But certainly not 4 times. Let's be clear about that.

Borg HAD to change his game, that's what most neophytes ignore and that’s why all tennis greats look at Borg with great admiration.

How can a player with 4 Wimbledon titles not be considered an ATG on grass?! Having said that I'm not sure I'd place him inside the top 5 for the Open era as I consider Federer, Sampras, Borg, Becker and McEnroe to be greater than him(Laver too if we go even further back).
