It looks as though there is very little chance of the French Open or Wimbledon taking place at current time. This virus is due to peak in Europe around April/May.
The US Open might have an outside chance of going ahead as not till end of August. It may be possible to rearrange the French open for say September/October but seems unlikely. It may be that the Coronavirus helps Roger to hold the most Grand slams if this entire season is wiped out as both Novak and Rafa were in great form and highly likely to at least get another GS each this season.
However if that is the case their will always be a question mark in the history books regarding the matter.

ATP Announces Six-Week Tour Suspension Due to Coronavirus PandemicBy Chris Oddo | @TheFanChild | Thursday March 12, 2020
The ATP Tour has announced a six-week suspension, effective immediately, due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The affected ATP Tour events are the Miami Open, the U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championships in Houston, the Grand Prix Hassan II in Marrakech, the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, and the Hungarian Open in Budapest.
If things go as planned, the tour would resume with events on April 27, in Estoril and Munich.
In a statement, ATP Chairman Andrea Gaudenzi said:
“This is not a decision that was taken lightly and it represents a great loss for our tournaments, players, and fans worldwide. However we believe this is the responsible action needed at this time in order to protect the health and safety of our players, staff, the wider tennis community and general public health in the face of this global pandemic. The worldwide nature of our sport and the international travel required presents significant risks and challenges in today’s circumstances, as do the increasingly restrictive directives issued by local authorities. We continue to monitor this on a daily basis and we look forward to the Tour resuming when the situation improves. In the meantime, our thoughts and well-wishes are with all those that have been affected by the virus.”
ATP Challenger events will also be cancelled, including next week’s Arizona Tennis Classic.
The Coronavirus has forced sporting cancellations worldwide. On Tuesday the NBA suspended its season indefinitely and the NCAA announced that it would be holding its March Madness without fans.
The WTA is expected to make a similar announcement but has not done so yet.

They can surely play in Empty stadium and provide TV coverage and that should be fine. but problem seem to be money. This complete economic collapse seem to be making ton of banks and sponsors super tight with their money. so that seem to be the real reason why they can't afford to put these tournaments ON with just TV coverage.

Thats Nonsens. It will be increasing more and more the rest of the year because the governements want it doing slowly as possible. Now they calculate with 2 years to have a normal situation from medical side again.

I've seen enough with what's happened in Europe to accept the writing on the wall. 1% of Italy's population could die and its economy is crippled. The EU economy is basically screwed for a couple years.
I know tennis is a high-end sport but it's not like high-end spectators are more likely to risk their health. It's quite the opposite and sponsorships would certainly be affected with economic collapse.
I think best case scenario is the season doing the 3 Slams back to back to back beginning in late August with the USO, moderate scenario the season gets cancelled because late events like Paris and WTF won't make sense going ahead and we start back up with the AO. Worst case scenario is we don't have tennis until Summer of 21. Really worst case is the virus mutates (very possible with number of infections) and there's no tennis for 2-3 years.

There will be no tennis this year. The US Open won't be played. The virus is running roughshod throughout New York. Thousands of people have been infected and it's growing rapidly. The sport is done for 2020 and possibly 2021.

Too soon to know for certain, but that's a definite possibility. Fed turns 40 in August, 2021 and if there is a second wave to the virus and no vaccine is found, his career may have ended. He's taking this very seriously and they filmed him giving an announcement to Switzerland to stay inside. He's self isolating with Mirka and the kids (and he says 'no one else') and says he's avoided any contact with any outsider, even his parents, for 3 weeks.

Really depends on his regiment. Getting so much time off might mean turning 40 isn't that big a deal for him. But his timely hiatus before everything hit the fan makes me assume he won't go out unless he's given 100% assurance which seems only plausible for 2021. Unless this really wrecked the tour until 2022 I think he will be back for at least a few tournaments like Wimbledon, Basel and Tokyo (given his sponsorship).

I think there are some chances for ATP to suspend next winter season too.
Spanish flu peak contagions went 3,4 waves: initial Spring break out, then next 2-3 winters, more severe than initial break out.
Hopefully modern science and lockdown strategies shorten that up.

Ken Rosewall played professional tennis up until the age of 48-49.
Both Laver and Gonzales played well into their 40s.
Gonzales reportedly played some of his best tennis matches at 41 (beating Laver fresh off pro grand slam at 1969).
Federer is only 38.

Side note to stimulus checks or ACH in bound or paid- Covid 19--- Here in Cal the Insurance Commissioner has order all car insurers in Cal to refund or credit the months of march and april as rates are set by payments for accidents--which is down plenty and the month of may if the stay at home order extends to may. He gave all insurers 60 days to comply.

Rosewall, Laver and Gonzales played in a dramatically less physical era. It's apples and oranges. And Rod Laver retired in early 1979 when he was 40, not "well into his 40's." Rosewall was destroyed in most of his matches against stiff competition once he reached 40. He won 6 games in the 1974 Wimbledon final.
Rosewall's era of tennis has nothing remotely to do with the physical demands of the game now, as this will eloquently prove:

Federer is a different animal plus the equipment is quite different as well as the surfaces at most venues- improved for player comfort ect.
He'll keep playing as long as he is competitive.

Yes, I agree that today's tennis much more physical, even compared to 80s-90s.
But how come players play physical longer these days ?
average age of top players approaching that of 60s.
although always physical tennis on clay in all eras,
old players often could stick around on clay.
It's only 80s - early 2000s, when tennis players' career span was rather short...
