I'm diggin' T1 firewire boost 16g in Clash Tour at 53/51...but a little too soft in such a soft frame for me, but great spin... Going to try it in 17g in my Yonex VCP 97

Poly/poly doesn’t suit me, you won’t get maximum power, even if you used oversized racquets that still won’t help but it does help spin with less pace.

I v heart about M 2 pro-Alu, but no experience myself with such expensive hybrids.
In general shouldnt the softer string be the mains and the stiffer as cross?

Using Neon Dust Hybrid rn. It is great. I think Liquid Neon Dust is the true hero of this setup. Very soft feel with long dwell time. I am going to try it with Tourbite mains soon.

Hey guys im aware this is a poly hybrid thread but wanted to ask something regarding a full poly setup, i am currently using 4g rough @ 4g lbs on a pro staff 97 cv, and im trying out some solinco strings since they are a cheaper alternative since i am breaking 4g every 8 hours, i tried barb wire and it lasted me 5hrs so looks like i wont be going with that. About to try Tour Bite Soft tried it a little bit and it felt pretty similar, anyone have any thoughts on the TBS, and any other solinco strings i should try out that would be similar to 4g rough? Thanks.

Thinking of doing something like Hyper G x Isospeed Cream. I'm switching to a Babalot Aero Tour and want to temper the "pop" without exacerbating the harshness of the racket. Thoughts?

i tried cream 16L crosses in my diadem elevate tour and it broke in center after 4-5 hours, no idea why as I never break crosses but I could tell that the string was completely flattened pancake style in the sweet spot hitting zone. I think SPPP or proline ii would go well as cross if you’re looking for soft low powered string

Get some Bear Claw. I find a lot of soft strings are pretty powerful, but this one has tons of control and great spin. It's a small company, but they started here on TTW. I got a reel and it's well worth it.

Two very nice combinations...
Oehms Black Pearl Rough/ Tier One Ghostwire
Diadem solstice power/ Tier One Ghostwire
The latter has a little more power but both are great in terms of control, spin and comfort.

For control and bite, Tour Bite Soft 1.20/Mosquito Bite red 1.16 @51/50 was the best I've tried. It was in my Biomimetic 200. But what was odd was there was very little feel. Control w/o feel? Go figure. But the ball was going to the targets surprisingly well. And it was very comfortable with a lot of bite.

I’m hitting Kirschbaum Super Smash Spiky mains and Cyber Blue crosses in my Dunlop 4D100s. Good pop, good spin, and too little time to tell how long the playability will last. Seems like a good idea, smooth cross and rough main.

Title of thread should be "The Black Hole of Poly-Poly Hybrids." There isn't enough time in the Universe to describe possible combinations of this hybrid.

Tourbite 1.20/Polytour Fire 1.20

Lots of pop and very playable. Both strings are relatively lively and playable and they yield the sum or their parts and nothing more. Great spin, obviously. This is a good combo, but not a great combo. The biggest down side is the playability let down due to PTF. After a few hours it is noticeably deader.

7/10.

Sounds like any shaped/textured poly + Ghost Wire cross is a winner.

Well not exactly....
Durafluxx/Ghostwire did not have the control I expected... same goes for black knight/ghostwire.... I also did not like as much mantis tri-spin/ghostwire.

It seems though that the shaped polys that have similar or more power than ghostwire go well together (ghostwire is medium power poly, durafluxx and bk are low powered).
Up to now I have tested the following mains with ghostwire 1.17 crosses for an average of five hours at tensions around 22-23 kg (16x20):

(exc>vg>good>ave)
Oehms Black Pearl rough 1.21 (medium power, vg control, vg spin, vg comfort, excellent feel, excellent tension maintenace)
Diadem Solstice Power 1.20 (medium high power, vg control, exc spin, vg comfort, excellent feel, vg tension maint.)
Mantis Tri Spin (medium-low power, average control, vg spin, good comfort, vg feel, exc tension maint.)
Tier One Durafluxx 1.18 (lowish power, vg control, good spin, good comfort, average feel, exc tension maint.)
Tier One black knight 1.18 (black knight bothers my arm a little so I cut it out early)
Lux Alu power (high power, vg control, good spin, vg comfort, exc feel, less than average tension maint.)
Lux Alu power rough (look above with a little more spin)

Testing combinations is fun but I do want to settle eventually... Right know my two most favorite setups are 1. full bed durafluxx 1.18 and 2. oehms bpr 1.21/t1 gw 1.17

there are a few more combos in the pipeline though...

signum pro poly plasma is like that for me. I tried ghostwire and moderately enjoyed it but SPPP jus takes the cake. It is soft low powered and provides great tension maintenance. What more can u ask from a cross string?

I tried this in my Dunlop Aerogel 200, which filters out some of the feel from the strings. So I usually use either dead or muted feeling strings in it. The hybrid combo is:

Hyper G 1.15 / Black Force 1.14 @52/52

It's like butter in this racquet, maybe more damp in your racquet. I have some Eruption to try in place of the Hyper G to try and save some money.

BHB7 mains with Pro's Pro Red Devil crosses - spinniest of these three
BHB7 mains with Clarke Pit Viper crosses - decent spin
Clarke Pit Viper mains with Pro's Pro Red Devil crosses - seems to last best when playing on har-tru

Some of my faves:

ALU Power Ice/Polytour Fire (I call it the icefire setup :giggle:) also Hawk RPM (all three) and Revolve work as crosses here

Spiky Shark or Ultracable or Blue Rock 'N Power or Hyper-G or Tour Bite/RPM Rough or Revolve or Hawk or Polytour Fire or RPM Team

4G/4G Soft

Solstice Power or Elite XT/Flash

Hurricane Feel/PHT and PHT/Hurricane Feel (discontinued hybrid )

That's it for now from me :)

Oh ok, thanks. Will take a look at it when through the reel of BHS7T. Believe I have hit some combinations with the Tourna strings that will make it hard to buy any other string.

SPPP is jus a really great cross string...smooth round soft low powered with great tension maintenance

Cool, sounds like it would be good for Gut/poly.

I also strongly recommend Tourna Black Zone as a cross. Extremely slick and smooth. Good price too.

Very underrated string imo. I've been using it for about 60 years now. One of these days I'm going to try it full bed not just cross.

Klip Legend/Tourna Black Zone is what I am playing now in the RF97. Liking it better than VS/4g.

Alright guys, looking for a new setup on a Babalot Pure Aero. Here's what I have on hand:

Hyper G, BHB7, Ghostwire, Cyclone, and Klip Legend (though I know that's Gut technically lol)

Thinking Hyper G or Cyclone in mains and Ghostwire in the crosses (or picking up SPPP as a cross).

Thoughts / recommendations?

I actually am running a CES Neon Hybrid right now. The string bed is a bit harsh and erratic after a short amount of play but the initial play was awesome.

I'll probably end up with a full bed of Hyper G at a higher tension to tame the power, Cyclone at the bottom of the tension range or what USPTARF97 recommended and go BHB7 / Gut.
