Possible, but Mallisse is going to have to play alot better then he does 95% of the time. Roddick in straights.

roddick just reached the final of his last appearance and is starting to change his game around hopefully for the better and did win r1 losing only 4 games... and roddick has a 7-0 record against him... theres actually not much that suggest roddick would lose this particular match.

Roddick in straight sets. New commitment to the game. Lost weight at request of coach. Believe Roddick makes the 2nd week-as opposed to 2008 when I do not believe he made it past the 2nd round of any major.

Roddick in 3 or 4. Professor X has the game, and the talent, easily, but not the head. Shame he never developed the mental game to go along with the rest of his game. He would have been something.

Roddick will manage to win this one but Malisse is one of those dangerous floaters that seeded players hate to see at early rounds.

If he (Malisse) is able to keep his head cool, i think it will be 4or 5 sets. If he had a good mentality a few years ago i think he was able to be a good top ten player.

Offcourse he's a from Belgium so i vote for him;)

COME ON MALISSE

Malisse has a chance of making this match competitive, but Roddick will come through in straights. Hopefully it might be entertaining nevertheless.

Why does X-man break down mentally when he is about to win a major or gets in deep into rounds.

Malisse has never won a major or even been in a slam final, I remember he was in the semifinals at Wimbledon, but had breathing problems against Nalbandian. Injuries and inconsistency has been his downfall.

Ah Malisse. He was the reason we headed to court 3 one year at wimbledon. that and being able to look over on to court 2. predictably he got injured and had to retire :( i think it was him...

Roddick will crush Malisse straight into oblivion, which basically means Roddick will prevail in straights.

Yeah, Safin and Malisse in 4 :???: Nice predictions you got going there, especially considering their H2H's.

No disrespect to Roddick, but I watched Malisse and Roddick play their first round matches and I think Malisse is stronger from the ground than Roddick is... so I think he's going to get the upset.

Ofcourse I could be wrong... but that's why they call it a "prediction" !

Mallise's game impresses me everytime I see it with how effortless every stroke looks and then the forehand itselt, it just looks like such a huge weapon when he hits it

You are right there i think. Just look at both guys technique, i just love Malisse groundstrokes way much more!!!Malisse is better in the rally's but for the moment Roddick is serving (too) well.
