Tried Acura Control in a Volkl C10 pro at 55#. Great control, not so much pop. Wonder if this is an alternative to Head Rip Control? Price is right

I don't know if those are the same strings or not. My guess is that they probably are. As for for the other Pro's Pro strings, I have not tried them. Check out post #1 of this thread for all the multis I've tried to date.

Anyone try any of these Pro's Pro multis yet?

I do as well. I haven't tried a gut/poly setup yet, but when I do I'm going to cross the gut with Black Iontec.

Mikeler, if I use a multi with a poly, would you use the multi as a main or cross?

I have not tried a multi/poly setup because I don't think it would last very long. Poly in the mains should provide more spin which is better for me too.

I've tried multi mains poly crosses. It plays well but durability is terrible. At least you won't be keeping your strings on your racquet long after the strings die.

Got to the door of **** today but had to scurry back to the hotel. I'm still hoping to drop in there 1 day this week.

Dropped in **** today and asked if they sold a half set of their new multifilament string. The girl in there said sure, did a few hand to hand measurements, snipped the string, put it in a Zip Lock bag, took my credit card and I was out of there.

It was a fairly small place. The multi is rather yellow in color. I'm guessing it is a well known multi with some dye added but it looks to be high quality. I'll test out the 3 new Genesis multis in a few weeks and then try out the **** one after that.

Mikeler, I know it was a long time ago but what is the power level like with the Intellitour hybrid? (Reference strings would be good.)

Mikeler, ever try any Zyex strings? Bought Prince Premier blindly and sent both Premier w/Softflex and Premiere Zyex.

Our local shop has 30% strings for the next week. I thought about picking up a set of Gamma Pro.

Bought a dz BITD at $7/set. Had to re-string every 2 weeks or 12 hrs because of the loss of tension. Not sure if 30% off is an incentive. Btw, had the same problem with every Gamma TNT string.

Mikeler I am loving TF X1 Biphase 17 or 18 mains in my Head Prestige MP. I cross it with TF Red Code 18. The X1 in 17 is $275 a reel, which is pretty steep. Anything cheaper that is close to the biphase that you know of? Thanks!

No, it is a pretty unique string.

So mikeler, why multis?

theres a plethora of monos, nylons, sythetics, materials, etc that aren't poly or kevlar. Some poly even feel as soft as a multi. Does the playability of all these other strings not interest you? I'm just wondering cause, i would guess you have more then solid form and could easily discern the difference between playability of strings. Meaning i trust your judgement enough to do so. I remember you made a Mikeler poly thread. What happened to that?

I'd be lucky to make it 2 matches most of the time with synthetic gut monos before they snapped. I did recently pick of Babolat NVy which would probably be considered a mono.

There is no poly that is as soft as a multi for me. I tried all the supposed soft ones and my arm says that "soft poly" is an oxymoron.

I'm hoping to try some Iontec black eventually possibly to pair with NVy or Discho Microfibre. If I do try it, I'll reopen the Mikeler's Polys thread. My game is made for poly strings with the spin I hit, the old arm just has trouble with it.

Curious, would NG last 3-4X as long as your best multis?

There is no way a full set of natural gut lasts that long. I have play tested many multis and for me, they are about the same in terms of durability. Both strings are not slippery unless they put a coating on them which once dry, will start to cause friction and will end up sawing each other.

Go with a gut/poly and you will get the best results including improve control, spin, power, and comfort. Only downside is price.

I took that pic a few hours ago. Will not playtest it until January.

Let me know how if they are crispy :). I am back to using Kirschbaum Touch until the rainy reason is over and then will switch back so I guess I do have a reason to keep using multis after all.

I wish Laserfibre Super Natural Pro Stock was still around so I can at least try the best multi ever made :(.

I have now my 2 EXO Graphite 100's strung with Yonex PTGP 1,25 yellow poly in mains and SignumPRO Micronite on crosses. I can guarantee you that it is as soft as I can imagine, softer than Syngut fullbed or Prince premier LT (which is my 100% favorite multi)

i would take those full bed but i was just wondering what tension do you recommend? and by the way, do you have any experience on how long they last?:)

A girl should always pull her nylons to the maximum tension so that they shred easily as soon as the match starts.

I'm going to have try gut/poly again. The Exo Tour is so low powered, I strung my last two rackets at 50 pounds with the Discho Microfibre. It also breaks strings like no other racket.

I'm looking forward to trying out the **** but I have to test the Genesis strings first.

I saw the Mikeler's Nylons comment and I knew trouble was brewing. Funny stuff. :)

Ever try the string inserts to reduce movement and save your strings?

I have not tried those yet. I'm not going to mess with the Exo for awhile. No lead, no inserts etc. My arm is at 95% and getting better slowly but surely. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Btw, ever try Allen Iverson's or the Hingis arm sleeve to warm your arm?
