Any "third party" soda and other drinks that are made with natural sweeteners such as stevia leaf exctract?
I am cancelling sugar, but I need some type of soda --- but also no Coca cola zero and this artificial stuff.

Kombucha: it has bubbles, flavour and no sugar after fermenting. You can also make it yourself, but now there are commercial products.

This is very much a coincidence. I am drinking a kombucha right now.

Cold water would often satisfy my craving for juice. Would likely also satisfy cravings for soft drinks. Can even add a splash of vanilla extract, OJ, lemon juice, or some other flavoring. This should add very little, almost no calories or sugar to the water.

Zevia makes some decent sodas with stevia and virtually no calories. No artificial sweeteners at all. I'm not crazy about all their flavors. The Root Beer and Cream Soda are my favorites. What I really like about the cream soda version is that it has a very mild cream soda taste.

Have you tried the Bai drinks? They have carbonated and non carbonated versions. I favor the latter. Particularly the coconut flavored versions. They contain erythritol and just a little bit of stevia. Only 5 calories per serving. Note that erythritol is neither a sugar or an artificial sweetener. It is a sugar alcohol like Xylitol and sorbitol. It very low in calories and has little or no effect on blood sugar levels. It is also supposed to be very good for your teeth, just like Xylitol (which is sometimes used in toothpaste and mouthwashes). Erythritol, unlike Xylitol and other sugar alcohols, is very easy on your stomach and gastrointestinal system. Even when ingested in large quantities

I cut soda off my diet 19 years ago, best decision ever.

You just need to get rid of the need for sugar, eventually just water will be enough.

I was heretofore unaware of this product.

I found a bit of info about it, and a big question has emerged for me.

This Stevia sweetener. Apparently it is derived from plants abundant in Brazil and Paraguay.

Do you know whether its viability (and availability) is threatened by the catastrophic fires down there?
Good Q. Don't know the answer to this. But I just read that China has become the largest exporter of stevia in recent years. Don't know if the US is getting any of its stevia from China tho... it was discovered more than 3 years, China was using prison labor in the making of stevia products. And then we also have that stoopid trade war.

Except for the occasional can of Zevia, I don't use a lot of stevia myself. I tend to use sugar alcohol, particularly erythritol, or a combination of erythritol and stevia. For some uses, stevia has a noticeable bitter sweetness

I'm a Zevia fan and drink about five to ten a year. It takes a bit of work to find it though.

I remember my ex suggested we give up soda. I was like dammit what the hell am I gonna drink now????? So she would buy a gallon of iced tea. I'm like uhhh there is almost as much sugar in this as soda. So after a year we gave up. And then eventually we broke up, it was a weird phase with questionable decision making. Now I'm back to addicted to soda :(

The refill container are expensive, it an exchange around $18. I stop using mine SodaStream after a while.
It will become cheaper I think than buying fizzy drinks!
Im a health nut... And buying drinks that are in non stabilized plastic is no good. I like to buy glass bottles, like Pellegrino if I have to buy something.

Do you have this? If it holds up, I'd get it in a heartbeat because fizzy water is the only thing I drink besides plain old ice water.
I have one because my wife likes fizzy water and was importing so many crates of glass bottles of Perrier that my back was getting sore carrying them from the garage. Works great.

You will miss it like crazy for a few weeks, then you'll simply get accustomed and stop missing it, that's it, is a small price to pay for a healthy habit.

I used to drink sodas with every meal outside breakfast, that's not the best way to do it, when I stopped drinking sodas I still drank water with my meals, 10 years ago I stopped that too, I drink my water before the meal, at least 10 minutes before and I don't feel the need to drink anything with my meal, it's a hard to break habit but since I drink water constantly I almost never am thirsty, just after a training session or a match but is a nice healthy feeling to keep your body hydrated, you will not have the compulsion to drink sodas anymore.

My advice to you is that you take the bull by the horns, don't look for some replacement, just cut those sodas from your life cold turkey, you will have a rough couple of weeks ahead but you will get rid of a nasty habit and before you notice it you won't have that need for sugar anymore.

I dropped soda and started drinking coffee about 7 years ago. Even learned to drink it black. I still occasionally drink a soda, but usually only when I eat out.

You're on the East Coast, correct? Out here in the West, I usually pick it up at Sprouts or Whole Foods Market. Quite often, I'll find it on sale for $3.99 a six pack. Also available at Target and Walmart.

It's at Whole Foods here but we don't go there often. Our regular grocer carries it but it's $5.29 for a six-pack. We don't go to WalMart or Target very often.

Might be best if you could find a variety pack. I really only like 2 of the 5 flavors. How about you, mov dqa?

Another option is Blue Sky Soda. They have 2 product lines: Cane Sugar is one and Zero Sugar is the other. The Zero Sugar flavors use both erythritol and stevia. Have not yet had a chance to try them so I can't tell you if I like the taste of these

Guess I was mistaken about how many soda flavors Zevia makes. Thought it was 5 or 6 flavors. Looks like there are actually 14 different soda flavors. Here is a page that rates most of those flavors. Also good info on erythritol and caffeine levels (3 flavors with caffeine).

Besides sodas, Zevia alao makes zero-calorie mixers, energy drinks and organic teas. The energy drinks and teas that I tried were pretty decent

Just realized that this taste review discusses erythritol. However, it appears that Zevia sodas do not currently contain sugar alcohol. At least the ones that I drink, do not. But I do recall just a few years back when they did contain erythritol. The review is from 7+ years ago. Disclaimer: not sure if there is much taste difference between the old erythritol formulation and the current formulation for the Zevia sodas

If you cut out sugar-laden sodas and snacks, you quickly lose the taste for them. You become much more sensitive to the "sweetness" of other foods. If I take a sip of a soda, it is overwhelmingly sweet, like an overly aggressive drunk woman sucking my face with too-wet kisses.
