TRU PRO (formerly Tier One Sports) Tour Status

This may just be the string that a lot of us have been sleeping on. It's crisper than Black Knight but has similar durability and performance.

It plays exceptionally well in frames that are more muted by providing good feel, feedback, and response.

As @JGads described in the holic thread, it's a black string that plays like a silver string.

Tour Status is my go-to poly. I think it's a great beginner poly because it's so middle ground. I actually like FireWire in the crosses for some more horizontal bite. I believe that it's the exact same material as FW, just shaped differently.

Status is far closer to Bk than Fw. I've never understood what T1 is trying to do with Status, should really add some zinc oxide and crisp it up to add some meaningful bite over BK.

Status is meant to be the crisper and livelier version of BK. I started liking BK less in some of the more muted frames I was playing/demoing and Status was the solution. Similar performance but better feel and response than BK.

It seems everyone feels strings differently. So yeah, no point in trying to agree on a comparison between two polys that aren't night and day.
It would have been different if he had posted some actual information to substantiate or support his claim. But he's obviously just trolling. Best to leave him be.

Black knight was very enjoyable. It had great spin and loads of control. It was very low powered in the Phantom 100p. I am planning to try Status next. I am liking the comments that it will be livlier than BK with similar qualities. T1 has great strings. Firewire had better spin than BK, but it felt uncomfortable to me. The hybrid with GW fixed that nicely!

A lot depends on the frame. I’m finding Tour Status more similar to BK than to FireWire. But it is definitely crisper than BK…. Which I don’t really care for in my PK XLs. Rate BK higher in those.

But it’s great in my softer frames, maybe even a little better than BK. Not my main frames tho’

Status is definitely better in softer or more muted frames or if someone prefers a crisper/stiffer poly.

Yeah, I need a little more time with it but I think it will be my fav outside of PK's. The 16x20 in the PK's just seem to really gel with BK.

But there are a lot of frames where Tour Status could be #1. But heck, I tried Durafluxx and found I like that too, although it is more dead than BK and Tour Status by quite a bit. Durafluxx might be great in something like a Clash 98 or other power frame as it really dials in the control even more, if that is even possible. Tier One is making some great products.

I did also liked Durafluxx. I Tried it in a power frame (head extreme mp if I recall correctly) and liked very much the control and feel I gained.

After the feedback on Durafluxx being deader than dead, I passed on it.

I may need to try a TS/GW or TS/Grey Fire setup in the near future though.

haha, yeah it’s dead. But on those nice cool evenings when you’re in the zone and can really swing out, it’s a fun string. Now granted, we’ve only had one of those since April but it was glorious.

Continuing to be impressed by this string. I've now played it in both the 1.25 and the 1.30 gauges. I definitely prefer the 1.25 as it is more comfortable without sacrificing longevity.

I've also played it in a variety of racquets and the response is consistent: lively and crisp without being uncomfortable (even on off-center hits).
