We have an older guy that plays the Weed. He can hit a deep slice, short angle slice, lob, and dropshot off the same backswing. His strings are so loose that it makes very little sound when he hits the ball.
He's been ranked top 5 in South Carolina 45/55/65 age-groups for 25 years.
We beat a pair of 5.0's indoors when we were both 4.5.
They kept hitting to him when they should have hit to me. But I had a good serving night, and better than normal returns. I was in my late 20's then and swung from the heels on every shot. My partner was the wise veteran.
It was fun to frustrate them.

Ok... this is more of what I expect from a 5.0 player but with a little less pace and less consistancy. But the same style of game and similar stroke production, this is much more of what I am used to seeing.

I know on the header it lists them as a 5.5 and 6.0 but that would only put one of them half a grade over a 5.0, and from what I see here on the Tennis Warehouse website... the 5.0's play different than this.

That is pretty much the type of response I expected. In fact my partner was previously rated 5.0 and has wins over a lot of 5.0 players, as do I. What you have to take into account is that most 4.5 players can't hit winning overheads again and again, he completely takes you out of your game. Here is another clip, in this one we lost 64, 64 to two guys who both played D1 tennis, one at Boston College and one at Virginia Tech. One of these guys self rated at 4.5, the other one has since been moved up to 5.0. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19ax-k15KVk

Wow these videos are awesome. The only problem is people just discount them saying the 4.5s are better in my area and move on.

Played a pusher about a month ago... The guy was undefeated in our comp cause he was so hard to play cause he would dive for everything, even use his left hand to get hard to reach shots...

I played him, I beat him 6-3, but I'm in no way proud of how I did it. I pushed back. He is used to frustrating players into trying to hit winners from the baseline after 3-4 shots... I frustrated him by ralling for 20 or so shots then coming to the net as soon as he hit a short ball and just placing it wide off the first volley... I didn't hit over 75% all set but hey, it worked. He went off and had a little cry with his dad and since my mates dad and his dad were friends. I won a 6 pack out of it.
