I’m gonna pretend like the Heat’s last three games never happened
Even the 7 game losing streak was better personally, I was confident that everything would be fine in the end and it was but after each game ive watched recently I’ve been legitimately pissed off and in a bad mood
Bam has been HORRIBLE jimmy has been too quiet, we lost josh Richardson we replaced him with 35 year old Patty mills. Rozier production has been great but still.
I don’t know if my lack of basketball knowledge is showing, but I’ve watched the past three games and aside from bam completely sucking balls and Jimmy not being a superstar (but still getting his guys in spots, feeding, playing quieter so not that bad w 17 pt avg I’d say) I don’t really know wtf the adjustment is. I mean they’ve all been close and played some quiet minutes down the stretch w bad fouls so maybe that would be my guess but the fact it happened thrice in a row makes me consider otherwise. My hot heat take is that the most important players are not Jimmy Butler, Terry Rozier, or Tyler Herro but Bam Adebayo and Kevin Love. If EITHER of them gets hurt in the post-season or even in the rest of the season Miami is straight up COOKED. Say your prayers and kiss your hopes goodbye.
And I really think that says a lot about the presumptuous nature of our roster construction. Miami’s had this same hole for years and literally the only reason it’s not complete dire straights is because the front office lucked out and somehow, I have no idea how, everything went fortunate enough and the corpse of Kevin Love made a career resurrection. First, the Cavs had to be dumb enough to let him go for peanuts. Then, Miami had to beat everyone and get him. Then it had to be a good fit with Miami. Then, he would have to miraculously rewind the clock and start playing well again, and then he would even more miraculously play well at the backup 5 shortly after Spoelstra realized Zeller totally sucked. And even then the only reason I’m bullish is because he improved this year. Last years minutes were somewhat serviceable but somehow he turned around again and now he’s been legit solid. Basically I love Klove.
I think Denver has won 11? Out of the last 12 against them so if they can’t cop a win on Wednesday doesn’t look too good. Pretty sure they don’t have a single win over a top 4 team in the west
