Great performance from Andy today, well done to him.

Djoko better not play a marathon against Kei tomorrow, they are playing the second semifinal.

Never write Djokovic off, you are right, but he still doesn't look at his 100%. We'll see.

The most interesting scenario would be Murray v Djokovic final which decides YE#1 of 2016.
The first time we see a final with Murray no.1 and Djokovic no.2. That will definitely be weird o_O

After all the commentary. After all the analysis. After all the anguish. Imagine. Just imagine..............Imagine we see a Raonic vs Nishikori final.

Yeah - Stan defo tanked this one coz he wants to go on holiday rather than win the WTF - otherwise he'd be destroying Murray....
Cmon,, lets admit it... Andy is Inferior player compared to Stanimal. Stan beat the best Novak to win the US open. Andy lost to weakly Kei Nishikori and looked like a girl doing it...............lol

Congrats to Andy! :) What a fantastic year he's having! He really wants that year-end No.1.

As for Stan, well. He managed to win a third slam and (finally) a title at home despite having a horrendous year. For that, I salute him.

You just can't write Djokovic off vs Murray, Djokovic well set out to spoil the party and so will Raonic who's playing well.

No, I don't think we will admit it. Murray has 2 wins over Djokovic in a Slam final including at the US Open, just like Stan.

By the way, did Djokovic look like a girl when he lost to weakly Kei Nishikori in the semis of 2014 US Open? ;)

This match illustrates why people's best version of Stan is better than anyone being a ******** argument. He started this match on fire, was the better player. But Murray being the quality player and tactician that he is, played in a way that brought Stan out of his zone and then just took the match by the throat. Easy to lose sight of this fact watching a blaze of winners. People bring up Stan's wins over Djokovic in the slams with were superb, but I think it's clear Murray has a better tactics for facing off against an on fire Stan than Djovak does. It's not just he started of brilliantly today then couldn't be arsed after 3-3.

Tennis is about more than winners.

Has he equalled or bettered his career best winning streak from earlier this year now? It was 22 matches wasn't it?

Oh **** off. He has played a great tournament so far.

He has played a great tournament but let's be honest here, he's slightly better than Karlovic and Isner who at best finished a career best Top 10 and Raonic should just be a few notches above but definitely not Top 3 who bails like a chump when facing the very best players.

I am hoping Murray makes quick work of Raonic which I believe he will and then most likely Nishikori and Djokovic goes to like a 3-4 hour marathon.

This is the one huge downside to the WTFs...a player finding himself in Kei's situation. He's already qualified for the SFs, so there's little incentive to go all-out against Cilic. Sure, he doesn't want to just blow the match, but he also wants to conserve energy for his SF against Djokovic.

I wonder if he were to pull out (not exactly unknown for Kei), would he still be allowed to play tomorrow?

There's 200 ranking points for a RR win up for grabs to both players.

The rules state that if a player has made more matches then they would be first pick to go through. If Nishikori was to withdraw, Wawrinka would go through because he's played 3 matches 1-2 compared to Nishikori's 1-1

I don't think he's that good.

He's pretty much a weaker peak Roddick with the same horrible approach shots and volleys.

Are you kidding? Raonic is 10x the player Roddick was when it comes to approach shots and net play in general. Roddick may of been better in other aspects but that is not one them.

Wonder if Nishikori will play a proper match or just let Cilic win quickly to conserve energy for tomorrow?

Who knows? I think some part of him will tank personally, he had a long tough match against Murray so i doubt he wants to work too hard against Cilic 1 day before playing Djokovic.

If you are taking into account where Raonic made volley winners after volley winners vs Wawrinka at AO 2016 this year, it seems to be the only match where he volleyed well.

Have you seen his volleys in recent times especially vs Djokovic? It was beyond awful.

Roddick makes better volleys than Roddick IMO but both are really bad when it comes to approach shots so I don't agree with you with Raonic being a much better net player. I think the majority of you have forgotten how underrated Roddick is at the net.

Whenever you win a slam, it's a great year. Unless your Roger or Novak in their respective peaks.
Stan's gotta be lovin' it.

I can't argue with that, other than the memory of all those matches where he played horribly. haha

I'm very proud of his slam title and of him finishing in the Top 5 again, though. He does want to do better outside of slams, as he mentioned in his presser, but I'm sure he'll feel contented when he goes home and reflects on his USO title. :)

Murray doesn't tire. He fell into the haggis pot as a child – gained unlimited strength.
Haha. I was watching with my brother who came into town to watch (our father is Scottish.) Not the most amazing match.

Grand Slam H2H last 3 years:

Wawrinka-Djokovic

3-1

Murray-Djokovic
0-5

Peak Wawrinka is simply better than peak Murray, its just that peak Wawrinka shows up at like 2 tournaments per year (max).
