Sleeveless muscle shirts just look …unprofessional to me in a tennis tournament.

Watching Zverev right now in the semifinals of the French Open. Skinny guy wearing what we used to call a muscle shirt just looks so white trailer trash to me. For the weekend warrior behind the junior high hitting and shanking balls, not for a major professional tennis tournament. A wife beater we call them, because every guy getting arrested on tv for beating his wife….is in cuffs wearing one.

We don’t even allow them at my club, even on the outside courts. A guy asked our pro why he couldn’t wear one, the pro said, “trust me, no one wants to see you in a sleeveless shirt”.

Your club sound like a dictatorship, wearing sleeveless and having problem with people who wear sleeveless goes to show how trashy your club is.
Remind me of RG administration which made rule what Serena should wear .
Trashy club, Trashy slam , trashy follower of dictatorship

I’m thankful that Zverev at least doesn’t have this problem when he wears a sleeveless:

I agree Rafa would look better, but still would seem weird in a professional tournament. And all of Zverevs gold chains? Mr T.

Maybe some 70 year old woman doesn’t want to see some 20 year old’s armpit hair? Also BO comes through a lot more.

I think he looks better in the sleeveless than with the sleeves.
How about no shirt. Win for everyone.

It certainly does nothing for the Zverev PR campaign, but maybe he doesn't know anything about that particular Americanism?

That said, once Rafa wore them, there was no going back. I couldn't imagine seeing them on the golf course or some place, but in any sport where there is running involved, they are probably cooler.

Far from a trashy club. Doubt you could afford it. It’s to keep the trash out and to have some dignity and class. But you can wear your chains and wife beater.

Good enough for basketball, good enough for athletics, good enough for gymnastics, good enough for tennis.
What do you mean by unprofessional anyway? Do you think that a vest restricts your ability to play tennis to a professional standard?

Yes, because a completely unknown club has more "dignity and class" than all the four Grand Slams. All the Grand Slams allow players to play sleeveless. Even at Wimbledon, the Holy Grail of class and elegance, players are allowed to wear a sleeveless T-shirt.

Tennis players are performing a physical activity. They are not university professors, they are not lawyers, they are not politicians. Tennis is not the ultimate paradigm of a formal profession. It is a physical sport where players need to be comfortable and wear sport clothes. It would be unclassy to observe a university professor or a lawyer being sleeveless at the job, because that is a formal context. In the context of a tennis match, which is a physical activity, only a snob would say it is unclassy to wesr a sleeveless T-shirt.

I have my views on varieties of issues but I try my best to keep it intact. On some bad days I lose it, on the good ones not so. Opinionistic messages often are controversial which is what you probably are attempting to raise our manhood here for.

But I bet you allow those scantily clad bodacious chicks hit their balls on baselines there. Their tennis fashion and choices truly are more open than the male ones' but then so are some of them when they choose to date good looking high profile sleeveless tennis players. Most importantly though, the club where you are at seems well in control of situations from which hot baseline females wouldn't hit on sexy male net players. Pretty staight club you've got there with a male dress code in effect.

I like the look of the fat hairy guy with sweat dripping of of his armpit hair. Especially when I’m eating lunch.

Imagine if we had a thread talking about what women should or would not wear, it would have been taken down immediately.

ok, as if his arms are invisible in a t-shirt. i don't even like zverev but get over it. it's hot. sleeveless has more air circulation. it doesn't make sense for tennis players to bulk up their arms; even nadal was skinny before he got older and started holding onto mass involuntarily. watch something else if you only watch tennis for professional muscly men in tank tops...i suggest your local male s***p club. now those guys are professionals.
