Ljubicic. He belongs on that list.
Moose Malloy said:That list is sad. This has to be the weakest era of grasscourt players ever.
Fernando Gonzalez would have skipped Wimbledon had he played ten years ago because he wouldn't be able to win more than 1 or 2 matches.
You forgot to put Grosjean on that list. Apparently he's one of the 5 best grasscourt players today(sigh)
Yes I miss the great grass court days when you had Malivia Washington in the finals and Jason Stoltenberg in the semis in the same year, followed by Cedric Pioline in the finals and Todd Woodbridge in
Moose Malloy said:At least they could volley. Coria, Ferrero, Gonzalez all made the 2nd week last year without S&Ving once(or volleying much period) They should just officially call W a green hardcourt, it certainly doesn't resemble grass anymore.
Moose Malloy said:Its bizarre though. Players are coming to net more on clay than grass. What the hell is going on?
There are a lot more longer points on clay, eventually more short balls force players to come in because it is not as easy to hit winners. On grass, the points are not as long even though it is much longer than used to, when a short ball occurs, players are going for out right winner rather than as approach shot.
Yes but he has come off the injury. So he is a question. I don't think he will be able to make the semi's again this yearhoosierbr said:Tim Henman is always a contender but given how far he's dropped in the rankings I doubt Wimby can get away with seeding him which means his draw will be very tough. But hey, Goran came back from the and won as a wildcard, beating Tim in that epic semifinal. Maybe it's finally Tim's turn!
Didn't see Thomas Johansson on that list. SF last year. If his serve is firing he's going to be a threat too.
Agassi is always a contender in any tournament. If he's healthy and on the other side of the draw from Federer wouldn't be shocked to see him in the last four.
Doesn't count, his results at any Slam where bad till this year and now a quarter and SF - he should be a lock for the 2nd week given he's seeded pretty high!J-man said:I don't think Lujbcic will go far. His results at wimbledon aren't great. Anicic I think if the draw is nice could go quarters
Ditto!federerhoogenbandfan said:Why on earth are Murray, Bhagdatis, and Nadal on the poll instead of Ljubicic, Grosjean, Ancic, or even Berdych or Gasquet who have better games for grass then any of those three. It is no surprise those three have no votes so far.
Though I agree. Part of the reason Ljubicic isn't on there is because he hasn't had the best Wimbledon reocrd as I stated in my last postfedererhoogenbandfan said:Why on earth are Murray, Bhagdatis, and Nadal on the poll instead of Ljubicic, Grosjean, Ancic, or even Berdych or Gasquet who have better games for grass then any of those three. for some reason your post is just really funnysiber222000 said:nadal cant win wimbledon... it's just... nah...
Phil said:You pathetic wretch. The only reason you omitted Federer from this list is so you could, hopefully, see, in writing, from someone, "Lleyton Hewitt" in the same sentence as "Wimbledon" and "win". That's the ONLY hope you have. Even if Federer is INJURED (and can't PLAY), he'll STILL win it. He's that good on grass. (and I'm no Federer fanboy).
