UnderratedSlam
G.O.A.T.
7 missed set-points.
Damn, he is gonna be worse than Cilic.
Damn, he is gonna be worse than Cilic.
And I want to congratulate you on finally getting rid of this clown and his boardCongratulations to Novak, he has been far better than everyone else this year. And for most of the decade now he has been the man to beat, even on some occasions when someone else was ranked higher so it's a record very well earned. Expecting more great days for him next season too...
Yes, but Novak's SIX is LONGEVITY.
Who cares whether st is in a row or distributed.
Pete had no real competition, just a bunch of inconsistent guys whose form went up and down like jumping fish. Novak had/has to fight off Rafa. Big difference.
While I agree that Courier gets dodgy occasionally, there is need for THAT.Didn't Courier just try to devalue the slam count to make his PR statement for Novak.LOL!
A lot of these media guys (even the ex-pros) can't hide their biases. Courier was rooting for Novak to beat Rafa at the French and expected him to. He made a huge deal about the importance of the slam count before the final. Then Novak loses and he starts ccontradicting himself. He's no better than Wilander as a pundit.
Please go into details. But for injury he would have won WimbledonYeah, a Becker who only performed consistently indoors, and who had his last bigger year in 1995. In 1996 he won AO (with great luck, won't go into details), then got injured, and that was it pretty much.
I wonder what is the point of this endless overhyping. Some users just like to bash me, but truth is, I wasn't the one who was hyping Djokovic in RG. It were his fans who after Rome were saying for 3 weeks that he is in the best clay form of his career and nobody is going to stop him. He's gonna be out for blood at WTF this year. Watch out for him. I just saw some of his match against Coric which was pretty high quality. As long as Djokovic continues to move like this, he's gonna be a huge threat to make more history.
Now you know, for next time.Oh lord, I shoulda known that when I mentioned a Sampras achievement, you would come scampering in.
Generally, doing something consecutively carries more pressure than doing it over a long period - you're not allowed a single slip up.
So does this mean Nadal fans are made of sterner stuff. Past 3 weeks has seen all sorts of abuse at Nadal yet one post not salivating over Djokovic has sent his fan base into seemingly upset mode.

Because some of them are just disrespecting all other players. Reading this forum one might think Djokovic getting destroyed in RG final only somehow proves he is the GOAT even more. It honestly doesn't even feel like Nadal won any slams this year.I would understand if you were responding to a negative comment about Nadal or another player. Here they are just celebrating their favourite player getting year end #6.
It seems unnecessary to try to ruin the thread with negative comments
It's comparable to winning slams - It's much harder to win 4 in a row (only 2 guys were capable of this) than 4 non-consecutive slams (many ATGs could do it)? I agreeOh lord, I shoulda known that when I mentioned a Sampras achievement, you would come scampering in.

I had this conversation with @Djokovic2011 a few days ago. I do respect Djokovic, even though I don't like him. 99% of Djokovic fans simply disrespect Nadal though. You REALLY think any normal (read carefully, normal) Nadal fan is going to be upset about him not winning Paris masters when he just won a slam a few weeks ago?You weren't the one hyping him at RG? Lololol. Where the hell do you think Djokovic Open came from? It was your own invention. Quit the back peddling and trolling, and own it.
You should make that 5.5 bigger, make it more believable
This was not a full year.
That guy has no shame...You weren't the one hyping him at RG? Lololol. Where the hell do you think Djokovic Open came from? It was your own invention. Quit the back peddling and trolling, and own it.
When you wanna be on rushmore of tennis greats, slams are almost everything. The rest is getting yourself ready for slams.Wrong answer. You don't care about it because Nadal only has 1 big indoor title. Slam aren't everything. If that was the case, then the tennis season would only be 8 weeks long instead nearly 10 months.
Well, he was down 2 sets in R1 vs a brilliant in-form Johansson, and the referee basically screwed over Thomas on a big point, and then Becker vultured the rest of the match. Please go into details. But for injury he would have won Wimbledon
Lol, what on earth are you talking about now?!Because some of them are just disrespecting all other players. Reading this forum one might think Djokovic getting destroyed in RG final only somehow proves he is the GOAT even more. It honestly doesn't even feel like Nadal won any slams this year.
Nadal, Djokovic and Borg, I would assume? When you wanna be on rushmore of tennis greats, slams are almost everything. The rest is getting yourself ready for slams.
But anyways congrats to Novak. 6 is tremendous achievement.
3 goats, 3 goats, 3 goats baaaaaaaaaaaaa
Nadal didn't even play USO this year, but he is going to play a 250?Incredible achievement unless Nadal is desperate enough to play Sofia (which i doubt) so congrats to Djokovic! Well deserved.
It is sixth YE#1 no matter what you or any other butthurt troll says here LOL.
This was not a full year.
Next year it'll be 6.5.

What? Coric really had 7 setpoints? Just what the hell is wrong with the current tour... All the players are choking like crazy against Djokovic. He should have lost so many matches this year, but players are just mentally afraid of him. In 2019 players actually believed they can beat him. And don't tell me he is playing better this year than last year, this isn't true. We saw what happened when he actually faced an opponent who played well.7 missed set-points.
Damn, he is gonna be worse than Cilic.
Well, it doesn't even feel like Nadal won something this year. Djokovic lost 6-0 6-2 7-5 and yet his hyping didn't stop even for one day. Somehow it looks like his fans believe this loss only made him greater.99%? Quite the exaggeration. The people being disrespectful in here aren't the Djokovic fans last I checked. I didn't say you should be upset. My point is, focus on the player you like instead if trying to take the shine off another player you don't like.
Zero on his own serve.7 missed set-points.
Admittedly "only" one or two of those were on his own serve. But he had 5 or 6 before Novak had his first. What? Coric really had 7 setpoints? Just what the hell is wrong with the current tour... Not nearly enough on the return. If not for Coric's DF, he wouldn't have broken in the 2nd set early. Even on his 1st MP, he backed off several steps on Coric's 2nd serve. He kept doing that against Tsitsipas in RG and it cost him 2 extra hours on court.
Also remember last year WTF against Thiem. Played too defensively and lost a tight long match. Result? Getting routined by Federer next round.
Wrong. He had one or two on his serve.Zero on his own serve.

Nope.Wrong. He had one or two on his serve.

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. 3 on his serve.Nope.
You and the likes of Beckerserve and octogon are just frustrated that Djokovic has achieved such a huge milestone so soon after Nadal won RG(and in fairness it's understandable that you'd want the spotlight to be on your fave a bit longer)but at the end of the day that's your problem, not ours.Well, it doesn't even feel like Nadal won something this year. 1Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. 3 on his serve.
Good milestone but I wouldn’t say game-changing.You and the likes of Beckerserve and octogon are just frustrated that Djokovic has achieved such a huge milestone so soon after Nadal won RG(and in fairness it's understandable that you'd want the spotlight to be on your fave a bit longer)but at the end of the day that's your problem, not ours.
It's just that Djokovic fans find a way to turn every single match he wins into some GOAT record. Nadal won his 20th slam, I prefer that over anything Djokovic might achieve this year. I said it last year, and my opinion didn't change-Nadal shouldn't even play WTF, a tournament which disrespects him.You and the likes of Beckerserve and octogon are just frustrated that Djokovic has achieved such a huge milestone so soon after Nadal won RG(and in fairness it's understandable that you'd want the spotlight to be on your fave a bit longer)but at the end of the day that's your problem, not ours.

IMO he should just end the season now.
Lol, you'd be fuming with him if he ended his season now and you know it.It's just that Djokovic fans find a way to turn every single match he wins into some GOAT record. No, I wouldn't. One needs to be a really strange person to worry about Paris masters when he just won a slam a few weeks ago.Lol, you'd be fuming with him if he ended his season now and you know it.
Has he surrendered the slam race then? Shame really.
Looking forward to it as im hoping for a calendar slam for Nadal. To win RG in his worse possible conditions the way he did points to a Calendar Slam if he can avoid injury so something to look forward to.Lol. There are no slams left in 2020. We'll see what happens next year.
