People forget that in addition to playing Anderson, Thiem, Medvedev and Wawa, Nole played TWENTY ONE Slam Finals against Rafa, Fed or Murray. Compare this to Fed playing old Philly, Andre-Tep, Baggy, Gonzo, Cryic (twice), Roddick (X4), Hewitt, Safin, baby Rafa on grass, baby pre-Coeliac Nole and so on and you get a sense of why people balk at comparisons between his competition and Djokodal's

Because it clearly has very little meaning. Medvedev has a far higher number, but are you really going to look us in the eye and say he was a stronger slam opponent than Roddick or Baghdatis?

Are you kidding me? He is clearly better player compared to mentioned two... It's not his fault he played iron man in the final... Off course, he could do better, but it's so hard playing zoning Novak in AO final...

I'm not talking about who the better player is, I'm talking about how it's relevant to their performance in the final.

Just like I'm sure Andre Agassi being an All Time Great player doesn't stop you from calling him a weak opponent in the 2005 US Open final.
