1 - 1 Chokes on volley

2 - 1
Haas comes in, blake bh return from the corner, Haas volleys into open space

3 - 1

Blake puts his forehand into the net

and then haas puts an easy slice into the net, and blake rips a winner off the serve. these guys have me all messed up haha.

Switched sides

Long exchange, haas drop shot, blake rushes in gets it back, gets a candle, gets a half volley at the net, then misses another candle by haas

5-3

6-3 Blake misses forehand I think

that point took it out of blake...haas now up 6-3 in the tiebreak, and 3 match points.
...this has been one phenomenal match

great end to the match. too bad blake's out, he was definitely the most exciting player to watch this USO.

I was watching it at the beggining and it was dry playing, really picked up this last set. Great to watch, memorable finish, the crowd was really into it.

Nikolai Davydenko is crying in JOY. You can book Nikolai into the semis now. Niko owns Haas whereas Blake owned Nikolai. do i know how to pick em or what??

grafrules should learn how to make it so you can't vote after the match has started. I just picked Haas in 5 to make a point - I'm so omnicient.

Ahh disappointing tiebreak for James but Haas deserved it after those great serves to save match points, great match with a somewhat disappointing ending.

It is pretty amazing when a player hits a lob under pressure, and Haas came up with two amazing ones in the breaker.

Felt sorry for James in the end. He had it in the bag.

It is nice to see either Haas or Blake win, both journeymen type player.
Gotta to wait another year to cheer for Blake. :(

Haas wins!!

I didn't ever want to admit, but I knew Haas would win. Tough loss for Blake. What a game, and Congrats to both.

Spanish commentators were praising how courageous both players were today, going for their shots without hesitation. Nice match at the end, but a lot of strange momentum shifts before it, where one of the players was zoning with the other meekly being owned. Did they rig the match and agreed on letting the last tie-break decide? j/k

Good match, too close for comfort. Haas, seek revenge on Davydenko for last year!

I like Blake, I usually root for him (unless he plays Federer, whom he automatically gives up on), but I hate the J-Block. To have those losers, who started clapping on faults and chanting the score, have nothing left to root for, that makes me feel good. I really wish James would do something about them. I've read his book, and it just seems that those rules he made are not being obligated.

A rematch has to be made for Davis Cup, if both teams get there.

Sorry Ken but Niko owns Tommy haas.

Hardly. It was the misadventures of a bore (Haas) who could not get the job done by dragging out a match he should have won in 3 straight, considering how out-to-lunch Blake's mind was.
How is Haas a bore? His backhand alone has more personality than many people.
