Is Murray the biggest bore in tennis?!

I have watched tennis for 35 years and I have never seen such a bigger bore than Murray! This includes the following players.......
Connors in his younger days when he was a punk, Nastase was very bad but he was entertaining at least, Mcenroe was also bad but a good sportsman, Brad Gilbert was pretty awful but still not approaching Murray, Muster was someone you did'nt want to get on the wrong side of, but still not Murray's level!
And of course Stepanek but I think he's not the worse as he has a screw loose and the poor chap already wins the most ugly player ever.
It's been well documented on here about Murray's appalling behaviour at the French open but what does everyone think about him in his only match at Queens this year against Mahut?! I have never seen anything like it!
He was'nt only shouting at the court, he was arguing with it non stop, was he expecting a reply?!
It's a real shame because he is an outstanding tennis player, but he acts like a child with a temperment issue and that's why he's unable to compete at the Slams with the top 3.

Yes, yes he is. Murray is the biggest boar in tennis.

Sometimes Murray's ramblings can be hilarious. I was in tears at some of his outbursts in his US Open semi against Nadal last year.

When things are going his way and he plays well he's a thrilling sight to behold.

Remind me. What exactly was his 'appalling behaviour' at the French Open?

but what does everyone think about him in his only match at Queens this year against Mahut?! I have never seen anything like it!

Watched the match against Mahut and noticed nothing out of the ordinary. He's always been a chunnerer who likes to talk to himself and berate himself when things aren't going well. So what?

And if we want to discuss truly appalling behaviour, how about smashing racquets or breaking a bench as Djokovic did at the FO final or kicking a hoarding to bits and injuring a linesman as Nalbandian did at the Queens final. As far as I'm aware, Murray has never done anything like this. So please try and get things into some perspective here!

Murray is such a talented player, but I do agree he has to "grow up' and not be so "childish" in his behaviour in order to take the next step and become a grand slam champion.

No one plays like Murray, if he actually decides to not act like a spoiled brat then he (in my honest opinion) can be extremely creative in his shot-making, as much as Federer, see any of the vids above.

He can run for balls that Federer would judge too-unclassy to run for, one minute he can counter-punch then next minute play lights out aggressive.

I've been watching Murray since maybe Wimbledon 2008 and I have to say his whole tournament at Australian Open 2010 showed what he's really capable of.

Problem with him in his temperament and his weak-mental strength, along with his 'luck of the lottery' serving.

Some of Murray's reactions after bad points are rather hilarious. It's amazing he still shows that much frustration on a continuous basis so frequently, but never gets old.

well-put on his serving, that gets lost in all the talk of attitude, which i agree with...also rates behind critics of his forehand...first-serve has become huge, but very low- percentage, second weak

Well, he's done fairly well so far with his 'childish' behaviour. Maybe a lot more players on the tour could do with being as 'childish' as you seem to think he is?

To me Murray sometimes behaves like a young man who was denied any opportunity for sharing household with a bigger stronger man who could knock, perhaps a disrespectfully whining, Andy half senseless and order him to stfu and go to his room. He exhibits that kind of petulance of which some authority figure might have productively relieved him by clapping Andy ears and telling him how others in life will expect to be treated versus what sorts of behavior will typically annoy most everyone. It may be too late now because he is a young millionaire.

You do like a tennis discussion don't you JAY? You don't like discussing how fat people are, or how they behave, you like to start threads about tennis - right?

It might interest you and DeShaun to learn that Murray was brought up by his Father from the age of around 9. Any character defects you perceive might be due to the fact that he survived great trauma as an 8 year old - but let's ignore that and instead pretend he didn't have a Father figure.

How dare you OP question the methods of the one who can't win a single slam even if his life depended on it.

Shame on you!!!!

How dare he come close but not quite managing to achieve the highest accolade in his chosen profession?

I wonder if you will do as well in your career as Murray has already done in his.

(btw I'm a Murray hater - just pre-empting the responses of the batz brigade)

The variety and naturaly ability he has makes him very entertaining to watch.

As for his personality, yeah he's alot different to most other players out there. Sure, he's not a robot, he shows his emotions. Like him or not, watching an army of 128 clones every major tournament would be the biggest bore of all.

Batzy boy I think you have a massive crush on Murray?!
A lot of people have suffered more trauma than Murray did and still act with way more class.
I actually know Jamie pretty well (Murray's brother), really nice guy and also a few others that know him and they all say he's actually a pretty nice guy but he's just really thick and just not very bright. I guess that would explain everything and his excuse.

Well, I don't know either Murray personally so I just go on what I see of them on TV and read and hear about them. I really can't see why anyone would get so worked up personally about Murray either way. For me, he is a really talented tennis player who has worked hard to get as far as he has and his results bear this out. On a personal level he comes across to me as a bit shy and a bit nervous but what he says can be really interesting so I doubt he can be as 'thick' as you say. It just annoys me when people refuse to acknowledge this largely because they've got some strange personal bias going on which affects their judgement of him and his potential.

No-one has a 'man-crush' on Murray (he's not really THAT good-looking is he) but plenty of us appreciate him single-handedly keeping the flag flying for British tennis and we leap to his defence when he is unfairly attacked or ridiculed as happens far too often on here. That's all!
