I do get pessimistic because I'm always looking ahead to the BIG encounters and I'm looking for Murray to be upping his level and starting to play his best and I saw nothing of that in that dreadful 2nd set. His serve, which had been so sharp in Madrid, has begun to get erratic again and there was a disturbing loss of penetration in his groundstrokes.
It doesn't exactly fill me with confidence for the encounters ahead and he's next facing a guy he's never beaten on clay in 4 previous attempts and who has just destroyed Cilic, who had been playing really well, in 3 straight sets!
He's got to start getting it together. Now is not the time to start drifting off form again, is it?
