Absolutely legendary performance from Giannis. This has got to be one of the best, if not the best, Finals debuts ever. 35/13/5 on 61% shooting, a 50 point game, and one of the greatest defensive plays ever. This is the stuff of legends.
Gutted for CP though. This was likely his last shot at a ring.

Well now that the season's over, let's get to the off season and free agency. Where will Kawhi go? Who lands Lillard in a trade? Will CP opt out? And what about the draft? Cunningham is the presumptive #1, but will it be Green or Suggs at #2? What about Evan Mobley? Lots of questions to be answered. Feel free to leave your thoughts.

I still think healthy Nets are going to destroy anyone they meet though. Hope we can finally get some full strength teams next year.

I do find it hilarious how hyped the 'young core' was only to be swiftly dealt when Bron decided they weren't cutting it. I know every fanbase has idiots and I am friends with a few Lakers fans, but sheesh. In all seriousness Kuzma is 25, he barely has potential anymore. He has never had even one good playoff game, lol.
I do think there will be a flurry of moves including searching for a Schroder S&T now though. I will hold judgement for a couple weeks, but I don't think this is the right move either way.

Did you ever see the Kuzma > Tatum ilk? I swear to god they existed lol. Not so much anymore.
But since they were in the same draft class I often saw Lakers fans actually try to say Kuzma was better.

LOL that's why I added that "if." I've given up on my boy becoming a 1st-rate floor general or a semi-decent shooter. What he (still) has is freakish athleticism plus endless hustle, but unless he ends up with a respected disciplinarian like Pop I don't see anyone reining him in enough for any of that to matter.
Don't pay much attention to the regular-season MLB so I'll take your word for it. I'm just somewhat bummed that Max won't be ending his career with the Nats after the fantastic '19 run.
That really is hysterical. Even worse than the old CP3-Deron debate which actually had some merit early on.

Man that was blasphemous. It was a small minority but even their rookie seasons Tatum was clearly better. By the time he led his team to an ECF Game 7 it was NID.
I grew up in Durham (Duke territory) so was very familiar with Tatum coming into the league. He had superstar written all over him at Duke to me, I can't believe Fultz went #1 that draft.
Let's be nice... Prime Deron was legitimately a top 3 or 4 PG. I don't think Kuzma will even come close to being as good as a player like Rudy Gay for example.

Agreed, I remember saying Tatum was the next Paul Pierce after watching him at Duke. Funnily enough - this was before he was drafted by the Celtics. And even more funnily enough - he will probably end up better than Pierce.
The Celtics are my team so if they p.iss away Tatum and Brown I won't even know what to say.
I'm already mad enough that Favre/Rodgers won 2 combined Super Bowls.
I don't know if I'll survive Boston wasting Tatum/Brown if they do.

My brother is a Duke alum so it's a small world after all. So I've followed Duke pretty closely as a result over the years.

I’m such a traitor man. I grew up a Duke fan but went to UNC for school, somewhere along the way now I’m a UNC fan. My hometown group chat flames me nearly weekly for this. I could never hate either school though and I still pull for Duke to win a title if they get that far.
Tbh though I haven’t enjoyed Coach K’s one and done shtick this past decade though and aside from Zion they’ve had some really disappointing 5 star recruit busts. K becoming a knock off Calipari in his final years is quite a disappointing outcome, their program used to be so much greater than that. It’s not just me who feels that way, my best friend is upset that they have basically abandoned the relationship building and player development model that we loved growing up. Hard to feel as connected when the team completely changes annually.

That's awesome. Both are two of the best schools in the country. Can't really go wrong with either. I always joked I'd go to Duke but date a girl from UNC if I could choose any school to play basketball for (in this hypothetical I'm good enough for that, of course)

He's a Duke fan since he was in diapers and knew he wanted to go to school there - so he's seen the different eras of the team. He absolutely hates the OAD Duke era. He says it basically killed the Duke-UNC rivalry, and that he hates learning a brand new team every year.
He at least picked the perfect time to go to Duke though, he was an undergrad and then a grad student during their 2 most recent titles. I cannot understate how jealous I am of that (I went to Michigan State undergrad and in my own traitorous act went to Michigan for my graduate studies). I always root for the Green and White though.
I got the small consolation of my alma mater being the ones to knock Zion's Duke out but we didn't win it all as you and we all know

I hated UNC with a passion while I was there and ended up finishing my undergrad at a school in the UNC system. Like I told you before, we're in the same boat. I am still bitter about some of the UNC/NC State games. Lol

No it was Matt Doherty while I was there, and I only stayed at NC State for a couple of years. We have 10 ACC titles. We just haven't won one a really long time. Lol
Two girls I went to high school with went to UNC and we rode home together sometime on the weekends. Their attitudes were different when they went to UNC. And yea we can always brag that our engineering program craps on theirs, haha, although they are really high up in the arts/business dept.

I just want to apologize for 2009 personally. First season I ever saw a UNC game at the Smith Center actually. Ty Lawson had like 21 and 10 and barely looked like he was trying.
I still think I'd pick '09 Carolina over any college team in history the more I think about it.
