Post Count/NTRP Boosting

Ever since I started posting more here at TTW, my ace counts have been rising. It's time to post, post, post. :)

I think an easy way to calculate your ntrp is to divide your post count by your swingweight and then subtract .5 if you live in Florida, SoCal or don't have a pair of Vapors.
This is way less confusing than self-rating and should lead to some spirited matches!

I think I need to start another account and get it to goat status. I can then use this account up until match time, then switch to the higher PCE account at the last minute.

Who will be the 1st to sandbag their PCE?

Its a great idea, but shortcuts get you nowhere. Doing this may improve spin and depth of your slices but in reality your'e fooling yourself if you don't believe it.

Its this type of thinking that is really dragging the game down.

Forget about Andre's wig, we need to go after those that are getting unfair post count advantages and sending their ill gotten bagels directly at the unprepared 3.0 mixed specialists.

Recall the days where TW would give you post counts from responses to threads you started. Unfair advantage? Like spaghetti strings?

I think your "mystique" grows under the following:

- The number of posts you have.
- The number of "****s" you have.
- The number of threads created where your screen name is included.
- The number of times you post of a picture of your equipment.

Do you take your post count here into consideration when self rating?

I mean, if you're a legend here, does that help boost your confidence on the court?

It must a little, right?

I guess thats part of the Jo11y Mystique(tm) in a way.

A Legend status poster could probably safely bump their NTRP by .5 for possessing their high post count.

Just a thought...

Is this YOUR plan for tennis improvement: start a new thread and then respond to it 20 times?

My PC is sporadic... intermittent... shameful.

My game is sporadic... intermittent... shameful.

I'm glad this thread has told me which to work on first.

I've been dealing with a shoulder issue that very well could be due to my low PCE, Doc suggested rehab but then I informed him of a much more natural method by way of TTW. He seemed a bit dubious but the proof is always in the Post count.

Indeed.

Ever since I hit 1100 my game has been revolutionized.

Won 6-4 6-4 last night in tight match. Posted 10 gems after the first set, it helped secure the win.

I've got to put my nose to the grindstone and post inbetween turkey legs and stuffing and after each bite of pie...this should give me a first wind for tomorrow's match.

Hopefully seeing the Jolly Aura in person has inspired you to keep posting.

I only actually go on court twice a year, the rest of the time is spent posting and taking pictures of my tennis stuff that I lend out to other people to use so that it looks like I actually play.

Yo Jollz.

Just got home in time for Fed match.

Just played 2 sets at *** with the 85 strung with global smut. Was really enjoying the old school punch of the 85. The scalpel VS the sledgehammer.

Now I'm gulping this amazing turkey chili from Soup Man and mentally preparing for a massive TT post rampage.

Its nice to come home after playing real tennis as opposed to arguing about tennis on the Internets and prepare for an afternoon of post count boosting. I figure between the Rafa Hate Threads(tm) and the Del Fedro match I may hit 1300 by Sunday morning.

I also just realized the Oreos are wearing through, I can feel that pre break bubble near the side edge. I need to decide what shoe direction to move next. I love the VaporVI but the break in period was just so damn long. I may try the blue green Ballistics.

I'm looking to film a match in HD soon at NTC from up above. I think its time to expose my flawed ****eous game on film soon. I wanna get A. Rosz'd bad. I want poeple to say I suck and I should stop playing and focus on rugby or third world adoption. Let me know if you or anyone else would like to partake in a full fledged taped Exo in Flushing Meadows and edited professionally. This could be the start of the dream feature film starring idiot tennis players that flat out suck but have passion for the game and de-polarized box beamed Wilson racquets.

That said, I'm looking to trade my Connors card for a Borg if anyone has one.

hey joel, thanks for posting that picture of connors, I needed a visual aid to bring in to my hairdresser to point him in the right direction.

spilled Tapatio on my blackberry trackball: my changeover posting is now a non-factor and I am fading at the business end of sets.

f--k me, I have 4 hundred posts and change and nike still hasn't made a fit dri enough to hold my deluge.

carry on...

I've not been posting much lately in an effort to hope my game improves. I played the worst I have played in years yesterday, so I thought I better start posting again. So.....here is a post. :)

My parents used to say my bowl cut was actually a Beatles cut. It didn't matter to me cuz I always got chix from the 3rd grade thru 10th. 11th grade was when I discovered Led Zeppelin and chix didn't matter anymore. Nor did the bowl cut. That said, I'm looking to get in 100 posts this weekend as punishment for doulble faulting my balls off all morning.

Is that the secret! Well d*mn...I'm gonna start posting my butt off, and come April when our season starts up, I might have to go full-on troll mode!

It appears the USTA and TW colluded in dropping post counts based on NTRP ratings.

All 4.0 with 3000+ posts were immediately dropped to 1000 posts.

All 3.5 with 10,000+ posts were dropped to 500 posts.

This is the fairest way to keep ringers off the boards and even out the 4.0 / 5000 posters.

Its good for TT and good for the game.

That said, I finished Andre's book last night and my puppy was happy I finally put it down and started chewing at the pages .... :(

you may need to post one quality post in each thread to get back up there...it will take some hard work but it's amuch better way to improve your game than running killers on the court.

It doesn't work. I'm hardly a legend after being crushed by the 5.0 French Federation empire last night.

Post count < Tennis skills

This thread is so slathered with win that i had to resurrect it.

I've been taking lessons lately, but I figure that in the time I use for one lesson, I could produce 40 inane, useless posts. At that rate, 4.0 next spring, and 5.0 before I turn 5-0.

Does your NTRP go down if you are booted from the forum?

I'd have to imagine a perma-ban would be similar to a steroid violation in the ITF. Now if you get a temp ban and are allowed to come back, a la Gasquet, I think you are ok. But the brief suspension can cost you serious poasting time.

I lost 2 matches in a row, so I quit tennis and dedicated myself to posting on these forums. I picked the racquet up a month ago and now I am on a 20 match winning streak. Thank you TT, you really improved my game!
