What year were the "Big 4" most equal?

Assume that the "Big 4" means Nadal, Federer, Djokovic, and Murray.

Yes, we can dispute the "Big 4" BUT here, for argument's sake, which year were they the most equal between them?

2011 to 2012. 2011 is skewed a bit because of Djokovic's level but Murray, Nadal and Federer all played some great matches in 2011.

Okay 2012, but is 2012 really stronger than 2008?

2008:
- Peak Fed
- Peak Nadal
- Near peak Djokovic
- Near peak Murray

2012 was not peak for Fed or Bull of even Djokovic or for anyone except Murray I'm just saying

That wasn't your question though.

2008 wasn't peak Fed sorry to burst your bubble. His level was horrible throughout the year. Not only he didn't even win a masters title, but he didn't even reach a HC masters final.

2012 was a much better year for him as far as I am concerned.

2008 is near peak for Djokovic but 2012 isn't peak?

Probably 2012.

Fed - 1 GS, 3 Masters
Djoko - 1 GS, 3 Masters, WTF
Rafa - 1 GS, 2 Masters
Andy - 1 GS, Olympics

Also H2H's between them that year were quite balanced.

Djokovic-Fed 3-2
Djokovic-Mur 4-3
Fed-Nad 1-1
Fed-Mur 3-2

Only Djok-Nads was less balanced (1-3) but with heavy clay skew, Djok winning the hardcourt meeting and Nads the clay ones.

2011 and 2012 were the only true big 4 years. 2010 was mostly about Federer and Nadal, 2013 obviously Fed wasn't really there, 2014 was only about Djokovic and Fed.

2015 could be another big 4 year if Fed steps his game up.

2012, although Murray's masters record that year and Nadal missing for half of it don't quite add up.

2011 was a closer year if it wasn't for Djokovic's dominance. They all made the last four of Grand Slams apart from Nadal at the Aus and Federer at Wimbledon. All won Masters and was the last time Murray consistently challenged at Clay semi-finals. All had a good haul of trophies that year, it's just that Djokovic's were shinier.

In 2012 Federer became number 1, how this is not peak ?!

Because peak Federer had like double the points of the 2nd guy and was able to be nr.1 for 4 years and won 3 slams per year.

2012 Federer barely edged out nr.2 and was there only for 15 weeks, won only 1 slam and made only 1 final.

You don't see a huge difference?
