As a wrote above, I fear that the BS mains won't last long, when I combine it with a shaped cross string. The Tour Hex crosses will last much longer, that's sure.

Full bed, right?
I just strung up my v7 blade 16x19 with HGS 1.25/tour hex 1.23 at 37/34 lbs and played indoors doubles tonight. Setup was fantastic! I don’t normally like shaped poly cross because they are inherently stiffer but tour hex works amazing as a cross at low tension. It’s funny that I like tour hex as a main or a cross but not full bed. Great tension maintenance, plush but firm feel at low tension. Also have a 2019 VCP97 310 strung with tour hex 1.23/polaris 1.20 and that feels wonderful as well.

Yes, full bed. They do have a really weird smell to it.

I have a reel and didn't notice a weird smell when I got it. Yeah, full bed multi, once they get a little wear on them, don't snap back very well. You might consider using a poly cross like Ghost Wire. The string bed lasts longer and tends to move back into place better. Plus, the setup will only smell 1/2 as bad

Apologies in advance for the off topic but I’m intrigued by polaris, have you played it fb? It’s not on twu database yet, do you have a guesstimate on what its stiffness may be?
No, I haven't played Polaris fb. But I think it's more on the soft side of poly strings.
~4.5 hours with Big Spin+Polaris.
Feel/touch is nice, I was able to execute some very good drop shots. Lauch angle is lower than Big Spin fb, but the spin production was still impressive. At the beginning, my medium swing strokes were often too short, because the spin was "killing the lenght", but after a while I could solve this problem by swinging faster and creating a higher launch angle by my own. Good control, very good stability against hard shots, power was ok, but I guess that I could optimize the performance of this combo by lowering the tension a bit (at least in the cold period of the year) and by stringing the crosses lower than the mains (perhaps 22/21 instead of 23/23 kg) to get a higher launch angle. An other possibility would be to use a thinner gauge of Polaris (1.20 instead of 1.25)...

Here's my quick review of Absolute Perfection:
Durability: I was shock this lasted as long as it did without fraying or snapping. Most multi I use start fraying right away but didn't have that issue here. The downside is that I keep playing until the string break but the longer that I had them in there I start noticing a thwack sound. It was shortly after that I cut out the strings.
Spin: I didn't notice it with this string as I usually am more of a flat hitter. I had some nice launch and depth on the ball when the string was fresh.
Power/comfort: I wouldn't say it's low powered like Velocity where you would have to generate it to get depth. It was a comfortable string and easy on the arm as I hybrid this string with poly in the mains.
Overall, another excellent a addition to the Mayami family. The downside to this string as I mentioned earlier is that it smells kind of funny out of the package and the funny whack sound it makes once you get about the 15 hour mark. The strings isn't as slick as some of the other multi on the market but it's more durable that most is the positive.

The strings moved on me and got out of place when I tried Absolute Perfection in like an hour, which doesn't happen to me with other poly or NG strings when strung competently. I felt very unsure with this string as I felt it wasn't the most consistent. I bet it would be an okay cross. I used it full bed and had it cut out within a few hours. This was the first multifilament I've had strung and it made me think I'm not a multifilament person.
Yes, I would describe the string as "launchy".

I like mutli but as a cross. I tried several brand fb and to me it it's too powerful with no control hence the reason I like doing it as a hybrid but to your point they shouldn't be moving all over the first in the first hour.

The string moved ALOT, even right off the stringer. I thought it played great for a multi though. Not as much power as NRG2 and I didn't seem to struggle with control. I won a couple of matches with them, but ultimately cut them out after about 10 hours since I prefer a full bed of poly and/or hybrid setup. I haven't tried these for a cross string yet but could be something worth experimenting with.

I think this smell can be possible because of how freshly they are produced and shipped almost immediately. I wonder if you could feel it now after some time. Same with tennis balls but as they are sealed there will always be this "smell". Interesting observation anyway. I am not smell expert lol

I haven't tried it yet, but I do have a stick with Absolute Perfection mains in Tour Hex crosses in a 16x20 Pure Strike VS. Nothing really special as far as I can tell since I generally play the set up probably once a week and prefer my Absolute Perfection/Big Spin set up.

Like you said other multis start fraying or notch right away. Absolute Perfection takes its sweet time ... LOL ... The AP/TH combo I mentioned above has been in for three months (I probably only use it once a week because I carry too many sticks in my bag). Four strings are knawed and have been, halfway through and the string still keeps holding on. The plus side: It is just so doggone dependable I don't want to cut it out yet.

Can anyone do an apples to apples comparison of Tour Hex vs Tourna S7T? There seems to be a lot of talk saying they are similar but no direct comparisons (at least from what I can see via the search function).

I would say that S7T is more crisp and more energy return where as tour hex a touch more muted. Very similar though to me.

Tour Hex much more forgiving and comfortable. Slightly more power but still very control oriented,
SIlver 7 Tour much stiffer but more control with better tension stability.
I had MUCH better results with 1.23 tour hex than 1.25 silver 7 tour (IMO much better,neutral response with 1.23 TH vs 1.25 S7T)
But in thicker gauges I think 1.30 Silver 7 Tour provides more spin potential than 1.28 tour hex. (if you can handle the stiffness of silver 7 which is on a level of tour bite while tour hex 1.28 is very comfortable and Im not sure which "control" oriented string has similar comfort, Solinco Confidential after it looses some tension comes to my mind)

I've only hit with Tour Hex once, a long time ago. In this thread, I wrote about it in posts #90 and #120. That was long enough ago that I don't remember hownit felt but based on what I wrote, I'd guess that S7T may be a bit stiffer and with a bit more spin capability.

Out of interest, how long did it take for peoples orders to be delivered? I placed an order on November 26th and the tracking has been stuck on "Item has been processed outward office of exchange and already in transit to destination country" since the 28th (FYI the UK is the destination country), so I am starting to wonder if Mayami's deliveries generally take a while or if its been lost.

I ordered a reel of Absolute Perfection on November 11, they shipped on November 18, got them on December 4. I wasn't all that surprised it took that long with COVID impacting logistics and Ukraine having some newsworthy issues. Then again, I was in no rush. My reel smelled weird so (per some of the comments on this thread) it was likely shipped shortly after being extruded.

Good to know that yours took a little while to arrive as it means mine is unlikely to have been lost. I am in no rush as I still have a 1/4 of my S7T reel and a few random packs lying around, so I'm not going to run out any time soon, its just nice to know what to expect.

FWIW, I've had some reels take two to three weeks coming from Ukraine to the US. Now that there is a US distributor, I generally get reels under a week if it is in stock. Yeah, the situation there is terrible.

I ordered reel of Tour Hex and Hit Pro over Black Friday weekend. Last time I ordered a reel of Absolute Perfection and it took about 3 weeks to arrive.

They opened up a distribution center on the East Coast (New Jersey), so anything shipped within the US shouldnt take too long. I ordered on 11/26 and the strings were delivered 12/3
The new pro shop in my area that just opened up is carrying all their strings. It will be nice to have them available locally. I like their strings. They seem to play every well in my racquets. Since I do not string my own racquets it will save me from having to buy them and the shipping costs added.

It was one of the strings I knew quickest was not for meSo I just played with Absolute Perfection for the first time for ~30min - and it didn't feel good at all. It felt really boardy, and the stringbed is notched up already - with strings sticking out of position. What am I missing??
I used the same tension: 55/53 lbs in a 100in racquet I usually use with multis or syngut.
I normally string Multifeel or Multifeel/Velocity for my kid - but this time I decided to experiment, because I actually like Tour Hex and Magic Twist a lot.
So it's disappointing...

Multi's are great for feel, touch and comfort, but terrible as far as returning back to their position, especially after the coating has worn off. You might try Absolute Perfection mains and Magic Twist crosses, which is one of my favorite setups for doubles.

Good luck. I really think you might like AP mains at 55 and MT crosses at 49.I know this is a really old post, but that was my ideal set-up on Prince Tour 95 Textreme 2019 version until I tried a full bed of Hit Pro. I lost a little spin - not much, but the full bed of Hit Pro gave me more power and greater feel. that suits my game better. The feel and control around the net is so much better.
