Come prepared or don't come at all. I'm prepared for the first round elimination.

Lose our humor and we lose everything.

Humour is great and Andy has shown many times he has one of the best senses of it. But talking yourself down, even in a humorous or light-hearted way, often denotes a state of mind. Can you imagine Fed or Rafa or Novak ever saying they had no chance to win anything that they haven't yet won even as a joke?

PS. Who is that in your picture?

Michael Scofield from Prison Break, a character played by Wentworth Miller

That is Wentworth Miller. Otherwise known as Michael Scofield from Prison break. The actual quote is more like, ''If we lose hope we lose everything.'' I still have hope. :p

And I couldn't imagine those other geezers saying it. That is part of our Muzziah charm.

I wonder if Murray will take part at the Australian Open, if he's in pain and movement is impeded playing Bautista-Agut really isn't going to help.

Dependent on his future plans if he does play next week I fear it could be as a farewell.

He should not take part as it is clearly pointless. He's obviously still in pain and can't move the way he used to do. What possible chance does he have against an in-form player like RBA who just beat Djokovic for the Doha title? It will just be another humiliating beatdown!

As I said in the AO thread, I have finally accepted that he is done although it kills me to say it. I think he knows this himself but is just being too stubborn to admit it. I now fully expect a retirement statement from him very soon.

Andy's career-killing hip injury has been by far the worst thing to happen since I first joined this forum back in 2011. I still cannot believe that this has happened and I'm having to post about him like this. If anyone had predicted this 2 years ago I would have laughed them to scorn. If only, if only...........!!!:cry::cry:

If he's still in pain/uncomfortable then like Mainad said it's pointless to play the tournament. Playing against RBA is not gonna help either. I don't think that if he plays he'll get humiliated by that guy, but he definitely doesn't have a chance at all with his hip still being a problem.

speaking to a few people close to the Murray camp, Andy's considering to retire at Wimbledon

That really sucks. After 2016 I was hoping to see him at his best at least 2 more years. Not only he wasn't at his best, he got a terrible injury that might end his career at 32 years old.

I'm gonna cry now.

Could that be why he didn't get a different clothing deal? He got multi year offers and didn't know if he'd play that long?

Looking back, his playstyle over the bulk of his career has been incredibly punishing on the body. He's not naturally atheletic like Nole, and there's a bit less less economy in his gamestyle imo

That would of course be the ideal place to do it if he can last out that long and it may be that he should do like Ferrer is doing and just play a limited schedule until then and avoid any best of 5 events! :(

I have never been a fan of the “Doubting Thomas” designation. I believe it makes light of a very real spiritual and emotional turmoil occurring within the life of the disciple and within countless people throughout history. The term can lead one into the assumption that Thomas must have been a second-rate disciple if not even something worse. But Thomas was not a second-rate disciple. He was a man who had been hurt. He was a man whose hopes had been crushed. Thomas believed in Jesus. He had followed Jesus and had made the decision to set his life by Jesus. Now, Jesus had been killed – even dying the death of a common criminal. The weight of the world’s sin, violence and injustice had crushed Thomas’ hope. So Thomas says, “Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands and put my fingers into the nail marks and put my hand into his side, I will not believe (Jn 20:27).

What is your favourite Murray moment?

I watched the US Open final into the small hours with my dad.

We’ve never really had a close relationship but there was something special about that night and how we bonded over Murray’s win.

And that’s probably what I’ll treasure most about Murray, how he made me, and others close to me, feel when he was taking on the world - it was uniting.

A legend.

I'm going into Duran Duran mode.

All have our ways of dealing with it.

I couldn't name one moment. The moment on my mind right now is that one I've posted a billion times. When he won Rome on his birthday and then the song came on.
