In a dense pattern you would want to string 4-6 lbs less than what you normally do in an open pattern.
Otherwise it will be like a board.
That depends on the racquet and the racquet specs.

Initially because of the extra length and plow through, now I am addicted to the power and the sound it produces. The only stroke that I need to work on is the topspin lob, which was easy for me with the PS17 but not so with the PDT+. My serve and overhead results improved quite a bit, and all other strokes didn't suffer from the change. You switched because you wanted easy power and spin?

Yeah, it's busy on the throat with the new "ST RI KE" letting down the sides... I found a pic on IG.Thiem seen in roland garros using the new paintjob. Won't post the pic as i don't want to deal with post getting deleted but the photo on tennisnerds post (which got deleted) - cant see it anymore.
If you youtube thiem roland garros you'll be able to see. Paintjob looks abit busier but still fairly clean. Would've been cool to see an all orange pure strike with white lines instead. That way it fits with the aero and drive paintjob but still not bad
I couldn't find it.Mods have taken down my post, understandably so. There is a picture of the new pure strikes along with the release date on Tennisnerd's instagram.
Funny you say that: I've been using 28" racquets since the late 90s and that is the one shot where the degree of difficulty rises exponentially; you can still make TSLs on a good day, or when the conditions are heavy and/or you're using slow balls, but I find it so much tougher, more so on the forehand than the OHB, even though I hit with a lot of topspin on both sides normally. (Lefthander, for what it's worth.) First you get too much power and hit it long, then you smother it in spin and hit it short. If you're not feeling it, just rolling it over with less topspin and concentrating more on the height and depth helps, but it doesn't ever feel as natural as with a standard length racquet. It's also harder to stop the racquet head 'waving goodbye' on high volleys.Initially because of the extra length and plow through, now I am addicted to the power and the sound it produces. I wanted more control so quickly switched from the pure drive to the pure strike 18x20 p17 after a short experiment with the pure drive.Initially because of the extra length and plow through, now I am addicted to the power and the sound it produces. Available in stores this Fall?
Available in stores this Fall?
That's not good. Tennis season will be over by then where I live. What kind of marketing is that?
Demos are usually available a couple of months after the frame has been demoed by TW first. So that means demos won't be available for like 8 or 9 months from now.Going to grab a couple PS17's for now and demo this one when it comes out. Can't wait!
Saw a bunch of players with the 17 when it came out. Now I don’t see any. Clearly an overhyped frame. A less spinny, less powerful, equally uncomfortable Babolat.
A lot of these Pure Strike players moved on to Yonex VCORE and Wilson Prostaffs from what I’ve seen. Or back to the Pure Aero.
Are you just rubbing it in? Or is there a point to these pictures?
Lucky dog you...I am hitting with it tomorrow.
That’s what I stated earlier on a different thread. Tennisnerd said in an article it was June 19th. I don’t know where he got the info from.Someone mentioned that it would be released on June 19th. Not sure if it's true or not.
Myself and 13765245 others would be super interested in knowing the stiffness.I am hitting with it tomorrow.
??? Yeah no
I hit with the New pure strike 100, It is a little less stiff and more comfortable. It has a little more muted sound/feel then the old version, similar to the old pure aero and the new pure aero. Overall a nice update but not a big change.
The reps only have the 100
