Novak djokovic secures most weeks as number 1

Whoa, I like/respect Novak, but he's not yet a lock for AO21. The favorite? Yes. But even were he to cruise versus "Karate Kid", either Tsit or Med will be a tough challenger. Just enjoy the ride. If it happens (I'm not predicting anything) a 7th YE #1 would be a very big achievement.
100% record in AO SF/F makes him hot favourite for me.

Djoker needs to win AO and WB this year .

Next year , it will be difficult for Nadal and Djokovic to win slams because Stefanos-Daniel will start reaching every semis from now on .
Rafa /djoker will need to beat both youngsters back to back from next year onwards which will be very difficult .

I think 350 to 360 is a serious possibility. Don't forget: he's likely to play well and consistently enough this year to own the other big rankings record--most year-end number 1 finishes.

I'll never be a fan of his, but credit where credit is due. He really deserves it, his longevity is just outstanding. Better than both Fed and Rafa in that respect IMO, and I like both much better as players than Novak.

Some Federer fans said in order to consider it a significant achievement, Djokovic will not just need to break it by a significant margin.
Do you ever stop just inventing stuff about Fed fans? Apparently you’re incapable of stopping the endless mendacity. Nobody said that here, we’ve all said it’s a great achievement and all credit to Novak for passing him.

# of weeks is less important than the number of year end #1's. (for which he already tied, no?), when it comes to comparing it to other eras.

378 weeks at number 1
7 year end number 1
7 WTF
25 slams
40 masters
110 titles
1 CYGS, 1 NCYGS and 1 OSG
2 DCGS, 2 Golden Masters

That’s the absolute maximum I want him to achieve.

7the year end #1 is doable this year, no ?
this stat is more meaningful when comparing it to other eras.

Past eras:
- Sampras at 6 straight year end number 1, only one with official ranking system.
- Laver with 7 YE#1 (1 co-#1, non official ranking)
- Pancho Gonzalez with 8 YE#1 (1 or 2 co-#1's, non official ranking, mixed up eras between pro and amateur)

I fully expected 24+ slams for both Nole and Rafa but COVID-19 situation probably costed them 1 or 2 slams already.

I think this is close to being accurate, except the CYGS will require bit of luck at RG.

I’d say 400 weeks and 8 YE#1 is a conservative estimate.

Gonna be painful few years for you bud

I think Djokovic will win 2 more slams this year to keep the number 1 ranking and his 7th YE#1

Same again 2+ slams next season to achieve all those records I mentioned   o_O

You think he shall win 3 slams this year.

LOL, when has he ever done that except at his absolute peak in 2011 and 2015 ?

:-D

Machan ... thanks to @Tennis_Freak99 who pointed out one such user who said that. I read a few others also saying it but admittedly only a few of the fans. Sorry if my post came across as a general statement attributed to the Federer fans. I apologize.

Nope, there were multiple posters, Fed fans, posting exactly that...

He'll achieve none of that.

1983 ... just who is going to stop him? The next big hope couldn't win a single set in the final :D

400 weeks at No 1 is a distinct possibility for Djokovic. So are many more slams. I donno about 8 but a 7th YE# 1 is almost a certainty at this point.

And all those asterisk threads didn't happen? Were those Fed fans among those 80+ posters that landed on your ignore list so you just didn't notice? Stop cheating readers and get back to crying with that depressed genius of yours that Timmy sent packing.

Agreed. Some of the regular Federer fans even said Djokovic only got the weeks at No .1 record because of the rankings freeze

Plus stand alone record for AO titles at 10 or 11 or 12. And hopefully a record for USO titles, where he has seriously underperformed.

I hope Novak sets the 7th YE#1 as his goal.

CYGS is really hard at his age. 2020 could have been a missed opportunity.
