Sure thing - strung it up w the new Poly Tour Strike (Black) 17 gauge @49lbs. No lead however I think I may add a very small amount at 3 and 9 just to stabilize my swing a bit as it comes through the swing zone so quickly and I can get a bit ahead of myself from time to time but that is my own swing issue every now and again. I have been hitting my DR98 w Cyclone 17 gauge @45lbs. The Vcore 95 is much more comfortable than I thought it would be and I feel very comfortable swinging out on both wings. I can hit a great first serve flat bombs and kickers are also effective with the great head speed. OHs fall into the same bucket with the easy swing speed. Volleys are smooth with good pop as long as you are properly set up - unlike the thicker beam baseline frames that require you to simply hold the racquet out to hit an effective volley.
Overall the big selling feature for me is the control and amount of spin I am able to apply on my groundies. The racquet just rips through the zone and the combo of just the right stiffness and feedback are really nice on impact sending the ball with good depth and predictability. I feel like I have the ball on a string in terms of moving it around the court more so than my DR98 and more pop and spin as well with my game. I am a 4.5 and hit my FH with a semi western to fill western grip and my BH is a flatter two handed. I am more of an aggressive baseliner but like getting to the net as well even if it is not always the ideal moment to do so (-; Hope this helps and look fwd to seeing some other impressions of the Vcore 95 soon.
You sound like me in most every way! I liked the DR98 with PTP 120 at 45 lbs, so your setup is similar. I'll be getting the 98, though. the 16x20 string on the 95 doesn't interest me at all. I'm glad this iteration is more buttery, as you described it. I played with the VCORE Tour 89 for a bit and loved that. Haven't liked any other VCOREs since. I'm taking a leap of faith on buying this new one without demoing - something I tend to do out of excitement rather than rational thinking.

The New Vcore line already launched in Canada during the Rogers Cup two weeks ago and I picked up the new 95 and it is like butter. I am curious when the TW reviews will be up because I did not hit the SV version and would like to know how significant the changes are between the two. Coming from DR98 and EXO3 Tour 18x20 for many years prior to that. I did hit the SV98 as a demo last year but felt it was too brassy and didn’t like the stock weight and balance. The new Vcore 95 really allows you to put a ton of work on the ball and keep it between the lines. Looking fwd to everybody’s impressions once launched this Friday in the US.

"Like butter" sounds like sweet music to my ears... Can't wait for the reviews and everyone's impressions... The Force is strong with this one...

I briefly hit the new VCORE 98 and 100...both feel noticeably softer than the previous SV series, which i enjoyed...
Sweet! So far, everyone echos the new VCORES to be softer. While the RA is listed at 68 on a competitor's website, I think Yonex has the right formula to make a comfortable racquet even at a high RA. The DR100 was my racquet of choice for a while and it was high 60s, too - which I didn't mind at all.

The 25th will be the actual sale date. Due to restrictions, there will not be a pre-sale.

Hope that helps,

I demoed several sticks and about to pull the trigger on the VCore Pro 97. I am coming from a Prestige Pro and just LOVE the added maneuverability and increased swing speed I am getting on serves & groundstrokes. I know that you are playing with the Vcore Pro 97, so interested if you think there is a new Vcore that is comparable, perhaps the 98? I do not want increased stiffness and play an all court game with big kick serve. Thanks!

I would suggest you send for the demos of each racquet which meet your specs. If you want more spin and power, the VCORE is slightly better than the VCORE Pro.

62 RA on the 98 with a 320ish SW

Cool. Was that RA rating strung or unstrung? Why the "ish" on the SW? I had the VC98 measured at 322 SW strung with 1.30mm Toughbrid on a Alpha machine.

The RDC rating for the VC98 is beginning to be rather controversial with RA now @ 62, 65 and 68 by 3 different sources. Now I want to go get those racquets back for a RDC check! haha

He didn’t specify the 62RA. I’m assuming that’s strung cause he said the Vcore 100 measured 67. He just said 320ish because he knows that’s where I like my SW to be around. I’m assuming it’s about 322 or so. I’m gonna grab a demo on Sunday if they have it in.

Did you mean that he did say it was 62RA, but didn't specify whether it was strung or unstrung, or he didn't specify that it was 62RA (because that's what I feel your message above states)... Is it the former or the latter?

Ok so it's a guess? May I suggest you add that to your post so it doesn't become yet another false information quote. Right now, I think the 68 by the other source is the number we should all go with. My personal experience is the series, while softer in feel, is still pretty powerful. When I hit lower in the hoop, I felt the VC series was as powerful as the SV series. That, to me, shows they probably made the top hoop more flexible, while the longer mains and NAMD gives it the more forgiving feel.

No he measured them. He just didn’t specify strung or not (I can ask today) but I assume that’s strung because he said the 100 was 67RA.

According to Yonex's description, "First seen the VCORE Pro frames, this new graphite creates more flex and torque at contact to increase spin. Yonex claims it makes this VCORE 7% more flexible than the SV."
So 7% off the SV 98 TW spec of 67 is ~62.
But 62 is more flexible than the Ezone 98 and Vcore Pro 97 so I'll believe it when I see it.

I'm not sure it works that way. From my own play tests with all 3 models, I'll stick with 65-68RA, than 62.

There's no way that's unstrung, since then we could be talking 59-61 strung, which would be Prince Phantom 100P territory. Color me interested though.

just confirmed that the 62RA are unstrung specs with buddy from shop.

Still hard to believe 62 unstrung RA.
The line is supposed to be around 64-68. Slightly higher stiffness so Yonex will differentiate with vcore duel G/tour pro and AI/DR/Ezone line.

The pedant in me found the headline of that video misrepresenting. Gonzales is from the Philippines and Chris Rungkat is from Indonesia. They were playing in the invitation only Hong Kong Champions Cup, an exo featuring top Asian players in a round robin format over 2 days. So it's not like a Japan vs Indonesia thing like the poster of the video makes it out to be. I find it unnecessarily ethnocentric and nationalistic.

Playsight can give useful data. I confirmed my string and racquet choices with it. I personally would never buy a racquet based on anyone's review, without trying it out first. Of course, many around the world don't have that privilege, because their local agents either have no or limited demo racquets. And for some, even getting the racquet specs in terms of SW is difficult (I personally wouldn't bother doing that home method! haha). So I guess forums like these are somewhat useful, if one can sift through the marketing BS.
Yonex's claims of the "new" aerofin and aero trench design, can't possibly be that significant in spin, compared to the string pattern changes.

Damn does Goichi have a solid game.

I agree man. Seems pretty flexible. Just going by what I’m told. I’m be grabbing one Sunday to demo and will get it measured again when all strung up.

Well I did stumble into the TW specs by accident on racquetfinder:
Not sure if it is accurate since there are typos for nanometric and no power level.

Haha the guy is an ex-touring pro, looking at his game in the other video, probably top 2-300 easy.

Seems more positive than the SV 98 review overall. I was a bit disappointed that they used the VCORE 100 as the main point of comparison rather than other popular 98s like the EZONE 98 or Pure Strike so it’s a bit hard to say how they think it stacks up against similar specs in other lines and brands.

The VCORE 95 sounds surprisingly control-oriented given the SV 95's reputation as a Burn-like power 95. It seems like there is some overlap with the VCORE Pro line, which I thought was supposed to be the "control" line of Yonex racquets. My impression was that VCORE Pro = stability and control, EZONE = modern performance with a softer, muted feel, SV = maximum power and spin. But it seems like the new VCORE line doesn't quite end up in the same place as the old SV line.

Jason switched to the beast 100 and Sean still committed to his blade 18x20 , based on the reviews. The 98 looks like a good solid frame

Sean's racquet of choice says VCP 310 in the 98 review.
he just carries 3 different racquets in his bag and let his mood decide I guess

Seems like a really good line of rackets from Yonex but god damn the price is prohibitive, at £100 I can take a punt on a racket and add it to my bag but the £200 mark requires an informed decision.

The most informed way to decide is a playtest. Pay for an international demo if your local shop doesn't carry it. £20-30 is not as prohibitive as having to try sell the racquet if you hate it. More importantly, if your local shop doesn't have a demo, maybe talk to them about a contingency sale if you don't like it.

@time_fly Have you hit with the SV95? The SV95 and VC95 are very similar, that's a player's frame with an easy swinging racquet with good bite. The SV was just stiffer in the hoop, which created discomfort for those who slug all day. The low twist weight makes for certain stability issues. That's why the VCP97(330) is there, for the plow and higher twist weight.
These racquets are probably in the middle/upper middle range of power in racquets. You want real power, go to the + models.

Thanks for those.

Earlier I navigated to the site, selected the racket (95) then selected the ‘Tennis Warehouse Review’ option - got the error 404 - might be something for your IT person.

How do you think the new 95 compares to the 95D?
