Simple. There can not be a hard draw in today's era. I won't necessarily say they are all easy (winning 7 matches and possibly playing one or two ATG), but none are hard.
Looking at Rafa's draw at first might have looked like the hardest draw for him (still not on par with old draws of past), but it did not come to fruition, whether by players not playing to their supposed level or whether they did not reach him.
I mean seriously, what would be the hardest draw?
Round 1: Zverev (top 10) -out 1st round
Round 2: Thiem (top 10) -out first round
Round 3: Tsitsipas (top 10) -out first round
Round 4: Fognini (top 10) -out 3rd round
QF: Nishikori (top 10) -still in it?
SF: Federer (top 10) -37 years old or Anderson (top 10) -out 3rd round
F: Rafa or Djoker (ATG) -both over 32
You can't dream of a hard draw.
ATP stands for Average Talented Players as they all are average tennis players with talent apart from big 3.
