Kerber to Andreescu: you're the biggest drama queen ever"

You quoted someone's imagination from this forum, you are not serious.

I heard a first-hand account, no contest....but if you want to live in denial, go ahead.

While it was an informal report of the event, nothing in it screamed "imagination". In fact, it looks to be rather genuine and I will be surprised to learn that it was drawn out of thin air. Still, if you want, you can contact the poster for further details. Still it is curious that you call such information unreliable, but you will not present any information of your own and expect to proceed to believe something which is not even heard or written by anyone.

You noticed already that I remove your obvious effort at trolling from all the posts I respond (after I noticed that you do that). There is no other explanation as to why you would continue to write that to me, other to be obnoxious on purpose. Perhaps you think that it strengthens your case, I don't know.

This was nothing there is constant drama on wta tour. The one that always sticks in my mind is when vika had a panic attack and left court for like 15 minutes against sloan stevens at aussie open years back. But there are a millon other incidents. Kerb was just frustrated

"Informal"? Come on, it was nothing. A second-hand report of a second-hand report, posted here by a poster...nothing.

I am simply replying to your questions of me....do not feel obligated to prolong the discussion.

I am not asking you for a response now. Sit back and relax.

Just sad she's had such a bad run of injuries. She may end up being like Raonic. Whenever he seems to get on a roll, some injury derails him.

Way too many circular arguments on these threads. She's only retiring in with injury because she's losing. Well maybe she's losing because she's injured? Why isn't that the more logical conclusion rather than conspiracy theory conclusion that its all gamesmanship and fakery.

Just glad her shoulder held together enough to take down Kerber twice in a week lol.

Cool, if that's what you want to believe. Just don't expect everyone else to be this naive. Specially not veterans like Kerber, who has seen other players pull the same stunts.
You are the only one who doesn't believe it.....Kerber believes it now.

Time for you to catch up with the news.

Human psychology 101 : People tend to find a reason to dislike someone they feel threatened by. Most people feel just like Kerber in the given situation they just don't verbalize their feelings.
Thank goodness they don't verbalize their feelings, that would be an anti-social society.

Kerber believes it now.
This must come from the same source as the "shoulder surgery" or the more "accurate" report of Andreescu "accidentally" tossing balls at Kerber... In other words, out of thin air, with not a single online source backing it up like most of the "facts" you posted on this thread

No, but I think that Kerber can read the news. Some of us have trouble doing that.

A veteran like Kerber, who has never made such comments in the past, must have had a strong reason to say this.

Nothing "circular" about seeing someone act sick/hurt/injured/tired, then magically turn on the afterburners to win anyway and conclude that it's gamesmanship and fakery

Come back when you have done some research for a change.

Take a rest or take a hike, whichever you like.
Why don't you post sources for the various unsubstantiated claims you made on this thread to help us with this research? Needless to say, "I heard it on TV" doesn't count.

This "nothing" is better than what you present, and I already told you that you could further inquire about it. The fact that you didn't although it is posted at the beginning in this very thread is telling, isn't it? Why ask about things that go against your chosen stance, right?

Like I said, enjoy your already decided conclusions.

Better than your brilliant contributions to the thread, i.e.: completely fabricated stories, and when asked for an ounce of proof says comes from "networks" nobody else gets.

It can't be that hard to show us proof of that shoulder surgery now, huh? How come something that major doesn't get reported anywhere? Heck, I'll even take a source in Romanian.

But of course we all know there's no proof coming, because you made all of that crap up.

Spat aside, Kerber has probably the most "un-elegant" strokes in the tour. Be it serves or forehand or backhand. Her squat forehand drives me crazy.

Wait. Maybe that title goes to Hsieh. Close call.

Let's not overthink this. The reason is called being hopping mad that she lost to the same 18 year old twice in a week, and she comes off looking like a very poor loser. Yes, she's taken many losses in her career, but not many of this nature after becoming a GS champion, and not when one was the final of a Premier tournament, coincidentally a rank of title that Kerber has never won before. Some losses sting way more than others and these 2 have clearly stung Kerber pretty hard.

The biggest problem I have here is that Kerber would never say this to someone more accomplished than herself. I can guarantee you that. She wouldn't have the guts. Also I think it's pretty early to say a pattern is emerging. If it keeps up into her early-mid 20's I'll concede, but the girl has been on tour for 2 months, barely noticeable but for a week in the desert, and nobody would be saying boo if she hadn't won IW.

It's also very possible for 18 year olds to be injured more than 29-30 year olds. Your body isn't even fully developed at 18, and to be playing 30+ matches prior to MIami it's pretty easy to see that she overdid it, but 18 year olds aren't exactly the world's smartest scheduler's either. At 18 all I wanted to do was play sports, can't speak for anyone else, but that was me. Many people here thought that she shouldn't play Miami.

It's doubtful that Kerber herself even typed that tweet. That's got PR manager damage control written all over it.

And as for NK, I love that he said what he did here because he's 100% right in this instance, but it also highlights his own major problems. He goes around looking for drama on Twitter instead of ignoring things that don't concern him.

At best, we have a clearly biased poster (YOU) relaying a report from a biased Canadian commentator

At worst, we have a clearly biased poster (YOU) completely making this crap up

No news of this supposed "surgery" anywhere, and we are supposed to take your word for it? Good one. :-D

It comes to no surprise that someone like this would support a player with similar moral values

Kyrgios did an amazing job deflecting away from his disgusting rant in doubles.

He abused the chair ump, blatantly swore in front of the ballkids and even looks at one and yet here we are, 6 pages in on Kerber calling someone a drama queen and yet Kyrgios is getting compliments for a tweet instead of being condemned for yet another vile, abusive rant.

I answered your questions more than once, I guess you must be hard of hearing.

You kept telling me how I would be able to have that information if I had access to your broadcasters, which would make sense if there is something that can be accessed to verify your story. If there isn't you were only blowing hot air. As a result your stance suffers.

Kerber saw a girl who looked like she was dying on court one minute, and then running just fine the next. I can't fault her for what she said, and I really hope she stands by it. She's been awfully quiet and unapologetic, so I suspect she will.

While attempting to find evidence of this "shoulder surgery" I came across an article saying she's had back issues last year, on top of stress fractures in her foot in 2016. So she's barely started playing professionally, and she already had foot, back, and shoulder problems. She's either had very bad luck in the genetic lottery, or she's overstating niggling problems every professional player has.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-tennis-andreescu-idUSKCN1R02D1

She hasn't even played all that much. 63 matches in all last year, which is pretty standard (coincidentally that's the same number of matches another Canadian teenager - Denis Shapovalov played). This doesn't look like overplaying.

But something else very bothersome is that she's retired from a number of matches last year but played in the next week anyway:
  1. ITF Playford: retires down 5-7 4-5, plays next week at AO qualies
  2. Davis Cup: retires down 6-4 3-6 0-3, plays and wins her deciding rubber in doubles the next day
  3. ITF Winnipeg: retires down 6-3 4-6 2-4, plays next week in ITF Gatineau
  4. ITF Saguenay: retires down 6-7(4) 0-2, plays next week in ITF Toronto
To me, this is a very disturbing pattern. It makes me question this recent retirement against Kontaveit, and I can't take it seriously as proof that she was actually injured. She is the girl who cried wolf.

The responses to this post of one of Kerber's people (does not sound like Kerber, must be some one else) has attracted a huge negative response from those

who watched the reaction of Kerber to the loss.

These are reactions on Kerber's own post, no less, where you would expect to see a more friendly response.

Now, what happens going forward when these two players meet again (which they eventually will).

How does the air get cleaned? Something has to happen between now and then.

The WTA has to step forward and find a resolution, otherwise we will continue to get these vigilante nonsense attacks on court.

Fair enough. I won't try to change your opinion. Lord knows it probably wouldn't do any good, and that's fine. I don't care, but IMO this has much more to do with Kerber simply being angry about losing twice to someone she probably considers herself to be superior to at this point. I think that's being underestimated, and I have yet to hear a good argument against Kerber likely never in a million years saying something like that to Sharapova or Serena for example. So it's a lot of sour grapes for me.
