While I do like me some NK during the smaller tournaments as he can be entertaining, on the big stage I don't care to see his antics.

With that being said, the way Rafa's side of the draw collapsed today, he might be a much needed spice to this tourney. While I hope Rafa is in the final (want a big 3 showdown), we need someone, anyone to give this tourney a boost in life, at least on this side of the draw.

i believe it would have to be semi-final, but if NK can play lights out tennis and reach the SF in New York, and play Rafa...

Then Rafa would be prepared to smack Djoker hopefully...

Even if Nick makes it to the SF, Rafa will roll over him.
Don't mind his antics and would love to see someone challenge Rafa, but Nick is not in the same league.

Needs way better physical conditioning to have a chance against Rafa. If he can't do it on grass guy isn't doing it anywhere today.

The main thing that's kept the Big 3 going IMO is their professionalism, i.e; their physical conditioning, preparation, etc. Their games have waned but if they are playing a field consisting of guys who lack that same thing they are going to continue to roll over the field.

Nick can make the tournament more enjoyable as a whole depending on the type of play we get from him.

If Fed and Djoker were in opposite halves, I'd be hoping that all the seeded and dangerous players besides them faded away in the earlier rounds, unless they were in line to face Nadal. Now that they are in the top half together, I want all the good players besides them to lose in that half. I couldn't care less how interesting the Fed/Djokovic matches vs the field are as long as either Fed or Djoker win the whole thing. I guess I am a fan of certain players more than a fan of the sport itself.

But please, let the dangerous players in Nadal's half go far :happydevil:.

*Looks at today's match results*

What if I tell you there are none?
I would have to agree with you to an extent. I think it's fairly unlikely anyone in Nadal's half beats him. I thought Thiem and Khachanov both could've threatened. With all the upsets today, all that's left is Shapo, Kyrgios, Zverev, and Rublev. I guess Isner too. I can really only imagine Shapo and Kyrgios having a shot, but don't ever count out Zverev

Kyrgios and Shapovalovovovoov both have to reach SF to even try to touch Rafa. I think it’s more likely that a lightning strikes on me when I’ll go to the shop tommorow.

I never liked Djoker from the beginning, but not sure why hoping Rafa beats Djoker is a "shame?" You do know I am a Fed fan, then Rafa fan? I would not think less of you for saying you hope Djoker... or Nagal smacks Fed...
Whatever. All I know is it's the haters that make me feel so much better about this year's Wimbledon final. Always brings a smile to my face when I think about them.

Okay... I wont think less of you for it either. You should feel great about it. But you do realize not everyone has to like Djoker, just relax, it is just some fun tennis banter between tennis fans. If this hurts your feelings, how do you get through this board? But if hoping "Rafa beats Djoker" gets you upset, how could you like anyone here unless they are a Djoker fan?

You can dislike me, I will live, but I still like my #1 Djoker fan. ;)

If you really think about it there's no reason not to like him as he provides you with everything you need in life - incredible tennis, inspiration to improve oneself, good humour and most important of all, love.

I didn't like the fact this dude just came out of nowhere to win 10 slams and be an ATG. I wasn't following tennis as closely as today in 2011 but when I tuned back in around early 2012 I was surprised he was first in the world.

I've had to play catchup over time from around 2008 to 2011 because I didn't care about tennis much then but I remember the Australian Open between those years, even 2010.

But he's definitely up there. One of if not the greatest of all time.

Why in the world would a Fed fan be rooting for Nadal to get 19 slams?:unsure::unsure::unsure: Is this a typo?
Haha, not a typo, but if someone is going to catch Fed, I want it to be Rafa, not Djoker. Unfortunately for us, I think we can both agree the winner of this USO is either Rafa or Djoker, I will take Rafa any day.

By the way, you were asking me about having a wife that is a Rafa fan and how I deal with it? I said the comments she makes were scrutiatingly painful. Last night during the Nagal match, she had about a 20 Nagal joke's that had something to do with Fed being afraid of Nagal like "Nagal hitting to his backhand" and so forth. It was bad, real bad.

This kinda feels like a now or never type of moment for Nick. The only seed left in his section is Berrettini at #24. The only seed in a potential QF is Monfils at #13.

He had a recent win in DC for confidence, and seems to be perfectly healthy (only 3 matches in Can/Cincy definitely helped ). If he can't reach the semi-finals here, he probably never will.

How the hell did he hit that fh half volley dtl winner without even trying??? He just literally stood up on the spot and guided the ball with telekinesis power or something.

Since when have seeding fallen into place other than the top 3? Seedings in tennis are a joke these day, on the ATP and WTA.

I say screw the seeds and have a pure draw with no seeds. It might actually spice things up.

Unless 2 of the big 3 drew each other in the first round, it probably wouldn't change anything.

They could draw each other in any round, the variety of early match ups and the difference in atmosphere would be interesting.

Obviously I am joking, but I think it would be exciting. Imagine Rafa and Djoker in round 2, and then Fed and Rafa in round 3? Then Fed plays nobodies the rest of the way. I like it. :p

Just hoping kyrgios goes deep like a semi and gathers points to be in contention for Wtf, really would love to see him play there.

Kyrgios could have good run. However, can’t see him getting to the final. I honestly can’t see anyone beat Rafa on his side. Rafa looked great in round 1 and is a big favourite for the final at least!

Kyrgios vs Nadal would be a compelling watch. Not that many other matches I look forward to - Federer vs Djokovic and Nadal vs Djokovic, what's left? There might be a surprise dark horse, maybe Medvedev would be interesting.

Nick’s BS on court fits the NY’er angst for J Mac type players. So the crowds will support it unfortunately. Tennis wise...soooo much tennis to be played, I expect Nick to meltdown before anything interesting can happen. That dude has a luggage rack strapped to his azz to carry his permanent mental baggage. Lol. Like the incredible hulk...just waiting to be setoff.
