Just bought two of these frames and had them strung up with Technifibre Ice Code 17 and am absolutely in love . They feel absolutely fantastic. I wanted a thinner beam, an 18x20 string bed, but not too stiff. For me, these are the best of old school and new school. For reference, I’m 51 played junior tournaments and in college D2 in the 80’s and early 90’s. My go to back in the day was the original Pro-Staff. After a twenty year excursion into golf I’m back playing tennis and am falling in love with the game all over again. It’s funny how much things have changed. In the late 80’s I strung my Staffs at 70 lbs with Leona 66 (if anyone remembers that nylon string) and now have a full bed of poly at 57 lbs. I can’t believe how many string options there now are.

I really like the Yonex VCore Pro 97 HD. I tried one and I was really impressed with just the first few balls I hit with it. My OHBH was most improved right away. I bought a second one and I have been enjoying hitting with this racquet each time I go to the courts.
I do remember Leona 66, a great string. It is still a great choice IMO.
There are a ton of string choices. Do not get over worried about so many of them. Most are not very good over all. Do not go down that rabbit hole of trying more and more of them. If you find one that works well for you stay with it. It can be an expen$ive trip for possible no big benefit.

Hey thanks for the response. Yeah, I'm thinking I'll be sticking with Ice Code for the foreseeable future.
You have a great day McTennis.

Yes, I would stick with Ice Code as well. It has been some years since I played with Leona. One guy I know at a club I belonged to a few years ago still used Leona in his wife's racquets. I did not know it was still made and he said he found some on fleabay to buy.
Have a great weekend.

I got mine strung first with cyclone but don't like it at all and then with RPM 1.25 @ 51lbs which is way better. I like the stick but when hitting with it doesn't feel so buttery but with a lot of vibrations due to the low stiffness too. Do you think it's the strings or the tension, or you have the same feel too?

I would say say it could be a bit of both. That said, I’m focused more on the control side of the Vcore Pro 97hd. Mine does still feel buttery though.

Oh, if I use poly in it, I usually use Solinco and go 48lbs, I think it needs lower tension for polly than most sticks, check out the longer HD threads, some discussion of that on here.
