Nadal Presser...worrying

So in his presser Rafa went into full Tsitsipas love and peace mode saying the final not that important as what matters is the show and takimg the less fortunate who are struggling in these times minds off their problems.
Personally i find that a bit soft and defeatist. Almost as if he expects to lose and is trying the perspective angle.
I would rather hear him be honest and say this match is massive. History is on the line. He said i am beatable and started a selfish tour. He was smug after AO 2019 final and i want this badly. I want revenge and i am going to take it right out of his rear end.
We know both will be thinking like that.
Djokovic seems more bullish and i think in the mind game war it is 1-0 Djokovic.
I therefore now have changed my mind and think Djokovic in 3 close sets winning 2 TBs.
"Tsitsipas love and peace mode" is Nadal's trademark. He's the OG Zen warrior of tennis. Tsitsipas is just more poetic with his thoughts.

text: "these are not the times to be talking up a mere tennis match when the peoples of the world are struggling, no."

subtext: "the djokovic is a reckless baby and i will pummel him into the clay to make an example out of him and punish him for his transgressions."

i understand that it's not easy to pick up on this unless you are fluent in Bull.

"To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand the Nadal"

It's Nadal's way. He was always very respectful towards Federer before their slam meetings and more often than not proceeded to go on court and give Roger a lesson in tennis.

Whatever happens, let's hope both men play to their full potential and do justice to our fine sport.

The Nadalwringerering is probably the only endearing characteristic of the VB.

EDIT: maybe it should be Bullwringerering?

What if Nadal is simply less obsessed than his fans? He has been around for a while, won plenty and hasn't got anything to prove to anyone. Even if he loses tomorrow there is a very high chance that his 20th slam will eventually come, mostly likely in Paris, and even if it doesn't it's not the end of the world to him. 19 slams is enormous number already and he will go down in history books as the greatest player on clay. He will give it a good go as it's his best surface and "his" tournament, but I don't think he will be crying in his pillow if he loses tomorrow. I will be happy if either on them wins tomorrow and want to watch a good match.

What is bad about being humble? Yes, he doesn't want to put too much pressure. There is nothing wrong about it. He doesn't need extra pressure.

You think Ivanisevic's interview about Nadal having no chance is better? Maybe he is right, but it doesn't sound good.

I really wish Nadal's fans would all be like this. But unfortunately we have the likes of @Yugram who always hype him. His "tactic" is to disappear for a while after every loss, because he knows otherwise he will get bashed for his failed predictions.
Unfortunately, you are calling yourself a Rafa fan and somebody even believes that you aren't an impostor.

Nadal has been like that for so many years, usually focusing in public on his real or presumed weaknesses and downsides. I guess it is just his way to approach a match, always trying to see the possible improvement and going for it but never quite reaching his perfectionist game goals.

Not bad that he is collecting so many titles on his way to never fully reach his goals :)

What semis did you watch ??

:-D :-D :-D

Novak was deadly.

Rafa was laborious.

I'll be happy Sunday if Rafa manages to win one single set.
If Djokovic is not willing to grind, he'll lose in straight sets.
And Djokovic didn't look willing to grind in the SF.
Djokovic looked impatient and erratic.
It is impossible to hit through Nadal on this court, especially this year because Philippe Chatrier is 8% slower than last year (Mark Woodforde said this stat during commentary).

You're a Nadal fan and surprised by this? He always downplays the importance of matches like this but based on his results, he really doesn't mean it.
He's as fair weather a fan one can get. Not sure what his play is, changes his thoughts every minute. Stopped reading his posts now simply because of that.
