Just got home from getting bludgeoned 6-2, 6-1 by a 5.0. In my opinion, he had a 4.0 serve, a 4.0 backhand, and a 5.5 forehand. Definitely beatable, but not tonight.

I take away that it was a 1h 20m 6-2, 6-1 loss, so most of the games were close, and the fact that I feel I played pretty damn well. But there were just too many forehands that went by me untouched to recover.

Oh well, just getting back into tournament play and am going to have learn to bend over & take my beatings like a man...

We played a college pair in the finals. They steamrolled us in the 1st 6-0. I told my partner "we can either throw junk at them, or hit the cover off the ball, but we need to change something or this match is going to be over quickly".

He suggested the latter, and we scraped our way back into it, winning the 2nd 6-4 and the 3rd 6-2.

Our opponents both play for Bridgewater. This past spring they were #4 & #5 singles, and #2 doubles. It looks as if they are now #3 & #5 singles, but #1 doubles.

After losing in the singles, it feels good to win something...

We were up 8-5 in a match TB at 2-2 versus Southern but their guy came back and won. They won out so we never made it out of our flight even though we won the next 2 team matches. I won my only singles match so I may be stuck at 5.0 which is a joke when you watch the 5.0s at Nationals who would double bagel me.

Congrats Mclovin,

You had a Agassi French Open 99 like run with your two matches for to the title.

Hopefully you didn't dress like Tom Brady for your press conference. Since I see no video/pics.. here are my questions:

When you won.. how did you immediately celebrate? Chest bump? Federer like fall? Nadal on your back with fists in the air? Tsonga dance? Or Serena jumping up and down?

Please describe your mix match outfit for the finals? Humor me.

Please tellus the racquets used by your opponents and partner.

Please post a pic of your "paperweight".

None of the above. A simple 'Yeah!', fist pump & 'bro-style' handshake w/ partner.

Both days were these shoes:

NikeZoomBreathe12_450.JPG

Semifinals was black Nike crew w/ Athletic DNA long sleeve under it (temps were in the 50s) and white Lacoste shorts.

Finals was red Nike crew w/ black Fila James Blake long sleeve under it (again, temps in the 50s) and black Lacoste shorts.

Please tellus the racquets used by your opponents and partner.

Semifinal opponents: Babolat PDR & Prince EX03 Warrior (I think), both lefties.

Final opponents: Head YOUTek IG Speed (lefty), Babolat Pure Storm Tour GT (righty).

Partner: Head Liquidmetal Radical MP.

Please post a pic of your "paperweight".

Mclovin, congrats on the win! Especially after getting bageled in the first set. I had 3 matches and a practice hit on Saturday. I was dead tired afterwards.

No work laptop right now - broken!

What's for lunch people?

What time did your match start? I had a 10am start outside - which was not fun. Plus the wind didn't help anything. I think it was in the 30s in the beginning.

Yeah, we started at 10:30. It was cold & overcast, but by 11 the sun had come out and it ended up being a really nice day. Still slightly chilly, but the wind had died down by that time.

Played on Saturday morning around 8:30am. You know it's cold when fresh cans of balls don't bounce and multi strings felt hard as a rock...

@wookie good to hear you didn't get hurt.

You should of install that tow hitch like sappy did in his car. You would of gotten instant revenge.

LOL!

any guess how long it'll take till a used graphene rad pro shows up for sale? Really trying to convince myself not to get one new.

If the TW review is any indication, this will be a popular frame. Not betting they turn up too soon.

I go back and forth between "I don't play enough to care" to "hmmm..... should I get a Rad or the PDR?"

No, SHE wishes. BTW, I'm a grandpa and I don't drive a Mercury or a Sable or a wagon.

If she gets a Bugatti that means my next car will have to be something like a Zonda or Mclaren.

are these wings good? what is this place? i'm assuming it's near your office...

Big Daddy's Pizza. It's literally right next to Tennis Serv. I've had them 4 times now, and other than the one time when they mis-labeled my wings and my co-worker got the As$ Kickin' and I got medium, they've been great.

I think the best is still them Frozen Perdue Buffalo Wings from Costco. You get like 30 of them for $14.
Good blend of large meaty wings and heat.

Edit: Also, the ones at Ledo's are really good as well. It has a really crunchy crust and they have dipping sauces as well. Worth trying out.

I loooove Ledo's Pizza, it's a polarizing pizza. I feel like people either hate it or love it.

Ledo's Pizza is the onyl pizza joint my wife will order from. I like it and it's good, but there's something about the small pieces that makes me want to eat the whole friggin pie.

Given downs' sickness (racquetaholoism) I think we'd all be more amazed if he didn't have a V1 Classic...

in my defense...i have had one main stick, pure storm, then pure storm tour chop -- that i've been using for the past 3 years of my short usta career...i partake in something i like to call "buy and try" -- it's the ultimate in demo'ing...
