Never seen her before, and she has a very fluid and natural looking game which is pleasing on the eye from the little I see. I'm not even going to try and guess about the future of women's tennis, however (lol).
My last big pick was Bencic (from years back). It's not yet come to pass.

Looool amazing how much truth there may well be to this. I think if someone truly special comes along though that it should be possible to break through quite early? Serena is old, tour isn't that great etc.

Can we stop giving these great talented players spotlights at an early age? Look what happened to Gabriella Price and Maria Shishkina. It got to their heads and their families heads, now they're both using the "prodigy" tag in everything they do.
If she's accomplished in 10 years, then yes she definitely worked hard and it payed off. For now, let her play tennis and hopefully enjoy it, and maybe she'll grow successful.

Happens more often than you think. They iust never develop past juniors to be formidable to win the professional.
I like how one of the coaches made a point in the interview that they don’t treat her differently for winning a junior grand slam. Couldn’t be more healthy for player and character development, especially for a teenager. It’s like, it’s great and we celebrate, now back to work.

Hingis won 3 slams and almost won all 4 as a 16-year-old. Amazing how much expectations have plummeted for up-and-comers since then.

What she has already accomplished in her tennis career probably puts her in the top 000001% percent of people that have ever picked up a racquet. Not saying she is a first-ballot hall of famer yet. But props to her, just for accomplishing what she has so far.

I just learned that she beat Bencic in this tournament. And that she almost beat Andreescu in Australia. Impressive results for someone who is restricted by wta age rules.
She plays Collins on Stadium court tonight, very interested to see how that goes.

Hingis wouldn’t do that in today’s game. It isn’t hit the gsme is overall better, but that the tour, on average, is just more athletically trained (sports medicine, trainers, nutrition, exercise/lifting, etc).

Rare female player who can hit the ball on the rise and her ball toss isn’t a complete mess. Great contact point on that BH. Seems pretty “can’t miss,” but this is the crapshoot known as the WTA so who knows.

She seems like a really high end prospect. Possibly the best since the Williams sisters/Henin/Clijsters with her easy power and how she moves. Like Felix on the men's side, a totally different category of athleticism than her peers. But at 16, a lot can change. I wonder how she'll grow into her frame because she's a little smaller than the Williams/Clijsters, more like Hingis/Henin. Obviously power doesn't seem to be an issue for her though. But generally I feel most of the ATG women are like in the 5'8"-5'10" with Venus and Evert the exceptions at either end.

These is alot of talent now in the woman’s 15-19 age category! At least 6 hopefuls for top 10 rankings. I think Bianca Andreescu will be a top ten for sure! Others not so much!
