What's ridiculous is that the foot fault wasn't on MP... it gave 15-40 to Kim.

I hope it is discussed, Serena ain't no OG , she's the 'true no 1', so she must be called on this classless act.

So many slams and such a beautiful and full career (Serena Slam, singles, doubles, olympics), and still she can't behave on court (or press room, for that matter). Shameful.

Serena had been called on a foot fault already on the other side of the court. She was nervous, since she was down 15-30.

It was clearly a good call by the lines woman, no excuses.

Serena should not have dropped so many profanities or threatened to shove the ball *bleep* *bleep* *bleep*

She's supposed to be a world class athlete, and should have offered an apology for her behavior (racket abuse, etc) and langauge.

I have kids I teach that were watching the match. One of the kids can't even afford a new pair of shoes, and this was supposed to be the #1 woman player in the world.

Typical Williams defenders. It's always a conspiracy. Now it's not just the white ppl but also the Asian community out to get them. What a total joke. She went on a rage and made a total idiot of herself and then had the nerve after in the interview to say in a polite voice, "i'm not like that". Pack up and take your garbage back home. Leave the courts for the people that know how to act like they didn't come from a trailer park.

That's because most players in grand slam semifinals are smart enough not to foot fault.

Even if it was a foot fault, at least give Serena a warning instead of a penalty.

This was her 2nd offense.

Besides, Death threats shouldn't be taken lightly. I don't give a rats ass if she lost her temper, say something like that and you're out.

If that happened in the NFL or any other professional sports league that player would be suspended for a few games + some money. They do not take to their officials being threatened at all and players are dealt with stiff penalties when it occurs.

can Serena challenge the call? Anyway, if you were her, you would have lost your cool. IT'S MATCHPOINT PEOPLE!!
"i will shove the *32^^@% ball up your $*&&#@& throat" a little harsh on the lineswoman but oh well, you are about to lose the match on the stupid foot fault.

she sucks

Look according to the replay its clear that Serena foot faulted so its not the lines person fault for what happened. Serena shouldn't deny that she said 'I wanted to kill you' because many sources have already confirmed that she did so shes also a liar. All I have to say is that I had a lot of respect for Serena and that shes an American but now she totally sucks. I hate Serena, she sucks.

"If I could, I would take this ... ball and shove it down your ... throat and kill you," Williams said.

Personally I believe a foot fault is a lack of focus and part of the mental game of tennis. Serena has no one to blame but herself. Hopefully some sponsors pull out from her for her classless display.

all said and done.....it was a GS semi-final....let the players decide instead of a controversial call.

its a case of over-officiating....just let the players play

The blind fanaticism for Serena bothers me so much. Does anyone here have any video link that shows the same view of the lines-person? If you think you can positively make the call a foot-fault or not a foot-fault without solid evidence, that's just arrogant.

Now, I'm going to hesitantly trust the lines-person's judgment on this. She was put there for a reason: the officials felt she was qualified enough to be put there. She's the one who has first-hand experience and has the best viewpoint. She may have made a mistake, but none of us can say she has unless we have something definitive.

If anything, I applaud that judge for making a call, sticking to the rules of the game to the very end. Rules aren't made to accommodate a player when he/she feels the need to be. They are there to test a player from the very start to the very end.

If the rules are bent for players just because a game goes a certain way, then what's the point? That's like saying I should be allowed to cheat on certain school tests because they were tough.

A grand slam semi-final or not, it's not about what you think, it's about what is fair and true.

Now, if only NHL hires her to be referee...

NO! I did not say that!

And no need to call someone opinion as crap.. have some class

If it were a CLEAR double fault, it deserves it.. if any it looked too close to call at that juncture!!

A foot fault is a terrible call? What next if you were in charge? Not allowed to call certain balls out? Stupid!!!!

you just contradicted yourself.

"it looked too close to call at that juncture"
you are referring to the score (close to match point).
the foot being close to the line or not is up to the linesmen to call. If she clearly saw it as a foot fault, it's a foot fault. Doesn't matter what juncture it was.
