I got a chance to play an outdoor match with these. I absolutely love them!

OK,,, I playtested it for good 2 hours today. complete utter Nightmare. started to pinch and hurt my front little toe in 5 minute time... then when I tracked down wide shots, pinky toe was getting jammed big time.... I thought maybe it needs Break in time.....NO. it got worse as time passed. Then after about an hour, top of my foot felt pressure,,,, and got worse and worse,,,,, tried loosening up the shoelace,,,,and all that,, nothing worked.

1 point about cushioning... it felt thick and good but it was surprisingly hard, not plush. very surprising to me since I thought Air zoom would feel Plush and soft cushioning... but NO. it was more hard firm feel. NOT good, not what I am into.

But even with that cushioning,, I would have kept it but that tight upper feel and my Toes getting Jammed everytime I run make it impossible to wear it for a match....

Abandon ship! It's not worth risking the health of your feet if they don't fit your right. Reselling them or returning them is the best option imo.

What shoes are you testing next?

Have you completed testing on the vapor X's?

First pair I got of these were the GOAT shoe. Amazing fit and cushioning. Incredible to play in.

The next pair I had to send back to Nike because they were so uncomfortable and had no cushioning.

So I have no idea what to think.

Interesting. Same colourway?

No I went from the black/white colorway (their first one I think) to the white with blue stripe one. Felt like totally different shoes though.

Damn, makes me question the fact that I just picked up three pairs. I also had one of the first models - great shoe but had to return them because one of them kept squeezing. Did you notice the difference right away, or was it first noticeable on court?

No way, best shoe for me by far. I have played Ff2 and that was good but nowhere near the cushioning.

Let me stress this, I played for weeks and weeks with the wrong size. I thought that the 10.5 were too long. Sent them back. Finally I decided to just put the long ones on and go for it COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. The longer shoe held me in place so there was no way I Gould get toe jam. The shorter ones ate my pinky toe up. I have medium to narrow feet and they do not move. Felt like they would, but they did not. My fav shoe by a mile. Just wish they were more breathable but I will pay that price for the clearance price of these. Do NOT take Troy’s advice on sizing with this shoe. If you are between sizes, go up.

Tried these shoes after Nike Air Max Wildcard. I assumed fit would be similar as the upper material and design is similar. Fit is completely different. Zoom Zero for me fits long, with much more room between top of the upper and the footbed. However, heel-hold and fit around the heel was excellent with no slippage so I don't think sizing-down would work. Fit is very different to Air Max Wildcard which was uncomfortably tight initially, breaking in to be pretty much perfect but still tight.
The Air Max Wildcard in-sole is the thickest and spongiest I've ever seen. If I could fit that in other shoes they'd be perfect.

Sorry if this has been covered, but does anyone have a sizing/fit comparison between these and V9.5s? I'd like to pick up a pair but I want to make sure I get the sizing correct!

Agree on the insole. The thickest and most unusual stock insole I have ever seen.

So much padding in the forefoot area and the way the lateral side of the insole wraps up to follow the curvature of the toes is very unusual.

The end result works amazingly, though. Truly incredible to see this level of plush multilayered comfort in a takedown shoe.

How is the width on these and how would the fit compare to the awful Vapor X?
Width is narrower on ZZ compared to Vapor X. I teach with the ZZ due to the extreme cushion/comfort. I play in the Vapor X due to the low to the ground feel and better lateral support as I slide a lot.

Thanks for the reply! I have quite wide feet and find the Vapor X to fit a lot smaller than the previous 9.5. May got half size up in these, there seems to be a lot of deals on.

If you’re wide I’d be patient with the ZZ. Im
Wide too and it took a considerable amount t if time to break in. Once they do it’s incredibly comfortable but just beware they’re tight at first! The Vapor X also has a break in period but I can live with it right out of the box.

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately I have been very disspointed with the Vapor X, cushioning is poor compared to the 9.5 and a tight fit, they have remained stiff since the start too. Will look into these and some Asics.

There is a 2E version of the Vapor X?

Yeah I hear ya! The 9.5 were the GOAT shoe for me. The X isn’t an upgrade from the 9.5 but it’s the best playing shoe from Nike in their current line to me. I’m waiting patiently for the New Nike Turbo!

I was a snug 12 in the cage 3. I prefer 11.5 with the ZZ. I went through a pair of 12 ZZ but prefer the 11.5 ZZ.

Comfort and performance wise, do you prefer the ZZ over the Cage? I am on 11.5 in the Cage, plenty of room. Do you think it would be safe in an 11.5 or move down to an 11?

Well a couple things here. First of all the cage 3 is a 6-mo warranty shoe so that must be said. That’s a huge benefit for me, I go through shoes in about a 4-6 weeks regardless, as I try to play 6 out of 7 days.

Comfort is ZZ all the way. It’s a very different shoe than the cage 3 but I’d say much more comfortable. Performance wise will depend. The cage 3 was just a smaller shoe, the ZZ sets you a little higher. I like the feel of the ZZ, it just feels like it sets me to launch. Coming out of corners on a hard court, I’d say I’m a little more confident in cage 3’s, although I’ve never had a problem with the ZZ’s.

After a 2-3 hour session everything below my knees just feel better if I used the ZZ’s that day.

Just bagged a pair of Zoom Zero on sale from Tennis Only. Farewell, Solecourt Boost! I enjoyed the plushness of the SCB, but it's a clunky shoe and I experienced a long break in period which put me off going with them again. Hoping the ZZ gives some of the plushness, without the clunk.

Received my pair; I’ve gotta send these back.

Length is great but holy **** are they tight around the middle of the foot. Totally constricting the top of my foot to the point of pain. My feet are medium width I would say.

I read some reviews where people had similar problems. Some dudes said they cut slits into the tongue to alleviate the issue, but to be honest I’m not at all keen to do that.

I reckon they’d be fine when I’m running around on court, but being in pain when you’re sitting down afterwards isn’t worth it, imo

shame because they seem like a good shoe.

I wore size 13 for a year and had same issue until I went onto court. Now I sized up to a size 14. They are a little long but fit great now. Wish Nike made a size 13.5

Yeah, not keen to go a size up. The length was great. Just a very strange fit. I could tell they’d be dynamite on the court too, but the amount of pain my feet were in yesterday was definitely not normal for any shoe.

I experienced the same problem as you. I returned the shoes, but a close friend kept insisting that I should try them again. So I got another pair and wore them in my house for half an hour for a few days. Needless to say, the shoe fit is amazing and now I am on my third pair. Give it another try and use them for a few minutes gradually. You might get surprised. I didnt size up.

Good to know, thanks. I sent them back already but I’ll keep it in mind.

What are you trying instead of the ZZ? GP Turbos?

Nah, I'm exchanging them for these. GP Turbos aren't available in Aus yet, and I need new shoes. Mine are cooked.

I think these won't be super high performance like the ZZ, but they were my second choice so went with 'em.
