Hey guys! Was just stumbling over on Instagram and saw this new new Babolat Blacked out Box Beam framed racquet labeled the "PTG004" ... The picture post was originally posted by Babolat themselves captioning "Coming soon...#strikefirst"

Here is an image of the racquet/post on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/100921316@N06/9608547945/

So what are your thoughts. I personally love box beam frames on racquets and it looks like Babolat are going for more of a traditional players style racquet to replace the Pure Drives? Pretty excited over here.
Any news, has anyone else heard of this new racquet??

Hopefully it's another playtest racquet! Hope I can bag myself one of those too!

Also, that picture is the cover photo of the Babolat Facebook page.

Yes, well, the australian video clearly showed Strike, but who knows and the reality is that waiting is not really a problem.

I recall Forget was demoing a blacked out prototype of that ^ frame as early as January in Melbourne, when he was playing the AO Invitational Doubles.

Not replacing the pure storm. Pure storm isn't going anywhere, just a new line. Looks really sweet though. 16x19 but some different spacing in the string pattern if I'm not mistaken.

Nice one, Jo Willy also demoed it last January & quite a lot of other Babolat players..it is now finished & should be out for next AO.

It will be interesting to see which players switch but lots of guys who tried it last June are seriously considering changing.

To OP - it is not replacing Pure Drives-that will still be outselling everything for quite a few years.

We will see how the market decides on these new lines.
