These videos were taken of me and my friend warming up, we're not trying to hit hard, just really focusing on keeping the ball in play. I'm the guy wearing a red shirt. I'll just give you guys the youtube channel and you can look through all my videos (there is a total of 5).

Thanks!

Video #1.
I liked the placement of the camera. However, you could have pulled back a bit to allow for more image in the frame. The lighting, although natural, is good.

Video #2.
The placement of the camera is poor. Should have been elevated a bit. Could have placed the camera on the fence top.

Your image is dark, in the background, with that red shirt. For this video, white would have been a better choice.

Video #3.
Better camera placement, but still, a bit higher would allow for clearer viewing of your image. Overcast! Sunlight would have been better. The Sun gives life! All your videos are C+ and B's.

Good work and nice playing! Hope you have a since of humor?

Good place to start is sending these to your Coach. You know the guy across the net?

Mechanically, you're sound, but you know this already so....

OH..I get it, your fishing for compliments...

Nice Strokes dude!

I'm actually the guy across the net :), the guy in the rest shirt is my cousin and he asked me to post these here. We live in Brazil but are here on vacation and he was trying to find out if he could play tennis for a college here. I know it's hard to judge without seeing match play, but if you had to make an educated guess, what level would u say he is?

why can I not edit my posts?

You will need 50 replies for this to happen. Unfortunately, at least in my case, your name turns blue.

I like the green.

I posted repeatedly for a couple of days just to rack up 50 Posts. Actually caring little about what I said.

"Caring little about what I said." That's humor.

The guy with the Red shirt can easily play college tennis here. I've seen countless times guys much less skilled than him playing for colleges.

Your cousin looks a lot like my friend. He also plays tennis and has huge serve, so I got fooled when watching the serve video.

I like the service and backhand. The forehand does give me a little bit of a twitch when I see it though.

oh, I dunno, I think the forehand if fine, you can be a bit wristy on that side. Liked the fluent switch to the bh slice at 0.26 in the backhand video,. Your cousin's 2hbh seems to drop a little short sometimes.

(You aren't too bad yourself, just saying)

I will be so happy the day I can play like that. Seems like you would have no issues playing college tennis here.

you can't post a video of a good server. that is not TT culture. NTRP rating on serve is maybe 6. TT serve rating is about 3.5

From those vids he can almost certainly play D2, looks like a solid player. Depending on how good his movement really is he may be able to play mid D1. I could very well be wrong though, if his play against a better opponent goes UP in match play he may be in the upper D1 class of player. I highly doubt however that he could compete with the likes of DK, Brad, Steve, or players of that caliber.

very impressive serve which looks looks like a lower ranked pro serve in form and speed. Very nice form on fh and bh but both look tentative which makes me wonder if they hold up in high level match play?

Hello Peoplepeace,

I heard you are a professional tennis player in another thread. One poster nominated you as a player who might win the most slams in the next 10 years. I was very impressed with that. I just dropped by and said hi. Thanks.

Just to be clear, that is me and my cousin, my cousin is wearing a red shirt, and I'm the guy hitting with him. I said in the beginning I was the guy in the red shirt because he asked me to come here and make a thread as if that were me.

But anyway, thanks everyone for the comments so far, is there anything technique wise that he might be able to fix? I would appreciate it if bungalow bill, or that nice gentleman from the middle east would critique his technique.

Thanks again!

LOL nice (wait, did I just use sarcasm?!) way to generalize 1.5 billion people... You're right, I'm very unfamiliar with irony and sarcasm, so I'm just gonna tell you straight up - not only are you a delusional tennis newbie, you're also an uneducated, uncultured bigot.

Sorry for being so straightforward. Not.

I only say this because the guy in red is a good player, but in the serve video, when he throws the ball up, when he is waiting for it to come down, there is a very small hitch that is robbing him of power.

I happen to view the serve video only. It is a good serve but as the ATP100 says that there is a brief hitch when he waits for the ball. I failed to see the ball toss; however, if the ball toss is high it forces you to wait. Bring the ball toss to a manageable height to remove the pause.

I could not locate the FH, BH videos.

This is a great thread, OP i saw the guy in red serving, looking very good to me.

Great potential for derailment from the other posters here though

Respected wise dear tt-user, leader, helmsman, pathfinder, vanguard pioneer designer, bright light torch, devil-deflecting mirror dog-beating stick dad mum grandad grandma old ancestor primal ape Supreme Deity Jade Emperor Guanyin Bodhisattva commander-in-chief, usually its not called a generalization when u say "generally speaking" becus ur saying that what ur about to say is not the case for everybody. If i had said east asians dont know irony, that would have been a generalization, fyi. Btw, welcome to America, or as many aisans would say "ámrica".

At the website where i found above salutation, i also learned that that the chinese use the same manure as us and that thou shall not habour intentions to hurt others.

nice strokes man, what type of forehand grip are you using? Your back swing reminds me of Gasquet's forehand and i think he uses continental.

The next time you hit with red shirt, ask him to hit all his forehands with a closed stance. (All his weight on his left foot, right off ground)

This is tough to do in a match situation, but, his habit is to hit open. Notice in the videos, hitting off his left foot, his shots overall are a lot more penetrating.

Really like the kicker to the back hand @ .54 in first video- up top looks good can't see feet- but nice service.

just saw ur FH and BH video- solid all around- footwork/ strokes etc- great game.
