If you pay for a full set you get to keep the leftovers.. if the stringers need more than a half, then they will charge you for the full set. I have had a stringer use more than a half (not by much) and only charge me for a half because he was going to string a 90sqin frame and he had enough for that job..

Well, he can't make me pay for a full set, because I already bought the set at TWE. I still paid 13€ and expect to get two string jobs out of one set (or well, one set of each string).

I'm questioning how he could need more than half really. If everything is done right he should at most need to use a starting clamp to bridge the final main.

Yeah, I don't get it either. The string job looks just fine, but I don't know much about stringing, so I can't judge if everything is done right. Might upload (or send you) a pic later this week. Does this mean, I basically wasted about 17€ on gut I can't use anymore or is it possible to use leftovers + part of a new set? Ugh, anyways, changing my stringer.

Played for the first time today. Please note, that I'm still a beginner (playing for 1 1/2 years, probably a NTRP 3.0 on good days ;)) and when I talk about pace you'd probably still consider it slow :D

The racquet feels very great. I enjoyed volleys, overheads and serves the most with it. It felt so stable and offered easy power and control. My serves were a lot faster than with the Ai100, but I still have to adjust as quite a few were going long (by a relatively small margin though). I think I noticed spin for the first time on a serve of mine (when I tossed the ball a little too far to my left - serving with my left arm, playing with the right ... strange, I know).
The groundstrokes felt solid and the racquet shined the most when I took full and fast swings. However, my movement was off today (felt a little tired) and thus, had some mishits - but no harsh feelings on the arm, even on off-center hits. But nothing that didn't happen with the Ai100. :p
I was a little worried about the - unmeasured/estimated - higher swing weight, but the racquet felt very maneuverable and quick through the air. I might measure it by using the TW method later this week, but it might not be in the 340s even - at least it doesn't feel that way.

I don't regret buying that frame and I'm sure I'll have a lot of fun with it. Can only imagine what somebody with a good serve could do with it. :D

Have you tried Pro line 2? Give it a shot sometime
I had it in my Prestige MPs, it was ok but much preferred silverstring to it. Better feel and about the same spin.

Fact is I prefer more spin potential than PLII or Silverstring have and RSlyon gives that kind of control and syn gut like pocketing sensation that I love (Only other polys Ive found with that are YPTP and Scorpion, both have more power than RSLYon). Wish RSLyon was crisper like silverstring but so far havent found it all in one string... not really expecting to find that. I need the ultra low power to tame the tc95 and RS Lyon is doing it. I havent lost many sets since I dialed in that combo. Silverstring hits great flat bombs and volleys wonderfully for a poly it just is a tad too much power and not enough spin for my use in the TC95.

I thought Pro line 2 was probably the closest string to RS Lyon for me. Its not a muted but has the low powered comfort and good tension maintenance. To me spin was about the same and yes silver string a bit less.

Well perhaps it requires another go round then... My game has changed a bit since then. Does it have that pocketing feel?

One question regarding stringing: apparently my stringer needed more than half of Tonic+ for the TC100. If I'm going to buy a new set can I still use (or let them use) the leftovers?

I certainly agree with @SpinToWin, stringer should not need more than 20' of string as a half set. Looking at the stringing instructions the TC100 needs 20' for the mains and 19' for crosses, and generally those published instructions are generous at least by 0.5 to 1' for length. I am not sure why he'd need more than 20' even for the mains.

Remaining strings should be usable, particularly for the crosses, but if stringer is careful not over-using it for the mains too; you'd hope.

I hope so. I mean, I have enough money to afford a new set of gut every few months, but that doesn't mean I want to spend it on it (especially if it isn't necessary). I was thinking about showing them the instruction for the TC100, but as they are "professional" stringers in a local tennis shop, I thought they are able to get it done right.

I have buttcap movement in 2/3 of my TC95's. The third one I just haven't played with as much, so I won't be surprised if it develops it as well. I haven't modified or built up my grips in any way. All of the buttcap staples seem to be present and properly installed, but there is still significant movement/creaking during my forehand swing. I have an extreme western grip, choked way down with my pinky almost off the racket, so I exert a lot of torque on the buttcap, probably a lot more than average. That said, I've never had this issue before even with 10 year old Wilsons. Paul suggested adding glue to the buttcap, which I tried on the worst offender, but it didn't really alleviate the problem. I may have to ship them back to him or to some tech in the US for repairs.
Just to follow up on this, Paul mentioned this is a known, although rare, problem with some players who hold the grip a certain way. Makes sense in my case. He has offered to ship them at his expense to a US tech to have them corrected.

Anyone know where in Philadelphia Advanced Racquets is? I think Paul is having me send my new TC95 11.4 oz 320g 12pts hl there to work out some issues with matching my previous TC95. Just received it and the balance definitely feels off.

Contact them on their website they respond fairly quickly. I can probably dig up the address that they shipped my racquets from but not sure if they want it given out.

I flare my handles (because of extreme backhand grip wher pinky is right on the end and actually does something. On my used tc95 used to have that creaky problem... just a little linen tape seemed to fix it (which I also use to build up the flare.

My new Tc95, ordered from paul doesnt have the issue at all.

I tried adding some glue to one but to no avail. Mine didn't have the issue off the bat but came up after about 10 hours of heavy hitting. Like I said though, I think I exert more torque on the buttcap than 95% of players (western grip, choked down to basically swinging holding only the buttcap w/ 3 fingers and thumb, violent swing). I was thinking about adding a tiny bit up flare up to the cap so many i'll try what you suggested.

I've had several creeking and noise problems from butt caps and were easily remedied by a couple of staples gun staples or brad nails. Saves you the hassle o sending it and and wait time to get it back.

I might try that but I don't have or have access to a staple gun, and I'd rather not risk damaging the racket/pallet unless I have to. Plus Paul is willing to repair mine one at a time (I have 3), so I can play with the remaining two during the process. He is very accommodating.

Gotcha. I've never dealt with Paul personally, but from what I gathered over the recent years is that Angell truly cares for their customers and stand behind their product. Still a small company for now that can have a more personal approach.

Ordered a racquet on Sunday from Angell. Got an email immediately from Paul confirming. He said he' let me know when the racquet shipped. I have read other posters have gotten their racquets within a week. Just curious what I should expect. The racquet is custom. Thanks.

Depends when the racquet is available. Shipping is very fast. Obviously 3-4 days within Europe and even US from what I've read. I had to wait a few weeks because Paul didn't have any TC100 63RA in stock.

Open it and post the pictures of your purchase [emoji4][emoji106]

Of course I opened it, but can't post the pictures because already gave it to stringer :)

It's a TC100 70RA 320g/310mm. Can't wait to try it next week!

It has been in transit for 3 weeks! Express delivery companies deliver to business addresses only in Russia so Paul had to make a special order for me and send the package via ems. Thank to him for the service!

Long journey...after departinf with my 2 TC95s i moved to a TC90...After my surgical tc90s I wanna get the tc97 now :D

Could someone plz compare the TC90 330g/12pts and TC97 330g/12pts 16x19?

Main reason is wanting a larger sweetspot. TC95 sweetspot is great but it doesn't feel right without lead at the sides for me which I don't like, and I've read that the TC97 doesn't require lead in those areas, more comfortable than the TC95. And I prefer to lead it at the top of the hoop rather than the sides since it personally feels better which is why I'd prefer the 97 > 95.

If you like the weight/balance of the racquet you can use Gorilla Glue. It foams up and excess can be trimmed off. The butt cap will be fused to the pallet. Getting it off may be a challenge but movement/creaking will cease.

Anybody play with multi in the TC95? How does it play? For reference, I currently use a full bed of Prince Premier Control in my IG Radical Pros. Just bought a used TC95 16x19 to play around with (which may lead to ordering 2 new ones to use as my main racquets). Seems like everybody is talking about poly here all the time, so wanted to see if anybody uses other strings.

Just put Babolat Xcel in the mains of one of my my TC95s. Double AR Viper poly in the crosses (18 ga. soft poly). 50 and 47 lbs respectively. Very sweet combo.

Hi Guys,
Been playing with 95 18X20 with the more flexible configuration. Have couple of 18X20 97's as well.
all my sticks are strung somewhere around 58/56 with gut mains and halo crosses. To my chagrin my old golfer's elbow has been aggravated. It is not good news since I am playing with an arm friendly racket. I am hitting with more topspin so perhaps my technique is not 100%. However, common sense tells me the 95 is more arm friendly. I may string with full gut. Has anyone had experience with full gut? any stringing suggestions in terms of tension. I know the Halo is not a poly but should they be cut out like poly's every 15 hours. I have never done well arm wise with poly's, even when they are in the crosses so perhaps this is contributing to my golfers elbow. I do all kind of exercises to keep my arm healthy so this is really a disappointment.
Any input is welcome and if for some strange reason some think the 97 appears a little more arm friendly let me know.
Thanks in advance.

You need to get down in the 40s with most poly's with the TC95s, even when hybridding with gut or multifilent.

Well glad that April fool rumour got sorted out quickly. I'm enjoying my new tc97 18x20 that I will most likely order another in the coming months. I'd like to keep one with gut/poly and the other one for wetter seasons. For those questioning how long it takes for the frame/s to arrive it depends. Some people get them in a week, depending on stock and specs required and location. It took me 14 days to be delivered downunder, I made a specific request in regards to swingweight and I was happy to wait. The final product / specs did not disappoint. Some people wait 2 years for a new racquet to be released only to find the tolerance levels way under / over spec...
