Nadal and Nole in RG: Serves

This is a site that enjoys stats, one of the reasons I like it so much. Was just running some numbers on Nadal's and Djokovik's serving in RG so far. For those interested here's the % of serve points won, for the first, second, and third match.

Nadal: 76.3%, 63.4%, 62.5%
Nole: 68.9%, 78%, 80.2%

So Nole's serve is improving as RG unfolds while Nadal's is getting worse. Of course Nadal, like all great champions, has a habit of rising to the occasion and so may get better if he has to face Nole.

If Nadal's serve is getting worse how is he winning so easily? At least for his most recent match, the reason is his opponent has an even worse serve. But that won't help him much against Nole.

Probably because we're tired disecting Rafa vs Nole. We all know both bring their A+ games against each other in slams rendering all of their previous matches in the tourney leading up to their matches irrelevant.

Oh, so now we're all becoming rational in our discussions?

Hmmm.. Not feeling the love here people. No comments?

To feel the love here Gabe you have to be a funny smart a*s.

Clever stats such as your will fall on deaf ears mostly. Plus your a rookie so anything you say will be mostly ignored.

That's how it is in these places. Not saying it's right or wrong - just how it is.

Also you need the status of having been around a while. I'd love to do some stats on who decides to stay here on this list, and how many rookies just leave due to THEIR feeling unwelcomed......

Again - that's how it is in these places - Not criticising just observing ....

Also if you are suggesting Rafa will lose - You ain't gonna get no friends here.

Rafa is God here - suggest he is from Finland - and you is gonna get FINNISHED your self. Like wise any of the big 3

Place is full of Fanboys that make an Isis platoon look like a bunch p*ssy cats... Not that there is anything wrong with Fanboys. - I'm a Fan Boy, I'm Raonic fan ...... ROTFLMAO !

Would love to see how much they are winning behind those first serves, it's a ridiculous high first serve percent for Nole. Can't recall the last time I saw him serve near 80 two matches in a row

Oddly enough, Rafa hasn't been broken thus far.

So if his serve is stastically getting worse, he's still found a way to hold it every time.

You gotta be kidding me. Nadal got broken at least once in every single match: 1x vs Halys, 1x vs Almagro, 2x vs Kuznetsov

Djokovic got broken once in each of the first rounds, but faced no break points vs Kokkinakis.
Though this might be more because of how bad the Kokkinakis return is than Djokovic's serve.

Gilles Muller isn't a great returner either, so I wouldn't read too much into these stats.
