Recommendations for Pure Drive hybrid string setup for a teen

I have a set of Luxilon Alu Power 125 (poly) and Babolat Spiraltek 16 (multi) that I would like to string in a hybrid setup on a 2015 Pure Drive racket that will be used by a teenager girl. Considering the power capability of the racket and the stiffness, I was hoping for some ideas on stringing and tensions to avoid arm issues. Also if anyone has tried these strings in this racket. I was thinking to try the Spiraltek multis in the mains, with the Alu Power in the crosses. What is a good tension and is this a good idea on this racket? Pros/cons? Would appreciate some expertise before I waste strings and time. Thanks

if you hybrid it, then spiraltek mains and alu power crosses. alu power (stiff string) + pure drive (stiff frame) isn´t a good combination for a teenager (not even for most adults ).
if you or she wants to use poly, a softer (and cheaper) one would be more appropriate. its hard to give tension advice; what string setup does she normally use ?

Yeah use the multi in the mains to soften it up a bit. Without more info a perfect tension recommendation is hard, but for a 100 sq inch head that's pretty stiff, I'd go 55/52...

Thanks Hansen and StringGuruMRT. The last string she played with was an unknown poly on her Yonex SV 98. She just got the Pure Drive(without strings) and is not sure what strings and tension to go with. I have leftover sets of the Spiraltek and Alu Power which I hybrid on my own Aero Pure Drive. I haven't had any issues myself, but I heard the Pure drive is stiffer and dont want her having arm issues. I heard some were going in the upper 40 on poly string tension in stiff rackets, but I am afraid if I hybrid it, say at 48/50 with the multis, it will be too much pop from the multis strung so low. I am also hesitant to use only the spiraltek because it is a powerful string and the PD is already powerful enough.
I may try the 55/52 setup and see how it works.

In my experience using multi in a hybrid negates all effects of having poly. I would recommend using Prince SG Original in the mains and whatever poly you have in the crosses.
Poly in the crosses work almost the same. SG in the mains makes a big difference. I use PSG + Cyclone 54/50. ( tried many other combinations)

Are you using a pure drive as well?
I may try the Prince Synthetic Gut. 16 or 17g?

Yes I am using PD. Switched to this frames a couple of months ago. Prince SG 17 and Cyclone 19. 54/50 or 52/50. I recommend prestretching SG.

Super arm friendly set-up. The Cyclone might be softer than the SG17... :). Loved the Cyclone 19 in a full bed also.

I personally enjoy 17 ga. syn. gut in my own racquets, but I'd expect this string to get gobbled up in a hurry by any high school kid playing with a Pure Drive. Definitely try the 16 ga. syn. gut.

I've been coaching high school teams and stringing for several years. The setup that has worked really well with a lot of kids who want a poly hybrid is Isospeed Baseline 1.20mm mains paired with Gosen OG Sheep Micro 16 crosses. This seems to run only slightly more firm than a full bed of syn. gut, so it's not necessary to drop much tension compared with a full bed of syn. gut (depending on the strength of the player).

Some boys who are really strong - college players in the making - typically need the next heavier gauge of this poly; 1.25mm. They'll use this in a hybrid with the same Gosen crosses or occasionally use a full bed of the poly. More than one or two young sluggers I know have switched into this poly from RPM Blast because the Isospeed was more comfortable for them and also a lot more affordable.

I do the same...nice cost effective.. arm effective set-up. Really easy on arm and wallet..

I would give Technifiber X1 Biphase a try. Good control and spin but easy on the arm.

You might try a full bed of Velocity a try. Lower powered, muted, comfortable.

If you want a little more access to spin, Try Velocity (main) and Cream (cross). This combo adds a bit of feel, power and spin to Velocity.

Lastly, you could look into Natural Gut crossed with a smooth poly (VS/Proline2).

A little cheaper and possibly softer gut/poly setup is Klip Legend/Cream.

For the gut/poly and others, getting the tension right is going to be important to get everything to gel.

Since the Spiraltek is described as a softer feeling synthetic gut, I went ahead and strung it at 58# without hybriding, for some more control, since the PD racket is high power already. Will post how it works out.

Another vote for Velocity as your nylon. Also I recommend start in the low 50's say 51/53lbs and each string job, decrease tension a bit until you reach a floor regarding her ability to control it.

As a teenager, I played with a Bab Drive Z Lite with some trash Gosen poly at 50lbs, then APDGT with full poly (it varied but mostly Snakebite, very stiff) anywhere between 51-58lbs, then BLX Blade 98 with Snakebite at around 53lbs, then 2013 APD at around 53lbs. Never any arm or wrist issues.
