I'm a recreational player, but I bought a stringing machine because I'm a chronic string breaker due to the heavy top spin of my semi-western forehand. I break full poly setups somewhat frequently, depending on how often I'm playing.
So my question is this: Is a fully poly setup more durable than a hybrid using synthetic gut in the crosses? I wouldn't see why it would be since I'm always breaking my mains. I figure it would be the same.
And by similar reasoning, would a hybrid with synthetic gut in the mains be less durable than a full synthetic gut, since the synthetic gut mains would be quickly notched by the poly strings?
Thanks!
