Hey i play with confidential 16L but am breaking every 4-5 days with it. Should i go to 16 gauge? I string my own rackets. I’m apart of team solinco so i don’t want to leave solinco strings. I also use a wilson blade v8 16x19.

yea not alot of difference , 16 gauge will play just as well

I have a question this string,, i been trying both Confidential and Luxilon alu power,, both in same gauge,,,, i just feel like spin potential is basically same with alu power and confidential... i find this odd cause Confidential is shaped poly and its supposed to give you more spin , i thought ??

I think that Alu has decent string-to-string friction, so the snapback helps with spin while Confidential gets its spin from the bite of the shape (string-to-ball friction). So they achieve spin differently but I can believe they would produce similar spin with good technique.

Loving this string in 1.20. To me, I feel I get a lot more control and the string isn't as dead as other control type strings. I plan to check out the other gauges and see how they feel as well.

Are you talking about the Confidential in 1.20 gauge ?? if so i would agree with you,, it also makes that Cannon like sound(Thunderous bang) if you are fairly hard hitter and hit clean.... other polys don't really make this sound,,,not sure why ?

The sound is fantastic. I've only tried Confidential in 1.20.
Do you have experience with the string 1.25 or 1.30? I usually play with a thicker gauge in other polys

i do have experience with 1.25. it has much better control, lower launch angle too. but spin generation is tad bit lower, but trade off is you have much more precision with 1.25 gauge

Where on the racquet is the string breaking? In the middle or on the edge? Same area everything? There may be an issue with your racquet grommets or your stringing if it's always in the same place.

Hi Everyone,
I would like to fit the Solinco confidential (1.25 - 22/21 Kg) on my new Boom Pro (2024). Do you think it is a good string for this racket ?
Last thing, what do you think of Dunlop explosive speed (1.25) on this racket? @Trip Your opinion?

@Pet_82 - Confidential in the BP would probably help calm down the string bed a bit, as it's fairly firm, but Conf is also somewhat muted, and the Booms themselves are fairly muted in feel as it is, so you might want something more crisp. From Solinco, that would definitely be Tour Bite, or Tour Bite Soft if you don't mind the additional tension loss. As for Dunlop Explosive Speed, I've only tried it once (in 1.30 Black) and it was super stiff, boardy, almost lifeless and pretty harsh. If you like that in a string, or you need to use something to calm down a really wild string bed, then it may be the answer, but I would make sure to start off tensioning it low, like on the bottom end of the range that you typically ever string at, and then maybe even a bit lower. Kind of like how one might string Lux 4G.
