New Yonex Vcore (for 2020 or 2021 ?)

I am also curious about the upcoming Vcore line. I would guess the Vcore 100 plays very similar to the Ezone 100 but the frame is slightly thinner (1mm) in the hitting zone. Not sure if that makes any difference.......Interesting that the Vcore 100 got way inferior review than the Ezone 100......mainly comfort level was supposedly inferior.
I have tried the Babolat Pure Aero a few times and was not a fan of the very open string pattern. Launches the ball a bit too easily unless hit with great topspin all the time. Not sure if the Vcore 100 is kind of like that......?

I would say they play different. VCore is more direct and stiffer, brassy feeling, more open pattern, less control more feedback aka crisp feeling.
Ezone is softer, more comfortable, more controlled tighter string pattern also more muted. For me power was similar. Liked hitting both but VCore for me was a bit too wild, it was harder to find the target but easier to create spin. More like easy racquet for anyone. But feel was better with Ezone and serves too.
I decided to buy Ezone and have no regrets.
Ezone PTP 1.25 24/33
VCore RPM Blast 1.25 25

I am hoping that they keep the pj as similar to what it is now.
There were quite a few Vcore 98's and 100's that were used by pros at RG and they were all still using the all red. It looks really cool, imo.

8-BBreaking news : I don't know if it's true but, a friend of mine in contact with Yonex France and Yonex Germany told me that Yonex could be discontinuing the current Ezone serie. They told him that the Osaka limited version was just to liquidate/sell out the last mold before intrioducing a new model. He doesn't know if it will only be/man a new paintjob for the entire line or new specs (which could be strange).
As argument, they both (Fr and Ger) told him that it's the same for the Vcore line. The Roland Garros (ugly) blue Vcore line is just a last paintjob to sell/empty the stock.
Few details he had was that the new Ezone could arrive a few days or weeks after RG but the new Vcore line should be released in the beginning of 2021. (Looooooooooooong wait for be... Maybe I won't stand and buy another stick...)

That would be highly unlikely given they just released a new version of the EZONE 6 months ago, and introduced the EZONE Tour 3 months ago.

The VCORE I could see, although redesigning it would be kinda dumb since they just redesigned it from the VCORE SV a little over 2 years ago.

Either way...glad I snagged 2 more VCORE 98 +s a few weeks ago. I should be good for another 2-3 years.

Yes : I agree. The only thing I can tell is that my friend has a real connextion (thanks to his work) with Yonex fr (and ger, belgium etc.... So, as strange as it sounds, that is really what they told him. That's why I think the "new" ezone should only be e new paintjob. And Yes for the Vcore should be an entire new line with, let's hope, VDM, lower RA etc....
All in all, prices should get lower in the next few weeks ;)

Maybe this is just a new paint as for previous EZone we had green one and then blue one and Osaka version. For 2020 we had blue and limited one so maybe we will get third one as before.

Bumped into a Yonex rep today while I was shopping around during my lunch break. I asked him about the Vcore update/launch and he said next year around January, but could be pushed back.

Yes : That's what Yonex told my friend too.
Too bad cause I was hoping this release for Xmas ! :(
Same here. Idk if I should try to get the Vcore Tour F 97 which I used before, or get the Vcore 98 285g. The VC98 aren’t at the price that I want to purchase, but I still want to demo a couple of other brands before I make the switch.

I got an email from our Yonex rep saying that they just wrapped up their sales meeting and that he had new racquets to show. I believe that the VCORE Reds were next due for an update.

Please tell me they've dropped the '+' frames. I just picked up 3 more of the current VCORE 98 +s, and don't need an excuse to switch to the new version...

Saw an interview with Jean Luc Aznavorian European Yonex marketing head in a Spanish website saying the new vcore will be announced on AO21.

I also read that interview. He says that the coming Vcore will remain "85 %" the same and the rest will be some new changes.

I use the new Ezone 100 which I like but I am also interested in the coming Vcore. Hopefully they put an extra effort in improving comfort.

Yonex is by the way a really interesting brand. They clearly care about product quality. The interview was a really interesting read and also shows how important is for a racquet brand to have top players onboard. For Yonex, apparently it was Stan Wawrinka´s success that really lifted the brand. Now it seems Yonex is slowly becoming more known among tennis players.

I am quite picky myself when it comes to racquets and it is truly amazing that most racquet brands have such a big variation in racquet specs. But if consumers don't know about it they can't be more demanding. In the long run though, a brand such as Yonex will only gain from having the best quality in the industry. Will be interesting to follow the Yonex story. I am positive this brand will come a long way in the tennis world still.

My guess is they'll add VDM to the frame and call it a day. It already has all the other technologies of the EZONE (Linear Tech, submerged grommets, etc.), and they just changed the pattern from 16x20 to 16x19, and dropped the RA a few points, so messing with too much would be a mistake.

For today's generation, maybe, but I'd say Monica Seles, Martina Navratilova, Marcelo Rios, Sergi Bruguera, and Lleyton Hewitt might have a thing or two to say about that...

Sure. I was more referring to the commercial side (i.e. sale of racquets) of things. At the least that was what the Yonex person was explaining in the interview.

That's the problem with Yonex. They change too much in models for the sake of innovation. Perhaps their sales numbers justify the changes, but I wish they'd leave winning formulas. The SV98 plays drastically different from the VC98, and the VC100s before the SV98 was also drastically different. 15% is a lot of change if non-cosmetic.

As I see it, the SV series was the APD, and when the VC 98s/100s came out, those were the PA 2016. Now for the new 2020/21 VC 98s/100s are going to be like the PA 2018/19 with the VDM (their version of Cortex) in the handle to reduce vibes.

VCores with VDM could be great, since they were quite unstable and not really comfortable (lots of vibrations), espection VCore 100.

That’s going to be the key to that line. Making it more comfortable, but still have that spin and power like the one before. I liked the VDM on the VCPros and the 2020 version of the Ezones were/are still a hit.

Well unfortunately, that isn't great when you want to build model loyalty without some kind of consistency, no less trying to keep different models to do different things. Minor changes, let's say adding VDM, is one thing, but cutting a cross out (16x20 SV98 to 16x19 VC98), and dropping 4RA is too drastic. Even though the specs are similar enough, the racquet swings and plays quite differently. One of the reasons I'm looking @ Angell for my move to 100 in a few years. At least I know if I need a replacement, it'll be there.

From what I've been told, retailers, reviewers'n'co should receive the new Vcore line during december. ;)
Maybe Tennis Warehouse has already some answers to this but wait a few weeks to tell...

I am a big fan of the Vcore 95 - something that I only recently discovered. Agree that the 16x20 pattern in this racket is a great mix of spin and control. I have dabbled with the 18x20's of various models lately trying to get even more precision, but felt that it affected my serve dynamics too much (not enough kick). But this vcore95 and the balance is really great (if you add weight to the hoop to get the right plow for you.)

Does anyone know if this really exists: a Vcore95 in the Galaxy Black (there is a german site that would let you order one, but i am not sure if it is not a mistake).
There was a recent shot of Shapo using a black racket - so maybe it is true?

You mean the 95? Both the SV95 and VC95 are 16x20. Yes, the 2018 model is much softer but it's not *that* drastic. The 2021 model sounds like it will be 16x19.

No. As I said, the 98s were very different. Not just RA, but the linertech elongated the mains and changed stringbed response etc. So even though the dimensions stayed the same, string pattern and stiffness mods are big changes.

I really like the SV95 over the 2018 version. It has a little more pop while maintaining superb control and stability for my game. Really easy to use racquet. And very easy on the arm too. Both are great for one handed backhanders. And I can feel the rip on the ball when I’m going for top spin shots. Great feedback.

These SVs are so super cheap right now, if you can still find them. I don’t see any reason to buy a new racquet when the older models are so super cheap and even better than most new ones.

I mean, there is a reason why most pros hardly ever switch racquets, and they get them for free! Some even play racquets they played with when they were teens. Of course, there is a certain addiction that most of us suffer from, but I won’t be switching anymore, unless my body hurts and tells me to. Same racquet and same string, same tension it is now. Trying to focus on myself more than on equipment.

I agree (which is why I am slowly stocking up on VCORE 98 +s), however, that doesn't mean I can't dabble in the occasional frame just for the fun of it. For example, I just picked up a couple of XTP Butt caps and some TK82S pallets, and plan on extending a few Head frames (an older Radical, and maybe a Gravity MP). Will I switch? Almost certainly not, but that doesn't mean I can't have some fun...

Agreed. If only I could find a new SV95 in 4 3/8!

Normally testers, shops and distribs should receive the new Vcore (don't know if there will be a proto) in december and they should be released in store in January 2021.
