Chardy looking to strike early in the fourth...but what a save from Married Murray!

Married Murray simply doesn't lose.

Yes. This is absolutely true.

Murray did not just give a sacred promise to dear Kimberly in church that day; he also gave a promise to God. To save clay-tennis (and tennis in general) from the shackles of evil.

Yep, pretty much. And nice to see you back Fedex! :)

Ah that's nice of you. Haven't had time to be here much at all. I just pop up very occassionaly for a bit of troll bashing.
Try and put them in their place but that's near impossible because they tend to be damaged goods.

Mainad is way too pessimistic about Clayray.

Andy has this in the bag, unless god mode best-match-of-his-life Chardy appears.

I do get pessimistic because I'm always looking ahead to the BIG encounters and I'm looking for Murray to be upping his level and starting to play his best and I saw nothing of that in that dreadful 2nd set. His serve, which had been so sharp in Madrid, has begun to get erratic again and there was a disturbing loss of penetration in his groundstrokes.

It doesn't exactly fill me with confidence for the encounters ahead and he's next facing a guy he's never beaten on clay in 4 previous attempts and who has just destroyed Cilic, who had been playing really well, in 3 straight sets!

He's got to start getting it together. Now is not the time to start drifting off form again, is it?

Well Tsonga just crushed Berdych, Stan will crush Fed so things are looking good for my guys.

Murray has reached his 17th straight slam quarter final!
And kept that run going through back injury.

Like him or hate him you have to give credit where due.

Ferrer looking formidable. Murray 0-4 vs Ferrer on clay.

Has to reach yet another clay milestone to progress.

Who knows. Murray is unbeaten on clay this year with 14 straight wins and if he can beat Nadal in a Masters clay final (who he'd also never beaten before on clay) then I guess he can do anything.

Ferrer is a scary prospect though.

If Murray can just play at his Madrid level again, I have no doubts he will win!
