Prestige Mid to become the racquet of the 2020s.

I recently just bought a pair of tgk238.2. For replacing grommets can I use any Prestige 98 with a 16x19 pattern? Are certain ones better then others? After two hitting sessions I might be making the switch. These are the easiest swinging racket I have ever played with, I assume it is bc very low twistweight.

Ended up putting Alu Power back in this frame and it is just really easy to hit with. Made it easier on the arm and it produces heavy spin and power with not much effort. 49lbs with Alu Power is hard to beat in this frame.

I am done with mids (famous last words), but I just got a Prestige 360+ Pro that I will try for the first time tomorrow. Sweet looking racquet, that’s for sure. Also a pleasure to string, like all 16x19s with 8 mains through the throat.

All true,

... yet it is none of those for me—it's eyesight.

I've learned when it's dusk or under the lights, I have to put away the 95s/HEAD 630s and get more hoop. I can't center the ball finely enough in poor/artificial light (at least not muni court lights).

I suspect I'm not alone in this. I'm past due for new glasses, but what I have is still rocking (=>optics nerd) so I don't know how much there is left to wring out of the old peepers.

Considered getting the mid now that tennis warehouse has them marked down to 199, I just couldn’t rationalize moving down to a 93 inch… however I did pick up the Pro. Very happy with it!

Funny because I bought a Prestige Mid not long ago just to see how it feels. Very polished stick, but I prefer the PS90.

Just got a Graphene Touch Mid and loving it. Probably going to buy some new old stock 360+ Mids.
How would you guys describe the string pattern in the Mid? Is it tighter for 16x19 or wider? How does it compare to the Pro?
Does anybody have a size comparison of the Mid and Pro head sizes?

re string pattern
I think it's a bit closer than some 16m racquets but not too dense. 8 main strings in the middle which is what I like most of the time

I think k the mid will still be around, just only in Euro, which still may mean it fades out.

it’s a tight 16/19, the great spin from the racquet comes from how fast it swings. The pro has a much more open pattern…and feels more like if the mid and a pure strike had a baby. Head size between the two is hard to notice, but the thicker beam on the pro is noticeable.

Still playing with this Graphene Touch Mid.
I asked the seller what it was strung with and what tension, he said RPM Blast 17g 55lbs.
So far it plays great, no difficulty with power or depth. I'm not noticing any lack of stability compared to my VCore HD. Swings more easily than the HD, and there was no difficulty changing. I haven't struggled to adapt to this Mid at all, it just plays naturally.
Just getting some 360+ Mids matched.

The era of the Prostaff has ended, no longer will the mighty Prestige play second fiddle.

2020 is the year the redheaded step child steps forth from the shadow realm of also-rans and into the light.

if it is, its the mp version, but that paintjob says nothing in the world of pro stock Heads.

When I initially saw the thread, I thought you were referring to the G360+ Prestige Mid model specifically as the racquet of the 2020s.

Who knows? That could end up being true, in the end.

I tried Touch Prestige Pro and didn't think it was special at all. Too muted, not very quick for a small head size and lacking power.
I still got the itch to try the 360+ mid. How would you compare them ?

Just played 3 hours doubles with the Graphene Touch Mid.
I absolutely love it. Great directional control, can hit spin and also hit it flatter.
Just need to try gut/poly in it now.

So I just bought 5 of the 360+ Mids.
I paid for matching on 10 racquets, with plastic still on handles, face-cards removed.
Quality control really isn't that bad. If you could only measure static weight and balance, you'd be able to make reasonable guesses as to which racquets had the highest or lowest swing-weights.
I went for 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7.
Anyone hop on the sale for the mid?
I just bought 5. Got them matched. All with a balance of 310, heaviest 322g lightest 318g. Lowest swing weight 299 highest 302.

There's always a reason to buy a new racquet.;) I'd also like to get a Pro but that will have to wait, those are easier to obtain than Mids in the coming months.
Pro is good, harsh long term for me outside the sweet spot. I may get a mid just because it’s the end of an era. Jolly named this frame the ‘racquet of the 2020s’ and head said ‘well boys, we did it. no reason to make another mid.’

The mid has arrived ! First thought, hoop is bigger than my PC600.
Question: I string my I.prestige MP @20kg, what tension would you recommend for this ?
I plan to use the crisp tourna silver 7 tour.
Thanks !

It responds better to looser tensions, I strung my GPMP at 50lb and am down to 44lb with the mid. Might try 40 next. I'd start with 18kg.

Thanks !! I’ve just finished stringing it and went the conservative way, 21kg. I like looser tensions in 18x20 frames, but this one I need to try it next.
I have a competitive match tomorrow ( I’ll bring it as a backup), I’m so impatient to hit with it. Think it would be a great fit to my game. Paint job is gorgeous too !!
