lol yea djokovic creamed nadal and is the better hard courter. I think if you beat Djokovic and Murray like the way he did in two consecutive days, you are the hard court goat. It means more to beat Rafa on clay than to beat him on HC.

When he improves his head 2 head against Nadal?

When Nadal starts making it past the quarters or semis in more than one or two fast HC tournaments, maybe Fed could. Once Wimbledon is over, Nadal almost never makes it to the final, whereas Fed almost always makes it.

Silly, silly thread. I like Federer, but threads like these are just dumb and intended to start arguments and nothing else.

Silly, silly people, when will you finally realise that Fed is the MAN!!!!

Yeah, man, I'm with you. He's the greatest. He played like a champion today. I love seeing that.
It's actually better in a way than when he was THE dominant player. Now, there's more suspense to his matches to serve as a counterpoint to his jawdropping tennis. Like the 3rd set meltdowns against Muzzer, Djerko and Tsonga.

Anything could have happened today...but the BEST man won.

Sidenote: I'm no Carillo fan, but I loved what she said about him as a father (just non-stop loving on his girls).

Roger's such an intimidating player, and such a sweet dad.

Bravo! Hopp Schwiiiiiiz!

Federer????

When he improves his head 2 head against Nadal?

If Nadal repeately doesn't make finals in the latter part of the year, then how is that Federer's fault?

Sorry, I just get tired of this Federer - Nadal head to head quotation belitting of Federer's accomplishments. The head to head is skewed because of the large numbers of times they have played on clay (11 out of 20 overall - only 9 matches on all surfaces other than clay).

Currently Federer leads the non-clay head to head between them 5 to 4. Federer would be leading the head to head overall if they played as many finals in the North American hard court season and the US open and the post US Open indoor hard court season, as they have played in the European Clay Court season. Their head to head is seriously skewed because the huge majority of the time they have played on European Clay which is Federer's worst surface and Nadal's best.

Don't believe me?

Check out the number of finals that Nadal has made at the US Open final (0) + Number of Masters Cup finals that Nadal has made (0).

Federer - US Open Finals - 5
Masters Cup Finals - 5

Nadal is an amazing athlete and tennis player. Absolutely no doubt about that. But statistics such as the head to head need analysis and context to get their true meaning.

thats the problem, fed is good enough to meet nadal in the finals on clay (nadals best surface) but nadal isnt good enough to consitently meet fed in the finals of HCs, thus the lopsided H2H, this argument is sooooo lame

Everyone knows Nadal is better on clay than Fed, so his H2H will be better on clay. Since they played a lot on clay Nadal looks good.

The H2H looks like it should, favoring clay and Nadal.

We all know this already, no?
