I'd say Roddick but I have a feeling he wouldn't win. But no one else on there is as consistant as Roddick at Wimbledon (3 finals)

That list is sad. This has to be the weakest era of grasscourt players ever.
Fernando Gonzalez would have skipped Wimbledon had he played ten years ago because he wouldn't be able to win more than 1 or 2 matches.
You forgot to put Grosjean on that list. Apparently he's one of the 5 best grasscourt players today(sigh)

Tim Henman is always a contender but given how far he's dropped in the rankings I doubt Wimby can get away with seeding him which means his draw will be very tough. But hey, Goran came back from the dead and won as a wildcard, beating Tim in that epic semifinal. Maybe it's finally Tim's turn!

Didn't see Thomas Johansson on that list. SF last year. If his serve is firing he's going to be a threat too.

Agassi is always a contender in any tournament. If he's healthy and on the other side of the draw from Federer wouldn't be shocked to see him in the last four.

Obviously most people in the UK, like yourself.

If Roger doesn't win it, I'm hoping for either Hewitt or Roddick.

Ljubicic. He belongs on that list.

I definately agree.

Blake will be a deadly force at wimbledon. If he can maintain a good mental state, he'll make it to the semi's in my opinion. His fast pace game and power will suit the grass courts really well.

Andy Roddick. I really want him to win Wimbledon this year, If he does it will get his confidence back and might put him back on the right track.

Yes I miss the great grass court days when you had Malivia Washington in the finals and Jason Stoltenberg in the semis in the same year, followed by Cedric Pioline in the finals and Todd Woodbridge in the semis the following year. :p

At least they could volley. Coria, Ferrero, Gonzalez all made the 2nd week last year without S&Ving once(or volleying much period) They should just officially call W a green hardcourt, it certainly doesn't resemble grass anymore.

We have to just admit grass court tennis has changed dramatically since 2002. The good part is regardless how they change, more often than not, the best player still wins. Wimbledon simply gets in line with most other tournaments. I can see why W wants to change, I just don't understand why Australia Open wants to change from medium to slow.

True. I think the slower surface has alot to do with the players not volleying as much though.

Its bizarre though. Players are coming to net more on clay than grass. What the hell is going on?

There are a lot more longer points on clay, eventually more short balls force players to come in because it is not as easy to hit winners. On grass, the points are not as long even though it is much longer than used to, when a short ball occurs, players are going for out right winner rather than as approach shot.

So how come claycourt play of just a few years ago contained almost no volleying?(& guys going for outright winners on approach like Ferrero, Kuerten, Moya)
Tennis today is very strange.

Yes but he has come off the injury. So he is a question. I don't think he will be able to make the semi's again this year

I don't think either Ljubo or Ancic will win Wimby this year, but I hope they go far, and then, next year - it's going to be a competition between the two of them. ;)

I don't think Lujbcic will go far. His results at wimbledon aren't great. Anicic I think if the draw is nice could go quarters

Why on earth are Murray, Bhagdatis, and Nadal on the poll instead of Ljubicic, Grosjean, Ancic, or even Berdych or Gasquet who have better games for grass then any of those three. It is no surprise those three have no votes so far.

Doesn't count, his results at any Slam where bad till this year and now a quarter and SF - he should be a lock for the 2nd week given he's seeded pretty high!

Though I agree. Part of the reason Ljubicic isn't on there is because he hasn't had the best Wimbledon reocrd as I stated in my last post

True but he's coming off an eye injury, not shoulder or knee problems which have affected him in the past. His only problem is distance-judging but he's been trying out contacts to remedy that. Plus, his eyesight is slowly coming back so as long as he sees the ball good enough I think he'll do well. Again, like anyone, depends on his draw. ToJo had a pretty easy draw last year. The only dangerous player he faced was Nalbandian in the QF but Nalby didn't bring his A game. More like his F game. Hopefully he'll be in top form tomorrow. If he is he'll give Federer a run for his money.

That makes me oddly suprised - restores my faith in humanity a little. (And no, I'm not a Nadal-hater, I'm a....realist ;)).

Who do u think will win?

You pathetic wretch. The only reason you omitted Federer from this list is so you could, hopefully, see, in writing, from someone, "Lleyton Hewitt" in the same sentence as "Wimbledon" and "win". That's the ONLY hope you have. Even if Federer is INJURED (and can't PLAY), he'll STILL win it. He's that good on grass. (and I'm no Federer fanboy).

Exactly... no hope that federer wont win... no one can touch him on grass. And as stated above... injured or not.

Really stupid poll.

Andre the giant. Roddick would crack under the pressure and Hewitt, despite his impressive French Open run, is still not what he used to be.
