Is it wrong that I really like Justin Beiber's latest album?

I liked the first few singles he released off it so I thought "you know what, why not try the rest of it out, keep an open mind and see what it's like?". And I really like it! His voice actually sounds good and the album has a very chilled out vibe to it, kinda like the perfect record to have on when you're just relaxing with a glass of wine in the evening. Don't get me wrong, I still think JB is a bit of a pr1ck but I have to give credit where it's due and say that on 'Purpose', he delivered.

There, I said it and I don't actually feel too ashamed. But should I?!

People who somehow lay claim to knowing what "good" or "real" music is will criticize you.

I don't personally like Bieber's music much, and I dislike him as a person, but there's no reason why you should feel ashamed to like certain music and I certainly wouldn't criticize you for it.
I'd never feel ashamed for having an opinion.

Thank you for not judging my musical taste Firstservingman. :) Just realised that I ended up spelling his name wrong. Oh well, who cares about the odd misplaced vowel here or there? ;)

It's really not great music. Not that it couldn't be. I appreciate good manufactured pop. If you want some good pop, there are plenty of bands that actually make their own music.

Nothing wrong about that, Djokovic2011. I have a very ecclectic taste in music, meaning I don't stick to a few genres alone. I think the only genre I really kind of not like is rap. Other than that, if it's good it's good.

The biebster is a dlck though..

I'm in my early 30's and I've always loved all of Justin Bieber's music and I admit it all the time I'm not embarrassed because you don't have to like the person to like there music!!

No. Listen to what you like. Some people think he's mainstream trash, but people even hate music which is specific and particular. Like, a defined genre. A lot of people hate hip hop and a lot of people hate rock. You can't win.. and you shouldn't be looking to. Yes we're all pressured to hate him, but you'll be miserable listening to supposedly "more respectable" music if you don't like it. Listen to what you want it. No it's not wrong.

Not my cuppa but to each their own; pretty weak era for the tunes these days but I've been known to perk up for the occasional Katy Perry tune. I like her Roar video, featuring Poobyderm so prominently!

I don't think there's anything wrong with liking whatever the type of music it is that you like. I don't really care much for Justin Bieber's music, but I won't think negatively of fans of his music. Everyone's taste is different after all. If it floats your boat, why not?

Judge me :p:

I've never heard Justin Bieber, or if I have I don't know it. I don't have cable, and don't listen to Top 40 and such channels, just classic rock and stuff like that.

Kind of weird, since I have heard Britney Spears, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus (once), Adele, etc. No idea even how Justin Bieber sounds.

I've only seen Miley Cyrus' backstage sex tape but not listened to her song in its entirety.

@MichaelNadal, I made a little past 2 minutes in the karaoke video. Thanks for sharing, but like @stringertom said, it's not my cuppa either.

Is this considered Hip Hop, or just Pop?

Personally I'm more of a Radiohead type of guy (within modern artists).

He's pop. Not really my cup of tea either but I like his new stuff more than what he's done to this point. Plus he's attractive now :p

His music has definitely matured compared to his first few albums. I like him now....i even subscribed to his channel on youtube. Seems like chilled down. Though he's still a pr1ck from time time though.....i don't know why he hangs out with money mayweather

Do you mind if I ask how old you are Rusty? ;)

Almost 40.

I think that losing mental faculties with age is a natural self-defense mechanism, BTW. A way to lose touch with an ever-increasingly annoying world. ;)

That above is just my chronological age, BTW. Biologically I'm around 34, emotionally I am 4, sexually I am roughly 24, and mentally I am a Transylvanian vampire who has lived for hundreds of years and knows every detail, every light and dark corner, the glory and folly of the human condition.

Lol, you're really not that old mate - I'm surprised you've never heard of Justin Bieber before! Anyway you're very young at heart Rusty and that's all that matters. ;)
HAHA. I'm more than young at heart, Djokovic2011. Read my updated post. ;)

No, I had heard of Justin Bieber in the news. I just didn't know any of his songs. I don't watch TV, and online I tend to pursue other interests. ;)

Ooh this is all very deep for a Thursday night mate. Haha, been a while since I last said that! :p
