Will he reach 500 clay wins ?

Should be around 465 wins by the end of this year.

It will be close; i expect him to retire by 37.

If the claycourt season was as long as the hard court season Nadal would have been YE World No. 1 for 12 years.

And if the grass was season was as long as the hard court season, Federer would have been year end number one for 12 years also.

Part of the problem for Djokovic is as you say. Two majors on his best surface yet still some way behind on major count his two nemesis's probably will count against him with the media. He also has most m1000s on his best surface yet only one ahead of Nadal and Federer never had one m1000 on his beat surface.
GOAT debate media wise likely to be Nadal v Federer. Certainly recently seems the narrative

Lets talk when their careers are over. Plenty left to play for. The numbers are changing all the time between the three.

Im not giving my opinion on this just the media perception. I actually think it may end with Nadal as slam leader and Djokovic level with Federer. Personally i think whatever happens there is an argument for all three and Sampras and Borg to be GOAT as well as Laver depending on a point of view.
Media spin is what i am talking about.

I am not interested in media perception, only in records, achievements and milestones when discussing the big three some of those are factual numbers and historical things. Media perception means nothing to me when I discuss who was the greatest.

Right now Djokovic is 3rd on the basis of the above. Definitely feels nice in Nadals tree now.
Hoping Rafa holds back tomorrow v Tsitsipas. I like it when he is written off going into RG. Last year the narrative was wonderful and helped Rafa as he loves shutting people up.

I have always held Federer and Nadal ahead of Djokovic, never changed that. However having said that, they are all playing, so I would like to see what happens when they all put the ball and racket down for the last time.

As for Nadal and Federer, right now I have Federer ever so slightly ahead, but as soon as Nadal wins RG this June which I am fully expecting him to, I will have Nadal above Federer. Where we go from there, we will see.

However, what the media says doesn't impact my personal thoughts and views, I am only interested on what the big three do on the court.

Now he should stick exclusively to grass for the next 5 years for that sweet 450 trifecta

This is type of thing Novak would do, no. He is more obsessed with these kinds of records than me, no. Of course I would love to win the most grand slams in the history, but if it doesn't happen, I will be satisfied with my career. I achieved more than I ever dreamed possible, no. You cannot worry if someone else has a bigger boat than you or has records you don't, no. It is not healthy.

I have Nadal ahead of Federer as i am his fan lol. Equal majors gives me that luxury.
That said i feel the lack of grass events is unfair to Federer. I also think the Nole Slam was massive.
Like i say all three have arguments.
So many hard court events is why we now have so many one dimensional players on tour. I love hard court tennis just wish we could have equal spread of events across surfaces

I don't see any issues with people having Nadal ahead of Federer now, as I said, it is very close between, so either way is plausible in my eyes.

Yes, all three have arguments, and we just have to wait and see what the final numbers will be. I have feeling those numbers are going to change for a while yet. The only thing I will not agree on is the significance of a record or milestone depending on the media narrative, not interested in how they want to spin it, only interested in trophies, titles, records, real numbers.

How come a clay courter with a clay skewed career has almost all of the versatility records (surface slam, only player with 450+ wins on multiple surfaces, ...)?

Because it's a myth propped up by supporters of his rivals who know that if all these versatility records he holds were more advertised, his case for GOAT would be even stronger in the court of public opinion. So it needs to be played down and the "only great on clay" thing needs to be played up.

Yeah, Nadal is actually the most versatile out of Big3. Cement and grass is basically the same surface in the way they’re played, so not much versatility needed to dominate them simultaneously, really. Djokovic and Federer having a massive fast court skew to their resumes.

Nadal even has a 5-4 HC slam H2H vs Hardcourt GOATs :D
He has the same number of Wimbledons as Fedovic have FOs.

Djokovic has 6 titles in 2 slams off his best surface, Nadal also has 6 in 2 slams off his best surface (4 USO, 2 Wimbledons) and I'm not even talking about his AO title.
