Will TW sell again Wilson Pro Staff 6.0 85?

I hope so. I would buy a few. They are fun and a very useful tool for fixing / learning - like a T-38 trainer jet for your groundstrokes.

Somebody needs to start a company that tries to make exact replicas of these frames, with a different paint job of course but using clones of the molds and layup structure. Of course it wouldn’t be just the PS85 but also other classics like Head Prestige 600, Puma Becker Special, etc. It’ll be like the homage watch industry but for racquets.

Like Vollaix does with clothes.

I doubt they’ll do another run. IIRC they did three batches - first two sold quick and the third sat for a while.

Angell tennis does this. Prince made the Phantom 93.

No one will copy the frames perfectly. It will never work anyway. The purists will find reasons that its not exactly like the old model and just stick with their old frames. Plus I doubt anyone is going to source a bunch of twaron and old molds just to do this. It's a losing business plan.

Tons of TT poasters always say "X company will make a million dollars if they re release such and such model" and then if it happens, they are denounced as not the same by many of the same people and no one buys them. Perfect example the Ps85 reissue. Better example of a successful mid that not enough people bought. - the IG Prestige mid. A totally legit alternative to the PC600.

Best bet is buying from Angell, buying a P93 or hunting down an old PS85 online.

they are all gone, thank goodness. my only nostalgia frames are a POG, an agassi, and a UT97. all of which actually work in my clumsy hands.

From your sentiment, I guess the reissue was no good. I have a near mint condition 200g Pro that I just hit with today, strung with a full bed of poly. Amazed at how good it felt.

i just like the theory of an 85 much more than the practice. the pro staff 85 is great when you pure it, but i just aint good enough

The reissue feels very good. It’s a bit more flexible than the original versions which I actually prefer. Unfortunately they didn’t add 10-15 more square inches to the head size when they made the reissued batches and I’m not good enough to wield an 85 sq inch racquet.

I bought 6 of them when available initially thinking I’d maybe go back and re-live my high school years. I hit one for maybe an hour and the others are still new in packaging:). Too demanding for current game lol
