The toughest draw of all time: Nadal at Wimbledon 2019

Your inability to comprehend borders on being charming, in a Forrest Gump sort of way. Yes, it's conditional captain obvious. There is not a single player on tour outside of the big 3 that are particularly consistent. I see the idea of ceilings is beyond your grasp and you are just going to carry on with your inane objections.

Yeah, Fed fans don't post "nonstop nonsensical threads" according to you. You are quite the objective kid hahahaha.

You chose to come after me, then call me names, now compare me to movie characters?? Then finally unload on "Fed fans" because you couldn't handle constructive criticism.

No need to guess your age then. Yep, small aged people with issues. Quite the match actually.

Today: Querrey.

Lol. The draw was mediocre. But considering the quality of today's men's tennis outside the big 3, most draws are mediocre or worse until the semifinals. You have grandpa Federer making the semifinal of Roland Garros ffs at 38. If that is not proof of weak field nothing is.

A Federer - Nadal and a Federer/Nadal - Djokovic at Wimbledon is going to be spectacular. Have we ever had these 3 in the semifinal before, can't remember it with all 3 in top 4 until this year.

Gramps has made it to QF or better in the last 5/6 FO he played. His weakest surface.

In contrast, Oldal has made it to QF or better in the last 2/6 Wimb he played, including today’s result.

That says a lot.

Federer fans now say that Nishikori is playing his best tennis in a long time and if we add that he is relatively rested this time, he is a risky rival, even more dangerous than the big server, Querrey.

No that's Nadal fans who apply double standard.

Nishikori played well but nit his best. Happy?

When Nadal beats Novak at the Us open Novak played the tennis of his life.
When Novak beats Nadal at the FO: injury not fit not the good year etc etc

Not a single seed before the semi-finals for Rafa. A draw that looks difficult to casual observers, but actually is played against guys who've done nothing for 12 months.

True. To be more precise, here are the current ATP rankings for Nadal's first five opponents at Wimbledon 2019:

Sugita: 274
Kyrgios: 43
Tsonga: 72
Sousa: 69
Querrey: 65

I know that rankings don't tell the whole story, but does that look like "the toughest draw of all time"? No seeded players, no one ranked even in the top 40.

By contrast Federer, whose draw to date would not be considered especially difficult, has already played three seeds - Pouille (27), Berrettini (17) and Nishikori (8).

Nadal already had little chances to win Wimbledon before the draw (last year he was close to win), but with this draw he has literally no chance. Nor would Federer or Djokovic win with this draw. No one can. This is the toughest draw of all time.

Here is Nadal's draw:

1R: Sugita

2R: Kyrgios

3R: Tsonga (Tsonga almost defeated Federer at Halle, and many Fed fans said they did not want to have Tsonga in Federer's draw).

4R: Cilic (Wimbledon finalist, has been close to defeat both Federer and Djokovic at Wimbledon in the past).

QF: Querrey (great serve, Eastbourne 2019 finalist, defeated Djokovic at Wimbledon 2016).

SF: Federer

F: Djokovic

This is the most brutal draw the history of tennis has ever seen. Not even the US Open 1990 comes close to this. Sampras had to defeat Muster, Lendl, McEnroe and Agassi to win the US Open 1990. But Muster, Lendl, McEnroe and Agassi "only" sum 23 Majors between the four, while Cilic, Federer and Djokovic sum 36 Grand Slams between the three. McEnroe, Lendl and Agassi are "weak" ATG compared to Federer and Djokovic.
Tsonga and Cilic weren't anywhere close to their best nor highly ranked at that point. And Querrey is stronger in the first 3 rounds.

For those of you who were around in 2019 - were all those likes on Sport and Weakera's posts sarcastic? Did people actually believe this stuff? Lol
