I think a lot has been talked about how graceful these players make the game look, but Im often curious who hits the ugliest looking strokes on both the men and womens tour.
I would like to start the thread with Steve Johnsons 2 handed backhand
I can't sit through one Delbonis service game. It's like the visual form of nails on a chalkboard.Delbonis's serve is like an octopus falling off a ladder.

Honestly should just hit a one hander its not terriblehe has a 2 handed backhand?
Yeah Nads slice is weird tooI really, really hate Sock's slap FH
Hate Nadal's slice, too.
And Novaks isin't?Yeah Nads slice is weird too
Welp, pretty much every stroke of his game.Florian Mayer's serve
Nadal's contrived forehand.
Sampras' painful-to-watch service motion.
Anderson's awkward backhand.
Special prize for Gulbis forehand and Soderling serve. Both so wonky and excessive. You can tell they're not British.

STFU allready angry boy its not offence I like Nadal and admire his champions menatality, it has nothing to do with uglyness or beauty of of his shots. And Novaks isin't?
The first phase of her serve is a bit weird and mechanical, I agree. But once the ball is tossed it's a decent serve motion. And it's a killer technique - her 2nd serve is almost as effective as her first for setting up points. Great disguise; often, receiving players don't have a clue where she's placing it.Konta serve
Mannarino's groundstokes deserve a mention, especially that forehand. Though I find him fun to watch as with most French players.

Moderators let this forum go down to drain - and a few posters (like the one you mention) turned this into a crap fest...Back then when I registered posters like VamosBamos would get banned within a week (hey I even got banned for posting too many bananas emoticons!), now looks like moderation does not care anymore.
On topic:
@TheGreenMile yes Simon himself is honest about it and once said in an interview that he has crap hands lol.
Also agree about Mannarino, looks like he does not fully commit himself to hit a good forehand with pace.
@Fedeonic don't see much wrong about Leonardo Mayer.
But that country also produces Fognini....shotmaking, touch, aesthetics, and practiced nonchalance. The Italians call it "sprezzatura."From the country that has produced some of the greatest artists of all time as well as great designs has blessed us with the most artistic and aesthetically pleasing serve in the history of the men's game... Volandri.
