Loving my modded 97P, beautiful feel and control all over the court. Slice forehand winners are brutally effective.
@langdon0555 weight helps to bring out the sweet spot and response with some additional feel. I would think that your goal weight would really help the frame and improve the response, especially at the net and on serve.
I would guess mine is now around 350 grams mid 340s swing weight with the new string and has great plow. Need to get it measured somewhere.
The big change from last time is my strings. Have put in BBO at 48/46 and just loving it. More notched after an hour than I would have thought, hope it doesn't head downhill quickly. I'm lucky my hitting partner doesn't crush the ball or it might have been an issue since I'm low on string stock.
Power level is better than last time I used it and it has this incredible feel that I have come to expect of luxilon strings. It might be among the best of any string I have used. The control and spin is just a perfect mix. Overall I feel like I have complete control over the ball in every situation. Doesn't have any weaknesses since my frame has some nice weight to it now to absorb the poly shock. It doesn't rip the felt off the ball like a brand new set of alu but it also is more consistent as Alu does lose some of that bite.
Alu has a magical mix of spin and control but also with power so it is slightly different to BBO. In the 97P I am unsure what the best mix is. BBO has slightly more control and can hit a loopy ball and flat without an issue.
I might hit up the OG Jolly2 rig or whatever it's nicknamed as. Need to grab some Alu Power and give it a whirl, imagine that it will be very good. The Alu does feel a little better and softer so taking some of that to soften up the bed should be nice.
